This one resonated with us a bit as we both have nothing but daughters. Overall simple but nice mural. Always cool to come across new murals in the city when we go out exploring. Nice addition and to the Portland area that is gaining more and more public art on each visit we make.

This is from my recollection my my first sampling of that artist. But he did a really good job on this one. Very right and easy to read which makes the be the energy you want to attract message deliver strongly. Overall very cool addition to the Lousiville public art scene and it provides a very wise and positive message for all.

As a Yelper, of course I had to stop and take photos and write a review. But what was this building? To my surprise, it was a water pump station! It is the Metro Sewer District's 4th Street Pump Station, and in 2021, the eyesore of a pump station was transformed by artist Whitney Olsen with her mural "Waterfall". What a cool idea! This complete building wrapped mural is the metropolitan sewer dump (msd) pump for the downtown 4th street area. It has kinda sat there in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of downtown Lousiville for years. Until artist Whitney Olsen created this beautiful mural in July of 2021 and called it "waterfall". The artist does a great job and uses all kinds of soothing and vibrant colors. Really makes what was just some random looking pump station stick out and noticeable. Overall a great addition to the ever growing public art of not only the downtown Bourbon district of the city but the entire city as a whole. Easy to find. Anyone local has been downtown for an event and stuck in traffic in theirs area. So it provides a pretty traffic view at minimum.

Highlands neighborhood public art mural just off the main bardstown road strip of Louisville…read more Located on the side of the business and in between what appears to be a residence (could be a business hard to tell down there sometimes). I'm not sure the artist or the significance but it's is very colorful and decent sized mural. Appears to be of the desert night and some nature. Overall it's a nice little piece of public art to a neighborhood full of them already. Good spot to walk around for art gazing, lunch time and shopping.

The mural is part of a citywide art intuitive called alley gallery where local artist paint murals on exterior doors throughout the city of Lousiville. This mural features jockeys riding race horses in what appears to be a tightly ran horse race. There are a few alley gallery renderings Similar to This. But in a city known for the Kentucky derby and a rich horse racing history it makes sense. Overall it's always fun to discover murals that are part of the alley gallery initiative. Such a cool and fun way to spread public art and giving local artist a chance to shine.

This one is on a door blocked by a garbage can so you do the best you can to get back there and take a picture as best you can and to see it but it's a pretty cool looking one and of course focuses on our horses and how we're known for horse racing.

I stumbled upon the begging process of this mural a month or so ago and was curious on how it would look when finished. Upon returning the other day this now has a very vibrant pink background that makes it stick out for sure. Mural was done in honor of one of the artist grandpas so I assume the randomness of some of the designs maybe hold down sort of sentimental purpose. So that is really cool. Overall cool and unique piece that is going to draw some attention and probably become a popular photo op especially for the nearby bar hoppers.
