I found Net Par to be a super fun activity that shows that there is so much more to love in the Capitol District. Net Par is very upscale in terms of design and layout - I could see it being a nice place to host an event with friends or family. They don't offer food, but you're allowed to order in from outside establishments or bring your own little snacks for your event or activity there. The golf simulator had something for everyone, like actual courses from around the world for the serious golfer, ones where you can just compete with your teammates to see who can hit the farthest, and fun games similar to Candy Crush that even kids would enjoy. You don't need to be an amazing golfer to enjoy Net Par. I definitely recommend it for your next date night, group hang out, or just to go play by yourself!

Not sure if this place serves food, but there's definitely a bar near the lockers and cashiers. Ambiance is loud and fun! I highly recommend this spot if you're into putt putt. The only negative thing I'll mention here is the parking. Since this location is in downtown Omaha, currently, there is construction and street parking. Plan ahead if you plan to come here during a busy weekend!

The event was held in the lower-level bar and gathering space, which has a classic, old-school club atmosphere. It's clear this is a place with a lot of history, and while it doesn't seem overly concerned with chasing trends, that's part of its charm. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure guests were well taken care of throughout the evening. The food was surprisingly great, and the drinks were equally well done. As a non-member, I only got a glimpse of what the club has to offer, but the experience definitely left me curious to come back. I've heard great things about the pool and would love the opportunity to check it out someday. Overall, a lovely evening in a unique Omaha institution.

Winding through the middle of the Iowa Western Community College campus, Treasure Cove is a…read morechallenging, beautiful course that's always in tip-top shape. Plus it's only about a 10 minute drive from downtown Omaha. There's plenty for everyone here: multiple tees for multiple skill levels, a few mando shots for those up for the challenge and holes that range from wide open spaces to secluded hideaways in the woods. There's a creek that winds through much of the course that's taken advantage of as well -- you have to love their signature hole with the basket that hangs from a pedestrian bridge just above the water (hole 13 I think?). Plus, you'll likely see a little wildlife when you're here, including adorable little baby deer. The only con I can think of is that you often run into the occasional jock or 40 as they prep to fulfill their juco dreams. Best to go during school breaks.

The course was easy to navigate, the staff was kind, and so were the other players along the course yesterday. I'm still learning and don't get out much but my boyfriend asked me to come along so I figured why not? I love that this course can be completed in an afternoon or morning and you can still manage to get other things done the same day. The course takes you up along the side of the lake and back around to the 9th hole hitting over the lake. I thought that was kind of fun. I mostly started at the red since I'm still a beginner bug hopefully I can move back to the white or blue! As far as golf courses go, I don't have much experience, but I will say I really like the layout of this course and how close it is to where we live!

It has a lot more newly opened establishments than the Old Market, so I'm not positive how long it will stay as hoppin' as it is now. I've been to a few bars and restaurants in The Capitol District, and most of them were great, and a few were pretty decent. My favorites are J. Gilberts (for a fancy dinner), Let It Fly (for a delicious burger), Moe and Curly's (for Karaoke), DJ's Dugout (to catch a game) and Roxxy (for a fun 80s/90s bar atmosphere). I've also been to Net Par for a golf Yelp event, Annie's Irish Pub on a pub crawl, and The Stuffed Olive for a drink and some stuffed olives. And I put those on my good-not-great list, for when I'm deciding where I'll go when I head back to the Capitol District. There are a few spots I haven't tried yet down in The Capitol District so I'll for sure be back to hit my favorites, and check out some new ones. I recommend heading down there and scoping it out for yourself and seeing which business you'd be interested in checking it out. Just like any mall or market, there will be hits and misses - but the gems you find will be worth it!

There is a vast majority of businesses like bar, restaurants, clubs, activites, and outdoor space to cater to a large audience. All year round there are events and programming, for the CD, or to add on to other downtown omaha activities. From Let it Fly, to Net Par, to the big screen during sporting events, there is so much to enjoy. Parking is also affordable and easy to get in the attached garage. All year round there is a reason to go to The Capitol District.
