They said in order to return it I would need my receipt. When I was there I specifically asked the employee if it had any issues would returning it be a problem and he guaranteed the games should work. Lost the receipt and now stuck with a faulty game! Would still buy here but with extreme caution as it is one of the few if only retro game stores in the area. Person on the phone I felt was pretty rude, I didn't want a refund just an exchange and he gave me the usual you need the receipt run around and didn't even bother to hear me out! As a supervisor that wasn't exceptional or even remotely close to good customer service.

Selection in the overall store is what I would call average, with a decent selection of various games. Console selection seemed limited. DVD/Blu-ray stock was decent and cheap, but perhaps a bit lacking. Where I think Game Station stands out is the selection of in box games, which can be difficult to find but were not cheap. They also had a reasonable selection of games for rarer systems like the Sega CD. Overall, if you are a local, Game Station is probably not a bad store to stop in and check out. I'm not sure I'd travel out of my way to check out the selection.

While asking these basic questions, the owner was brash and seemed offended that I had gone to other stores first. Thankfully, I had read the reviews, so, by the time he started telling me that I had been "scammed" and taken advantage of by the other stores, I kind of just knew to roll with it. As I read through my inventory, hoping to get yes/no answers, he was critical of what I had "Oh, it's model X and it doesn't have the cables? What do you expect me to do?" Well, Wayne, will you give me $5 for it? That's about the extent of it. It's a fat PS2, not fine art. He said he'd take it along with my Wii Balance Board, though not for much. He guaranteed he'd give me better prices than anywhere else. Fine by me. A few weeks later, I found a trove--and I mean a trove--of GBA and PS1 games in my parents' attic. I called and mentioned I respected him being straight with me and saying he'd take some of my undesirable stuff and then told him that I had found hundreds of dollars in retro gaming items--what might we be looking at and when could I bring it down? As I asked for estimates on some of the more notable PS1 games, I was met with a tirade about people who shop around and use him for price discovery. I get it! But then he told me prices anyway, while oscillating between asking if I had other desirable games and criticizing some of my other, less-popular games. Again--you'd think they didn't want my business--but we got through it and the estimates were consistent with what I found online. I showed up with three boxes of electronics and I stood back as they were unloaded. In person, the owner and his wife are really pleasant people. We don't need to get into details, but we exchanged small-talk for an extended period of time and I enjoyed the social interaction. The prices offered were fine but, hey, wait a minute, what about the fat PS2 and Wii Balance Board? They didn't want to take them. With the largest cache of PS1 games that anyone has seen in 2020 on the line, we were able to work something out. I left the store with $400 in my pocket and felt like I had befriended the husband and wife team. A week and a half later, as I unloaded what few items remained, I realized that I was missing my 5th-generation iPod (~$50). I knew that someone at the Game Station must have taken it out of the box and we hadn't discussed it or anything. But almost two weeks and no heads-up call? I called and identified myself ("Hi Wayne, this is Tim O ... ... I was in a few weeks ago and sold you some games ..."), but was stonewalled ("Ok?") into actually explaining why I was calling, at which point the owner admitted "oh, yeah, we put it on the side and were wondering when you were going to come back for that." Err... you were in possession of something belonging to a customer due to your mistake, had my name, address, phone number, *and* the knowledge of when I was leaving NEPA for Chicago and you sat there wondering when I was going to try to come back for it? Sorry--I didn't see a need to write a review but, upon reflecting, it's hard to classify this as an honest oversight. I headed down and was asked to name a song on the iPod I had last used in 2009 in order to prove it was mine. Naming a song correctly, I was provided with the iPod and the comment "nobody listens to that shit anymore." Truer than you'd want to believe.

Blown away by Young Ones!…read more First thing you notice when you walk into Young Ones is the massive amount & wide range of well organized VINYL (all arranged alphabetically by genre. Really! ...when you see how much inventory they have...you will be doing this too). THEN, you feel & see how much care is taken in the choice of all Young Ones has to offer: vinyl, CDs, DVDs, blu RAY, video games & systems (Yes!) to the beautifully displayed tapestries, posters, concert posters, books, mugs, tshirts, and sooo much more. I just walked around there with my mouth open in amazement for the first hour I was there. The owner & staff are connected to the local music scene, supporting local musicians & venues ... dedicated to promoting artists and bringing you the music you want! It's easy to see how Young Ones Records has been going strong for over 30 years. Just phenomenal. Hats off to this independently owned business (same owner for its entirety!) for being the best!

It shares the building with other business including a CVS, and parking is shared with their lots or on the street. This is a light comic book shop with limited selection, to the point if they dropped comics from there name, I don't think anyone would notice. Handful of wall books and mostly modern books in their short boxes. Graphic novel selection was better than average with several shelves. Portal primarily focuses on gaming, with them having a large board gaming selection. Other gaming items are located around the shop, including various Warhammer items and paint for gaming items. Gaming space is located in the back of the shop, in a separate room from the merchandise. Overall, if you are looking for gaming items, The Portal should meet your needs. I would do my comic shopping at other shops in the Lehigh Valley, however.

They have been around for 20 years now, but they have really fallen since their prime years. What used to be a fun place with stocked shelves has turned into a skeleton of its former self. May empty shelves with little to no restock other than board games. Their D&D is almost nonexistent, their Warhammer barely there, and comics are laughable. They are always out of stock of MTG boxes so don't try unless you pre order. Seems like they only focus on selling on TCG. Even their webstore is empty, almost every item on their is listed as out of stock. Its actually depressing walking in there now. The employees are awkard and stare at you like you have three heads. I remember years ago there were 4 co-owners and there was always 1 or 2 of them there, I believe their names were Brian and Andy. They were always friendly and would often Join in for a game of MTG or Heroclix if no one else was around. There are now multiple shops around with better service and stock. I recommend skipping this store and trying one of the other Lehigh Valley Stores

When I said I was paying with my card, the person working there looked at me like I was stupid and went on a weird hypothetical rant about how he'd lose money if he accepted card payments. He even asked what I'd do if all systems shut down and we couldn't rely on technology which was completely unnecessary and made no sense whatsoever. He then asked me and the people I was with if none of us had three dollars in cash, which was honestly something I've never experienced at any business before. If there's a card minimum, just say so or put up a sign. It really isn't that hard. The whole interaction was uncomfortable and off-putting. On top of that, we overheard him loudly giving a random kid what sounded like awful work advice basically encouraging him to expect being yelled at on the job. The conversation was so loud we could hear it throughout the store. Not appropriate, and not something customers should have to listen to. So ya, put up a sign.

Be aware, that this shop is small, and gets crowded fast if a few people are in it. Shop has a good selection of new pull comics spread around the shop and graphic novels. Fair selection of various collectibles and some longboxes. Normally I wouldn't review a shop like this as it's very average. However, I've almost always walked out of here with at least one comic or pop vinyl. White Dragon is also the best shop in the metro Stroudsburg area for comics, and the best for miles in every direction. For these reasons they deserve a good review.
