We booked online but you can book the same day. Remember that after the license is issued that a couple in Texas has to wait 72 hours to be married. The owner seems to have a special calling for this. My parents and their two friends had a really great time as well as us. We felt special and privileged and honored and even though it didn't cost a million dollars didn't mean we didn't feel like a million.

You can tell a lot of care went into making it both beautiful and livable. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the setting. Waking up to open fields, wildflowers, and animals nearby, and then winding down under a sky full of stars--it felt peaceful in a way that's hard to find. It was the kind of place that gently pushes you out of your comfort zone in a safe and meaningful way, and those are the experiences that stick. There were also a few thoughtful touches and moments during our stay that made it feel even more special and memorable. It created some true core memories for my kids--those little unexpected experiences that you don't forget. The caretakers were absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and took extra time to make sure we were comfortable. You can feel how much they care about the space, the animals, and the people who visit. This isn't a typical stay--it's something much more intentional. It feels like a place where the land and animals are genuinely cared for, and you're invited to be part of that, even if just for a short time. The "inn" is really a 40 acre farm (bed and breakfast) with animals for kids to look at, various buildings to view, and a community fire pit. Ordinarily, there is a breakfast bar that was not functioning during the pandemic. The bucolic environment was very relaxing and we appreciated the time away from the hustle and bustle. There were some problems with our Airstream. The inside smelled musty and the sheets had some weird odor. We were there in October and it got cold at night but there was no heat so we froze during the night. There were no blankets. The "kitchen" was not very well equipped, lacking even a bottle opener. So, we enjoyed our time but it would have been better if the Airstream had been better maintained and equipped.

She answered all my questions and got me even more excited about everything the ranch had to offer. Getting There: We visited for my wife's birthday, bringing along our 11-year-old and 2-year-old. We arrived on a Tuesday and stayed until Thursday--it was quiet at night and incredibly peaceful. Traveling from Round Rock, the GPS guided us directly to the property without any issues. The drive was enjoyable, with scenic views of cows and lush greenery. A few days before arrival, we received an email with everything we needed--gate code, Wi-Fi password, parking instructions, and more--making check-in smooth. Upon arrival at our cabin, we were greeted by the sight of zebras and Jack the camel, which was an incredible surprise! The Camellia Cabin: First Impressions: Cool, cozy, and well-designed--felt like a tiny home. Living Area: Spacious fridge and ample cabinet space. Stove available for cooking. TV, loveseat, and a comfortable chair. Loft Area: Two full-sized beds (low ceiling but cozy). Bathroom: Clean with a sliding door. Water was consistently hot (bring your own soap--mentioned in the email). Main Bedroom: Full-sized bed with two closets. The AC is positioned above the bed--great for cooling down, but be prepared for direct airflow. Extras: Fireplace for s'mores. Plug-in bug zapper. Plenty of firewood provided. The Property: Beautiful and spacious with plenty to explore! Wildlife: Baby goats, peacocks, and geese freely roaming the grounds. Outdoor Activities: Swings and grassy areas perfect for picnics. Bikes available for riding around the property. Lovely pool area for relaxing. The Extras: Safari Tour (Highly Recommended!) A 600-acre tour behind a gated section of the property. Our guide (whose name I sadly can't recall, but I believe it started with "A") was amazing--his passion and knowledge of the animals made the experience unforgettable. We saw wildebeests, bison, red stags, llamas, and more. When it started to rain, our guide quickly pulled my into a shed to keep us dry and continued sharing fascinating details about the animals and property. A must-do experience--kudos to the staff! Horseback Riding (Trip Highlight!) Just outside the main gate (about 9 yards to the left). We were greeted by Kenneth and his associate, who were welcoming and professional. My wife rode Oil Money, while I was paired with Geronimo--my first time on a horse! I was nervous at first, but Geronimo was a pro--he knew exactly what he was doing, even if I didn't! The ride lasted over an hour, and we felt like we got every penny's worth. Final Thoughts: Moon River Ranch exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available to answer questions. The property was stunning and offered so much to do. We truly made the most of our two-day stay and can't wait to return! Just was in a wedding at The Brooks this past weekend and was absolutely blown away! I have been to…read moreso many weddings but I have never been to a more perfect venue! It is an absolute dream of a venue. The chapel is so perfect and all white with beautiful open windows and perfect light. The reception hall is huge and so open and well lit. The rooms for the bridesmaids and groomsmen are so beautiful and open. As a photographer I was blown away by how many perfect photography spots there were. I could not think of a better place for a wedding. Plus, there are little cows surrounding the property that are just the cherry on top.

Inside the reception building they have comfortable seating in one area they have an area an inside that can be set up for you to have a meal area also there is a bar section. One downfall is there is only ONE bathroom which to me is an issue. When you have 50-150 people there an there is one bathroom an people have to wait for it that's no go for me. Second downfall for me is that I'm disabled an trying to walk from parking lot to the sidewalk is rough, all the little stones makes walking with a cane difficult. Beside that the staff is polite an are accommodating. Sorry I missed getting pictures of the actual chapel it's super cute.

My daughter had her wedding at this beautiful venue in China Spring, TX. When we went to visit the…read morevenue we were told it could fit up to 300 people but it would be tight. We had approx 240 guests and we felt it was a tight fit. Their kitchen is small and made for a very tight situation with the caterer and all the supplies needed for the reception. It also has a small commercial fridge which had some of the owners drinks in it but we managed to fill it up with some of our drinks. They do provide ice but we also brought in two huge coolers of ice to pack drinks in, that didn't fit in the kitchen fridge. If you have a large bridal party the bridal suite will be very tight ( we had bride, MOB, 7 bridesmaids, MOG, makeup artist and hairstylist) and no room for all to sit especially with everyone's bags and dresses. Due to the size of the wedding we were required to hire two bartenders and two security guards. One bartender showed up and the second security guard was pulled away due to a family matter. The owners of the venue did step in as bartender and security guard. Our wedding party was the first to use their silo accommodations. They are beautiful rooms and a great outdoor area set up with fire pit and games. If you live in the Waco and surrounding area this is a great place for a wedding. For our out of town guests they either stayed at Airbnbs or at hotels in Waco. We did advise them all to be prepared for a 35-40 minute drive to the venue.
