The Garrison is such a nice barber shop and the best in Vegas in my opinion. Its always clean, has a nice bar in the center you can sit at and have a drink, work, watch tv or read. Lots of plants everywhere, which is my thing and gives the shop a more comfy, home-like chill vibe. My barber is Tara and she has been cutting my hair for a few years now. And man, its very hard to find a Barber that cuts my hair the way I like and can do a good job. She is experienced, consistent, usually on time (can't help the late customers) and if she is behind I am notified. Much appreciated as I live far from the shop. I don't have much hair to work with but I wanted to do something different. This was my first visit to the Garrison and it was amazing. My barber Martin was friendly, professional and attentive. I showed up early and the owner Elliott greeted me and offered me a drink. Yesterday, I had the privilege to get my hair cut by Elliot at his new joint, The Garrison. As usual, Elliot did a great job on my hair, which is hard considering I have very straight and fine hair. I have been going to Elliot for close to 12 years and he has cut my dad and my Godfather's hair. He is a class act and a true professional. The Garrison is brand spanking new and is in the same shopping center as the Huntridge Tavern. As a kid, I would go to the Huntridge Shopping center, with my grandparents either for groceries where Savers now resides, or getting a milkshake from the lunch counter, inside the drug store, where WingStop now sits. I have watch the area decline and I have been excited and hoping for a revitalization. Well, it is well on the way. The area where Farm Basket used to be is now a beautiful Googie inspired space that houses a Roberto's and Capriotti's. The Garrison is BEAUTIFUL inside. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The area is open and airy and after life returns to normal, I can see this a great place to hang. Music is eclectic. Sports on the projection screen. It does not follow the Mid Century Modern, style outside, but actually harkens back to almost late 40's, early 50's as evident in the celadon green tile used as an feature. The ceiling is unfinished industrial. Lots of wood. If you want a great blast from the past, you need to check out the restrooms. HINT: powdered soap. Just like Elliot & Co. you will see a lot of Lay-rite products. I am a big fan of their use of Pinaud finishing products. It takes me back to a time of class. When you came out of a barber shop smelling like a man and climbing into your Eldorado to drive over to the MGM tennis club for a couple of vodka and tonics while you make a development deal. Word has it that there will be an actual shoeshine chair and there are lockers, that will be for VIP to store their own shaving accoutrements. Libations are also to follow. You will not see the staff dressed in smocks, nor will you see them dressed up in that hipster "just stepped out of the movie 'Newsies', let me shine your shoes and cut your hair, sir." vibe. That shit is so played out. You will feel like you stepped into a place of comfort. A staff that takes pride in where they work and how they look. A place, that if you had some time on your hands, you could stop in to listen to everyone talking how good we used to be when we were younger. They will not over or up-sale you, but they will make you look a dam site better than when you walked in. In fact, you might even exit out of the shop a little taller and your chest puffed out a little more. This place is a true gem. read more

I've lived in Vegas for 2 years now and up until I found Shon at the Garrison I always felt like I was taking a gamble when getting a haircut, and left many chairs having to do touch ups at home. I know this is Vegas, but I personally prefer to leave the gambling for the casinos. I started seeing Shon in October 2020, and have since been seeing him every two weeks. I can count on him to give me a great consistent cut that includes a nice hot neck shave to finish up with all the old-timey fixins (nice smelling aftershave and powder). I always go into work after his fine attention to detail haircuts feeling like a million bucks. This place is snazzy inside and I love the mid century-ish masculine vibe. Snazziness doesn't always equate to a great haircut, but at this place it does. They have been been great with COVID precautions to include: waiver, temp checks upon entry, masks on the entire time for staff and clients, and meticulous cleaning after each client. read more
