We went on a Saturday so we could get face painting, fun balloons, petting animals and Snowie King! However......we found out after waiting around that the face painting wasn't coming, the petting animals never showed and Snowie King wasn't open. Big bummer! My little was sad....but we did get a fun balloon! They do have a large variety of pumpkins. All sizes and colors go pick from! And lots of photo ops.

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all, which was so nice. My kids waited in the short line and both got balloon animals and their faces painted. There was also a little play area in the back with a fenced off area and two alpacas hanging out! There are a ton of pumpkins to purchase and they're also displayed so nicely with lots of photo ops. In fact, there are staff people standing around ready to take group pics. My family and I loved this easy breezy pumpkin patch experience. We left with 4 little pumpkins for $5!

I successfully navigated Kaiser's process which is terrible if you're neurodivergent, but ultimately their Psychiatric team diagnosed me with ASD. I used to go the SPCA thrift down…read morein Sacramento when it was still open, and so I was pleasantly surprised I only just now found out there was one up in Roseville! It's not as big as the other one was which was disappointing, but oh well. It's a small thrift store that had a lot of various pieces here. A small book section, clothes, a few pieces of furniture, etc etc. The best part is that the sales go towards the SPCA, so you can feel good about helping animals while finding something for cheap. They even had a back room with some pet furniture too! Prices were pretty cheap too! There were some things that were being charged more than what they're worth, but that's always the case at a second hand store. The majority was a great deal which is what matters the most. Staff was friendly and made up entirely of volunteers. They were happy to talk to us whenever we had questions about an item, but otherwise were pretty hands off in terms of letting us shop, which I appreciated. It's not the best thrift store I've ever been to, but it's far from the worst too. Check them out if you've got time, it's easy to get in and out of quickly too.

The prices were very decent and the place was clean. I didn't see a dressing room which is also nice when clothes are the main thing to be purchased, but it was still very nice. I would look and then all of a sudden there was another room or another area with more stuff. That was awesome. Looks small, but is actually a very decent size for a thrift store.

First the place is quiet, clean, and every one I met was super nice. Second they don't make you feel like some other not for profits, you know like they are doing you a favor so you better be happy with what ever you get... No, not here. I actuality genuinely felt like these wanted to help people. A great feeling. The resources here are impressive. I couldn't believe that they cost little to no money out of pocket. Of course the over draw back with anything of this type is the amount of people in need and the a ability to support that need. So for some services, very few I have to add, there is a waiting list. Lighthouse is a great great place. A place that has filled me with hope and ambition.

Along the way, I also met my social worker, Tiffany Welter, whose calming presence put me at ease. The adoption agency I worked with--familiar with The Family Network--presented me with several matches in a short span. After a long match fell through, I received a life-changing phone call in May 2020 and was finally paired with my daughter. During the post-placement meetings with Tiffany, I relied on The Family Network even more; she was crucial in answering my questions and moving the process along. As someone who was new to the adoption process, I deeply appreciated their willingness to take me on as a client and smooth out every step, while also showing genuine interest in me as a person and a mom-to-be.
