The mural is part of a citywide art intuitive called alley gallery where local artist paint murals on exterior doors throughout the city of Lousiville. This mural features jockeys riding race horses in what appears to be a tightly ran horse race. There are a few alley gallery renderings Similar to This. But in a city known for the Kentucky derby and a rich horse racing history it makes sense. Overall it's always fun to discover murals that are part of the alley gallery initiative. Such a cool and fun way to spread public art and giving local artist a chance to shine.

This one is on a door blocked by a garbage can so you do the best you can to get back there and take a picture as best you can and to see it but it's a pretty cool looking one and of course focuses on our horses and how we're known for horse racing.

The mural by artist Robert Leo Jones is Larry of a massive public art project spanning all through downtown Lousiville called "alley gallery" where different artist paint different murals on side and read doors of businesses and garages throughout the city of Louisville. Overall this is a nice piece of a woman face. I'm not sure if the name Jennifer is of personal relationships for the artist or an homage to popular actress and Lousiville native Jennifer Lawrence. But either way it is really well done. Overall cool piece and I love how the alley gallery brings life and color to random spots throughout the city. Cool mural and idea.

Very brightly colored and unique Shelby park collage mural located just off the popular bar strip…read moreon Shelby street located next to a large parking lot near the church. I stumbled upon the begging process of this mural a month or so ago and was curious on how it would look when finished. Upon returning the other day this now has a very vibrant pink background that makes it stick out for sure. Mural was done in honor of one of the artist grandpas so I assume the randomness of some of the designs maybe hold down sort of sentimental purpose. So that is really cool. Overall cool and unique piece that is going to draw some attention and probably become a popular photo op especially for the nearby bar hoppers.

Idlewild's murals are a feast for the eyes!…read more The vibrant butterflies, caterpillar, praying mantis, and lush greenery create a truly magical atmosphere for this awesome butterfly farm and insectarium. I especially enjoy the butterfly and blue branches on the side of the building! If you're in the Shelby Park area, be sure to check it out!

Idlewild murals is a Shelby park neighborhood art mural on the side of an butterfly garden location…read moreknown as idlewild. So naturally the mural is mainly consisting of a large butterfly. Me and my friend and fellow yelper Jeremy J was spending a Saturday int he Shelby park and Nulu neighborhood to check out a few places and see some public art when we spotted this location. We were headed to red top for a hot dog and to ply ping pong when we noticed this. Within easy walking distance of this mural is a hour 7-10 other murals so if you are a fan of public art or murals then this is a great starting point. Overall cool piece of work that fits in nicely with the building theme and other pieces of art work in the neighborhood.

Highlands neighborhood public art mural just off the main bardstown road strip of Louisville…read more Located on the side of the business and in between what appears to be a residence (could be a business hard to tell down there sometimes). I'm not sure the artist or the significance but it's is very colorful and decent sized mural. Appears to be of the desert night and some nature. Overall it's a nice little piece of public art to a neighborhood full of them already. Good spot to walk around for art gazing, lunch time and shopping.
