    More fun in Loomis.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]My adult daughter's, sister and I had an amazing time at Deer Creek Farms in Rocklin.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is my fifth time shopping at the store and there are so many fun creative items to purchase. I purchased some items for Christmas decorations and a princess wood toy set for my granddaughter. We were so delighted and enjoyed the Christmas carolers from the Sacramento Pilharmonica and Opera that stood outside (with heaters set out) raising their beautiful voices in the spirit of Christmas and the birth of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There were some very yummy cookies set out for the customers to enjoy. We headed out to a tented area in the back that had some beautifully arranged natural foliage centerpieces for the Christmas season. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Again, the staff were very helpful and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wood strongly recommend gathering a few ladies and making an outing with a stop at this Rocklin store for your gift shopping for some unique and creative home decor. From this store we headed to the quaint town of Loomis just 4 miles north of Deer Creek Farms. It was a wonderful way to spend the day on a cold crisp winter day.

Lots of pumpkins to choose from and fun wagons for the kids to ride in.

We wanted to go to a smaller place to pick out our pumpkins this year, and Deer Creek did not disappoint! After just getting over some sickness we were not wanting to brave Bishops like we usually do. Deer Creek had some really cute photo spots, a face painting and games section, a pick your own produce garden, LOTS of fun wagons to choose from, a coffee stand and tons of cute scarecrows and decorations. We picked some tomatoes and habanero peppers and made the most delicious salsa when we got home. Stacy made our visit even better. She was there talking to us and explaining everything. So much fun and so sweet to the kids. She took the best pictures of us as well. Thank you Stacy!

Hidden gem alert! This review is for my first visit to Deer Creek Farm and Fall Pumpkin Patch. Easy to find in Rocklin. Tons of parking. FIVE stars. The proceeds from sales go directly to the Non Profit Organization, Compassion Planet, which provides basic life skills, trains and employees at risk and aged-out foster youth. What a wonderful place. It's a CUTE gift store full of the latest on trend home decor and cooking items. I bought A LOT of things but I wanted a lot more! Excellent prices and super friendly employees. I can't wait to go back at Christmas. They have a garden out back that you can stroll through. Right now it is a pretty pumpkin patch just ready for fall photo ops. They have tons of pumpkins for sale in all sizes and types. Check it out for sure!!

This store is run by a non profit called Compassion Planet that helps foster youth. That said it's one of the best stores for unique gifts in all of Placer County. I am always looking here before special occasions for that special gift. They sell pumpkins near Halloween, fresh flowers before Mother's Day and recently added a craft coffee trailer on the back.

We REALLY wanted to take him HOME!

They have been busy at DCF, updating the look AND the stock. I picked up another LOVELY gift on Friday of last week, and once again, I'm so thoroughly impressed. Having worked with Foster Youth for the past 17 years, it gives me GREAT pleasure to be a repeat customer here. The staff is VERY friendly, and I get to follow up with students that I may have worked with over the years. Worth another Spring Look if you have not been in lately, updated!

After my purchase of the 4 flower bar tickets I soon received a phone call from the Flower Farm gift shop, the lady told me that the promotion code was not valid and she was going to refund my purchase and I would have to re purchase without the promotion code. I explained to her that I felt that was not right since it was their mistake, they needed to update their website and not allow promotion codes for the flower bar if that was the case. As a company they should have honored my purchase and fixed their mistake rather than refunding and making me re purchase again without the promo code. The lady on the phone took no accountability and was very snappy with me, it just left me feeling upset when I got off the phone with her. Sad thing is I am still really excited for this event, it is just a bummer that this experience now created bad energy for me going into the experience. It's hands down the best antique store I've visited in both the bay and Sacramento areas. It is packed with unique finds and well laid out with named aisles. Almost the entire back wall is filled with a mid century modern vendor. The selection of color glass, kitschy housewares and unique art blew me away. The prices were really reasonable and some vendors had some sales and markdowns. They make it clear which vendors will accept offers. Staff was available though out the floor to assist. That is smart, as this place is the size of a small grocery store. Visiting Antique Trove is an experience for sure. There are restrooms up front, a good size patio outside with additional items for sale and just a ton of treasures to browse through. I spent about an hour there and could have easily spent more had I not been late for lunch and hangry. That's another thing-don't come hungry thinking it's a quick trip-you'll be there a while! Lots of parking and easily found off the freeway, Antitque Trove is a must stop for anyone interested in vintage shopping.

And it's also a Fusion mineral paint distributor with a great selection in-store, plus the option to purchase online. To help you learn how to get the most from your furniture paint purchase, they offer classes in the back of their beautiful store. I took a Painting 101 class with Mary, the owner, and she was a terrific teacher. Here's what I loved: FAIR PRICING: I had been looking for a class and saw them offered at $65 to $95, so her fee of $75 was very competitive. The difference was that I could use the class to paint my own item, if I liked, rather than just try techniques on wood boards, as some do. All supplies were included in the 3-hour class. APPROACHABLE STYLE: Answered questions patiently and thoroughly, demonstrated techniques and tricks, and offered advice while STILL asking your personal project preferences on color, wax use, distress level, etc. She was generous with her time and expertise -- which just makes me want to give her more business. This is exactly the kind of local, small business that you want to see thrive. It's a go-to stop for me -- whether shopping for a gift or doing a painting project.
