We go to the Deer Creek pumpkin patch every year (some years more than one)! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This year was a little disappointing. We went on a Saturday so we could get face painting, fun balloons, petting animals and Snowie King! However......we found out after waiting around that the face painting wasn't coming, the petting animals never showed and Snowie King wasn't open[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Big bummer! [[HIGHLIGHT]]My little was sad....but we did get a fun balloon![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do have a large variety of pumpkins. All sizes and colors go pick from! And lots of photo ops. read more

This is such a cute pumpkin patch that is behind the Deer Creek Farm store. I love that the proceeds go to a great charitable organization which helps foster kids. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all, which was so nice. My kids waited in the short line and both got balloon animals and their faces painted. There was also a little play area in the back with a fenced off area and two alpacas hanging out! There are a ton of pumpkins to purchase and they're also displayed so nicely with lots of photo ops. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In fact, there are staff people standing around ready to take group pics.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My family and I loved this easy breezy pumpkin patch experience. I purchased some items for Christmas decorations and a princess wood toy set for my granddaughter. We were so delighted and enjoyed the Christmas carolers from the Sacramento Pilharmonica and Opera that stood outside (with heaters set out) raising their beautiful voices in the spirit of Christmas and the birth of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There were some very yummy cookies set out for the customers to enjoy. We headed out to a tented area in the back that had some beautifully arranged natural foliage centerpieces for the Christmas season. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Again, the staff were very helpful and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wood strongly recommend gathering a few ladies and making an outing with a stop at this Rocklin store for your gift shopping for some unique and creative home decor. We wanted to go to a smaller place to pick out our pumpkins this year, and Deer Creek did not disappoint! After just getting over some sickness we were not wanting to brave Bishops like we usually do. Deer Creek had some really cute photo spots, a face painting and games section, a pick your own produce garden, LOTS of fun wagons to choose from, a coffee stand and tons of cute scarecrows and decorations. We picked some tomatoes and habanero peppers and made the most delicious salsa when we got home. Stacy made our visit even better. She was there talking to us and explaining everything. The proceeds from sales go directly to the Non Profit Organization, Compassion Planet, which provides basic life skills, trains and employees at risk and aged-out foster youth. Shopping here is a win-win; the proceeds go to a fabulous cause making it ok to splurge. I was first drawn in as I drove toward the building, by the curb appeal. As I was welcomed, the shop attendants shared the story of the non-profit with me. It was a smart move, as I was a bit more loose with my wallet. The shop has some wonderful unique gifts at various price points. Some items prices well, others a little bit over, but we all make choices. I enjoyed the selection of jewelry, home decor items; they had some cute seasonal items I had not seen anywhere else. If I'm back in Rocklin, I will definitely be stopping by for a trip inside. read more

Great place for seasonal gifts and decor. All the items I have purchased here have been super high quality. I shared them with all my sisters and MIL. I wish they had a database to track purchases by friends/family members because we seem to all love gifting each other similar items (man they have good taste ). It is not the place for modern decor pieces, but they have some great purses, jewelry, and candles, and a lot of farmhouse, cozy, comforting vibe. I happened into Deer Creek Farm while on a round-trip walk while my car was having some work done. They have a pretty nice standalone not-in-a-strip-mall shop location that's attractive and inviting. Home decor items and gifts along with lotions and various tokens. You see a lot of this stuff at other shops and fairly common. The prices here are not out of the ordinary. The byline on the street frontage sign reads "by Compassion Planet" and I overheard a conversation inside that the store is operated not-for-profit; a true 501(c)(c3) for the benefit of at-risk youth and aged-out foster children. I also heard that the inventory changes fairly regularly and not always the same items visit to visit. These two elements make a difference for me. There's a reason to shop here. I wish I wasn't on a long walk as there were some cool things I'd like to have picked up ... I will come again now that I know the story. At home, I reviewed the website for Compassion Planet and it's not a very good website .. I like to read content not watch a video. I did find their vision and purpose buried in the "About Us" page - don't you think that should be prominent on the first page. I had hoped to learn more about their project here but the website has no reference to the Deer Creek Farm shop. OK .. this is not a review of the website, my apologies. Nice shop. I purchased two outdoor door mats here and the mats look ok but the quality is very bad. One of the outdoor mats got wet and the dye in the Matt permanently stained the concrete underneath. Ummm hello, these mats are suppose to be made for the outdoors, why are they not waterproof? read more

I ABSOLUTELY love this place. I find so many unique items here. So nice from the mass produced everything that is elsewhere. I love the gift ideas, sweet home decor items ...I can't say enough about how fun it is to shop there. Their shop helps children who have aged out of the foster care system; they work in the store and it's wonderful to see them get assistance in this transition in their life.
