We love this venue!! They have worked hard to make this a beautiful place. The owners are full of wisdom in what works best, which saved us a ton of time with the setting up of tables and chairs. The bridal suite is beautiful and perfect for getting ready. I looked a several places and this one gives you the most for your money. We had no electricity in that venue, and they had no back up compressor. Therefore, reception was terrible. It was very dark, and the dessert was melted, including the wedding cake. I absolutely don't recommend this venue to anyone. read more

The venue was beautiful and the price is not bad. My problem was with the owners. I was trying to keep my daughters wedding going on time when they told me that some people started late. They called it "CPT", then told me that stood for "Colored People Time". Being a white male I do not experience racism first hand often, but I did that day. I will not do business with them again because of this. They also have lots of things for rent like knives, tablecloths, etc., but it is very expensive. I found this to be kind of shady, but they did not hide it and this would not stop me from doing business with them again. They also watched everything very close the entire time. I was called outside during the reception because kids were playing on the playground without supervision. These kids were teenagers, excessive but I can live with that too. I nearly missed my daughters cake cutting because of this. Again, this would not stop me from doing business there. It is the blatant racism that I could not deal with. This is a beautiful venue at a decent price if you don't mind doing business with these kind of people. read more

My husband and I booked "The Gazebo Muskogee" for our wedding earlier this year. It wasn't until about two weeks before when we had any issues-even then it was only a slight misunderstanding due to the writing in their contract. The big issues arose the weekend of our wedding. First of all-Mona and David did not help us with any kind of set up for our wedding and reception. That would be ok if we did not sign an agreement that stated we would get help unloading or loading. The worst part about this, is that they do not help, but they watched us the entire time. I was currently 6weeks pregnant and unable to lift a 20lb mirror at the time(per docs orders), and asked David if he would help me (please note that David was right next to me when I asked). His exact words were "You are 25, I am 66, I will not help you at all." When I explained I understood, but that my doctor ordered me not to I was then interrupted and told that "it doesn't matter, you're gonna have to find someone else". Once I did, he then followed us to where we were going and watched us stumble while lifting this mirror. The day of our wedding came upon us the next day. Due to a thunderstorm the night before, the electricity was out on the reception hall and it was raining in the gazebo. When we arrived at the venue, we had to finish trying to prepare in the dark. Mona, the owner, was kind enough to offer a flashlight but told us that we could not use very much of it because "she did not want us to use up her batteries". Once it stopped raining, we went to prepare the gazebo. Tree limbs were down and the gazebo/yard was a mess with dirt and flowers that were blown in from the storm. Once again, David and Mona said that they do not help pick this up because it is not in the contract. We were told that because we paid for that day that we have to clean up (even though this was due to a storm not from a party that had not happened yet). We then spent the next three hours cleaning up their yard so that our wedding would be presentable to our guests. In the contract it also states that David and Mona will assist in taking down and setting up tables and chairs. The assistance we received was them holding the cart and telling us where to put the chairs. At 1130am (wedding to start at 530) I asked if David and Mona had a generator, and was then name called as an "over bearing bride" to want electricity and that they did NOT have any backup. This was an "act of god" and that if we needed electricity we would have to find our own generator. We then had people call and help find one that could be loaned to us. When one was found (after another hr was blown from our wedding day) we were told by the owner, David, that the building was not built to take a generator and that it does not have a "transfer switch". He told us to find our own even though he knew it was wasting time because he knew he didn't build their facility to have one! We had to find someone that day to spend ANOTHER $300 in candles (out of our own pocket) so that our guests had lighting in our reception hall. When it came time for the wedding, it was raining outside so we had to have our wedding inside the reception hall that STILL did not have any electricity or air conditioning. The fridge that we paid for did not work, therefore most of our food/drinks/dessert were unable to be properly used. I was unable to use the bridal suite, so due to no electricity we could not see (it was dark) to do makeup/hair/getting dressed. Our guests had to sit in the reception hall without air conditioning or lighting, making them extremely uncomfortable and unable to stay for the reception. Those that did stay had to eat using the flashlights on their phones. We were unable to have dancing, fireworks, first dances, etc! The property does not have any "no smoking" signs, but they do have a table that says "smoking area". My cousin was at the wedding and at first did not see this sign. The owner, Mona, PUT HER ACTUAL HANDS on him and told him that he must put the cigarette out and that he cannot smoke there. He happily went to the spot to finish his cigarette and put out his cigarette butt in the proper can afterwards. For me, I'd prefer that she tell my husband and I of the event and have us remind everyone again but this escalated way too high. PUTTING HANDS ON A CLIENTS' GUEST IS WRONG. We have asked for a week now to be partially compensated for our issues (not being able to use some services that we paid for in our package such as the fridge or bridal suite, electricity, gazebo, etc). David and Mona are unwilling to meet us in the middle and be fair therefore we had to take legal action as well as place a claim with the Better Business Bureau. After writing our reviews on Facebook, the owners took down the ability to write reviews on their Facebook page. People will now not be able to see what the owners are truly capable of. read more

I was lucky enough to get married here and could not imagine having my special day anywhere else. Not only is there a spacious air-conditioned building for your event, but also vast several acres of beautifully gardened land, two ponds, two gazebos, and even a playground to gaze upon. Your wedding photos will look like a million bucks just because of the setting! David and Mona are very kind and professional; they've built the whole location almost from the ground up with their own hands. This is a beautiful place but not when you don't have electricity for a large wedding. On Saturday night 6-23-18 a storm blew through our area, and as a result, The Gazebo had no electricity on 6-24-18, the wedding day. The venue owners had no back up plan such as a generator. We were told that we needed to supply our own, only to be told by the owners, after we found one, that the reception building was not electrically wired to use one. While the bride (my daughter) and her fiancee were talking to the owners about having a backup plan, one of owners called my daughter a high maintenance bride with too high of standards. They paid $1,350 plus a $250 cleaning deposit...so yes, they were expecting having electricity at the wedding....one of the basic necessities. There was still no electricity in the night of the wedding. The bride and wedding party had to be farmed out to get ready because the bridal suite had a little light, from the windows , but no electricy to keep us cool while getting ready and no way to heat up curling irons or see to do makeup. We also had to go and buy, at our expense and effort, 200 candles to try and light the large reception room. It was not near enough light. The 100-125 guests had to use their phone flashlights to see to eat, to find the desert table and drink dispensers. We had no electricity for air conditioning or air ventilation. We had planned an extensive agenda, including dancing and fireworks but the guests were leaving in large numbers 11/2 hours after the wedding began because of the situation. We had no way of having music except for the wedding entrance march. One of the 2 speakers ran on electricity; the other speaker was battery powered. We had no electricity to keep the desserts and drinks cool.The wedding cake split down the middle, because of the heat, when the bride and groom cut into it. We have no videos or good pictures of the vows because it was too dark in the building. The couple intended to get married in the gazebo but it was raining too hard, so we all ened up in the reception building. After most of the guests left, the venue owners manually opened one of the "garage type" doors on the end of the building. We could not do that earlier because of the rain. It rained most of the day and into the evening. We also had to clean up the reception building in the dark, using flashlights. We cleaned Sunday night and finished Monday morning. Still no electricity on Monday morning, so we continued cleaning with light from the open garage door and flashlights, so we could get the $250 cleaning deposit back. When we asked the owners for some reimbursement of the venue fee, they told that we did not even deserve to have the cleaning deposit back. They claimed that 2 people were smoking in an undesignated outdoor "no smoking" area. They said they found a beer can and a liquor bottle on the property. We have asked almost everyone and no one admits to drinking alcohol or seeing any one else doing that. How are we supposed to " baby sit" 100-125 guests? Lastly, we were told that we over booked and that the cars caused ruts in their dirt/gravel parking lot....remember, it rained hard all day and into the evening. In addition, the venue owners knew all along how many people were invited to the wedding. The owners offered the bride and groom $300, making it clear that this refund was to reimburse them for candle purchases. The owners claim that the lack of electricity was an "act of God" and in no way are they responsible for our disastrous day and do not owe us anything for reimbursement for what happened.
