I booked in advance, but our head count changed multiple times--including having 5 extra people show up unexpectedly the morning of, taking us to a party of 22! The staff was unbelievably accommodating, kind, and willing to work with us every step of the way. They are genuinely sweet, hospitable people, and the food was delicious to boot! I love the galley and the service was fine as always but I was really dissapointed with the breakfast wrap the amount of cheese in that was DISGUSTING and I couldn't stomach it... had to leave before I was sick but still tipped fine because I understand it's not a reflection of the servers... still a good spot I would probably go for their brunch instead of their breakfast from now on. read more

Drive through this area for seeing family, and found this place to get breakfast to go.... And even though it was takeout, it was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had! We were there this past week for dinner. It was a favorite with my parents when they were alive. The first thing I noticed is that this place does impressive business even on weeknights. The second thing I noticed is that everyone seemed happy, and most of them knew each other so they were regulars. My husband got beef liver (how often can you find that?) and I got a Greek salad with beef on top. I was thrilled. The dressing was clearly olive oil and herbs and vinegar - not bottled, not full of preservatives or cheap oils. I felt like I was eating real food. Oh, and the prices were very reasonable. Service was very good, especially considering the amount of business they get. I see why my parents raved about the place. read more

Had a very good evening meal on Friday, 24 April. I had a very generous portion of fried oysters which were excellent. My wife had the chicken rice bowl which was a large well prepared portion and also very good. The level of service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. Went for breakfast after church this morning and honestly I was never so disappointed!! My husband got a waffle and biscuits and gray I had chicken with eggs and potatoes. First the waffle came out 10 minutes before everything else and it was already cold! When my breakfast came out the eggs were runny and cold with cold potatoes and lukewarm chicken it was just a total disaster!! There was no getting anyone to come by the table to voice our concerns or even refill coffee or tea. Coming from the manager of another local cafe, This was the worst service I have ever received in my life. You can tell they tip share because Emma did not care to check in on us once after we got our food, not even apologizing when half the order was 10 minutes after the first half. Luckily, Miguel was there and constantly checked on us when he wasn't even our server, we wish we could've just tipped him solely. When Emma did speak to us she was very rude and didn't seem to care. Service was quick and friendly. Menu description was misleading. Veggie Sub said it had Avocado on it. No, Avocado!! STAFF said th they "used to put Avocado, but no longer provide. Clearly, for $8.25 for 6" sub; I paid for avocado. Staff was apologetic, offered something else. I only wanted veggie sandwich Spoke with owner. He blamed staff for not telling me when I ordered. I worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years. I don't blame staff. I hold him ultimately responsible. He should have taken item off check. Since he didn't offer, I'll take the smattering of bread, tomato and humus, throw it in a bowl, add my OWN guacamole, and call it a lesson learned. My companion had the steak and cheese. I went back for breakfast this morning. I ordered a short stack and a side of bacon. The pancakes were barely warm and were very tough. The syrup was like an imitation maple syrup. It was horrible! I used to love The Galley. Since the remodel, food has been subpar and nothing to brag about. The service quit frankly SUCKS! I used to be a server- I have never given the bill to a patron BEFORE they even received their food/drinks! Two different people waited on our table of five. One of the members of the group had to chance down a server to ask for napkins, silverware and straws. One of our group requested no mayo on her chicken wrap and wanted ranch instead. She was charged $1 for the ranch. The table asked for ranch for our fries when we ordered- they brought us out 4 small condiment cups of ranch and charged us $1 a cup. After waiting 30-40 minutes for our food, the orders were wrong! Plus they charge a service fee of 4-5% of your total for using a debit/credit card. The wait staff looks miserable. I can see why if the owner/manager speaks to them all the time like he did that evening. I will not be back- I've given them too many tries to improve themselves since the new building. Everything was very clean, and the servers were extremely cordial and attentive, and the food was superb. Is it fine dining? No. It's not meant to be. Wait staff was pleasant. Food was just mediocre at best. Canned vegetables, frozen fish, weird homemade cocktail sauce, extremely dry pork chops all of it luke warm. Prices were fair but quality was gross. The décor was newer and esthetically pleasing, but the restrooms were dirty and needed to be cleaned. There are plenty of other places to eat in the zip code so I would recommend going somewhere else. read more

The just recently renovated their restaurant. Every thing is new and looks great. The food was delicious and served quickly. All the ingredients seemed fresh, flavorful and no corners were cut to make a great meal. Coffee was delicious and served with plenty of refills for our party. It's nothing special, but the food is quick, it's comparable to waiting in the drive thru line at Hardee's during its peak breakfast rush.
