Absolutely incredible! The location is only a few minutes away from Victoria Station, making it extremely easy to move around. The room was cozy, with a beautiful chandelier above the bed. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was top. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel pisses me off. Sure it's "quaint" and "charming," but claiming to be a "4 star hotel" while running out of hot water for a bath (when there is ONLY a bathtub in the room, no shower), when the staff forgets to clean the room on the first day and the only day it actually needed to be cleaned for our stay, and the hotel has apparently been undergoing renovations for the past 4 years (the reviews from 4 years ago are also complaining about repair and painting noises all hours of the day...personally, I was awoken multiple times by the sounds of drilling and hammering next door 2/2 of the days I stayed here), and being subjected to the sounds of EVERY single person staying in the hotel walking up and down the stairs and opening and closing doors, and being able to hear a cell phone phone buzzing from the room next door....was a lot of sh** to have to put up with. Keep in mind that we were staying in one of the nicer rooms of the hotel. Sure there are other rooms with showers, but having even ONE room with ONLY a bath and not enough hot water for ONE BATH is unacceptable. read more

Awesome location within walking distance to Victoria Station (less than ten minute walk) and great Pimlico neighborhood. The hotel consist of several townhouse structures with multiple stories. Think of multi-story townhouses or B&B, with updated décor. We stayed in a Belgravia boutique room which had a double bed, hardwood floors, modern appointments, small but luxury bathroom, flat screen TV, writing desk, and a comfy sofa with lie flat option. There are nice touches such as fresh brew coffee, teas, bottled water, and shortbread biscuits. The rooms are exceptionally neat with clean lines & modern décor. My only complaint regarding my room was inadequate lighting throughout the space. Breakfast downstairs at the Pimlico Pantry located in the main structure is delicious. Great way to start your day. Fresh fruit, juices, pastries, muffins, cereals, yogurts, cheeses, and made to order hot items are scrumptious. The hosts and servers are all efficient and polite. Entire staff at the Georgian House is extra helpful. The cleaning staff is exceptional! ** Note- Our building, which was a short block away from the main structure, did not have lifts or elevators...Lots of stair climbing at this hotel. If you do book a room, ask about access if you have trouble getting up and down stairs. Our nice room was located in the basement level of the structure which was slightly a steep stair-climb down. **Location-**Location....Awesomely convenient to everything London. read more

Have you ever wanted to stay at Hogwarts? Join the club. While it's not exactly possible to stay at the actual castle, the Georgian House Hotel is one of the best alternatives I've found. Even though it's only a few minutes' walk to Victoria Station, in the heart of bustling London, the Georgian House Hotel transports you to Hogwarts in their secret chambers. The front desk was very attentive and they took our bags to our room before guiding us there, which was very helpful since there was a secret entrance to our wing. We stayed in the Enchanted Chambers, which book up really fast, by the way. The room was incredible. The ambience was exactly what these Harry Potter fans wanted. Although it was a bit tight, it had enough room for the two of us. The bathroom fit the necessities, and fit the theme really well, though the toilet didn't really have a reliable flush. There's no elevator to get around the hotel - only stairs, which was fine for us, but worthy to note. We did need to go down one flight to get to our room from the main floor (and vice versa, of course, when leaving each day). To get to the included breakfast at their restaurant, Pimlico Pantry, we needed to: - Go up one flight to the main floor - Go outside - Go inside next door - Go through the correct corridor - Go down one flight to Pimlico Pantry We went the wrong way a couple times, but the staff was very willing to point us in the right direction, so we weren't too bothered by it. The food was definitely worth it, too! The Wi-Fi was serviceable but the cherry on top was truly the Handy phone that came with the room. It's a cell phone that you can take with you out on the town and use for whatever you need - unlimited data, phone calls, what have you. This was perfect for us since we were visiting from out of country - it allowed us to make calls without worrying, we were able to comfortably video chat with family back home, and we used the maps to get around the tube. Not to mention we were able to put our own social media accounts on there since it was wiped at the end of our stay. This phone saved us a bit of money since we didn't have to turn on our international roaming for the time we stayed at the hotel. *thumbs up* read more

My wife and I recently spent three nights in one of the Harry Potter suites offered by The Georgian House, and we were so thoroughly unimpressed that we moved the second leg of our trip to a different hotel. One of the features of the room, an old-fashioned lock and key (think of one you'd see in Zelda or any cartoon), was difficult to operate and thus came off as a poorly conceived gimmick. Once in the room, the promised theme underwhelmed; my wife is the Potter fan, not me, but she informed me that the only real Potter decor in the suite was a wall sticker above the toilet. Otherwise, the room gave off a weak medieval feel, if anything at all. The mattress was comfortable, but too much space existed between it and the headboard. We both spent time each night fishing out our pillows from the crevice. Like most rooms in London, there was no air conditioning, but the window opened and a fan was available upon request. Finally, the on-site breakfast was good and offered a variety of options. I especially enjoyed their vegan "Full English Breakfast." Overall, don't buy into the hype around the Harry Potter Rooms. Make your way to King's Cross and the other Potter-specific locales around London, and do yourself the favor of finding accommodations by there. read more

Overall experience was good, but I have to mentioned a few issues. First the good. Excellent breakfast service. Be sure to get the full menu option. Close to many great dinner restaurants. Room was small but comfy. However were we on the top floor during a heat wave in London. It was hot hot hot up there. The two fans they gave us didn't do much good. The other issue with the top floor is that it's four flights up. After traversing London all day for several days in a row, climbing the stairs became challenging. Only other issue was the staff is all young and were that knowledge about the area or London in general. I would stay here again, but not on the top floor. First thing I'd like to mention is that the B&B is located in a nice neighborhood (which by the way has many other buildings converted to hotels as well) and the staff was pleasant. The breakfast was really good. The reasons for the 3 stars (vs. a 4) is that the room was a bit tight (yes, we did have people in the room) and the bathroom quite tight. Second, we were located on the 4th floor of a walk-up which made getting in and out a little more cumbersome. And (maybe because we're from the US) there was no air conditioning. Were it even remotely warm outside, we would have been uncomfortable. They were also doing some renovations outside (painting) so you wanted to be out of your room before the workers got nearer to your window. For the price of the room, I would have expected a bit more in the way of refinement. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE!! Let me start by saying that I am usually not a complainer. I was raised by a person of military background. I was taught to tolerate in silence. But... This place does not live up to its reviews. I paid about £180 per night and I think the hotel pulled what I would call a "bait and switch". I had seen and booked a nice-looking room online before the trip but feel I was given their worst room when I actually arrived. Our room was not even in the same building as the hotel and required walking a block (including crossing a street). The room looked like part of a renovated old basement or utility room. It was located down a very narrow stairway with a right angle turn at its top. The room was so small it barely had enough floor space for our luggage (two bags) even when they were standing upright - and then there was no place left to walk. There was no ventilation system. In addition, there was a 2' x 3' HOLE IN THE FLOOR covered with a flimsy piece of wood that actually bowed downward and creaked loudly when I stepped on it. I was worried that it might not support my weight. The bathroom was beyond tiny - about the size of two old-style phone booths. There was a single hook on the wall but not enough space to hang a towel. The sink was about 12 inches square - smaller than the size you'd expect in the toilet on a railroad car. There was absolutely NO counter space on which to lay grooming articles. The shower was minuscule. It was difficult to turn around while its door was closed. The sink drain was clogged and wouldn't. On the plus side the room was clean, the toilet flushed, and the bed was comfortable. But these are what I would minimally expect from any room. read more

Apparently you have to complain at this hotel to get decent service. put us into the tiniest room they had (almost like a hostel) with a bathroom in a closet in the annex building, tried to upsell us on a bigger room for 2 nights for extra $$$ also pushed their breakfast upsell on us as well. Walls are paper thin so we heard other guest complaining about the rooms (also being given the upsell). I guess we should have haggled as the other guests that complained got wine, chocolate and a bigger room for only 10$ extra. Pretty lame and felt like a scam and for this reason, one star. Might as well just Air bnb. read more

I stayed in this hotel with my sister and although we made the reservation almost a year in advance, we were put in a small room that really had no similarities to Harry Potter other than that some of the books and a couple of the DVDs were in there. We caught a glimpse of the two other rooms (there are 3 'Harry Potter rooms') and the two others seemed much more thought out and fun. I confirmed with the front desk that we'd booked first but for whatever reason we were put in the smallest and lamest themed room. It was actually very disappointing. For the amount of money we paid and based on the videos, we were expecting more. Be sure to request their main Harry Potter room, the small one in the corner is pretty lame. read more

Cutest hotel ever!! First night in London and this is where I am staying! So this is what I have everything else to compare to! Haha! Super helpful, friendly staff. No problems checking in. Offered to help with bags. Room is clean and has towels, soap, coffee, hairdryer etc. There's a tv, and a cell phone type that supposedly you can take out with you to get a hold of people. *Sigh* I really REALLY wanted this to be amazing. I booked only one night in their wizard chambers for the experience. I couldn't justify more than that as it was pricey in the first place, but so glad that it was only for one night. As other reviews have mentioned that there are some really great touches that they have done to the rooms and it really is super cute. All that goes out of the window for me though if I can't even breath because the smell is so bad. Some people have mentioned it in their reviews and I don't know if it was just on overdrive when we were there but it was bad. We first had a room on the lower level down the stairs. Immediately when we walked down the stairs I smelled it. They had an air mist going strong in the corner on the table. Whenever I see that, I get worried. The first question I think is "what smell are you trying to mask?" Once we got into the room it was like it was condensed. It was extremely strong and potent. I counted four incense holders throughout this tiny room. Again, what are you trying to cover up. We were in the room for ten minutes and both of us had headaches. It was horrible. It was the chemical smell on top of the incense on top of whatever they sprayed. I couldn't handle it, nor do I feel like I should for the price we were paying for one night. The front desk was overly nice. I mean, you can't deny the smell. They said that they had just cleaned the drains but I really don't feel that they was the cause of the problem. Especially now that I'm reading other reviews saying the same thing. Did we all just miraculously stay when they were cleaning the drains? They moved us into another room that was now on top of the stairs, still a wizard chamber. It was much better but still not great. Not what I was expecting at all. The bathrooms are ridiculously tiny too. Even for European standards. I honestly feel like they turned their basement that was meant for storage into these rooms. That is what it felt like. That is what it smelled like too. The kicker is, it is way more to stay in one of these rooms than the others. Extremely disappointing. I know the idea is fun and exciting but my advice is to take that extra money you were going to spend on this room and go shopping at the WB tour. You'll be much happier. It's intimidating to book a hotel in a foreign country. After lots of research I settled on The Georgian house. The largest factors that contributed to my decision were: 1. Cost 2. Location 3. Free breakfast and wifi I've read several conflicting reviews about breakfast being included, we did have it in our rate. Just double check before you book. It was a fairly nice "free" meal, but I would not want to pay for it had if not been included in my rate. Also included in our rate was a bottle of champagne in the room. Yay! I booked a "triple" room and it had a large queen size bed and a single bed under the window. It was a nice size room with two wardrobe like closets, a desk and chair, and an additional chair for seating. (Be sure you check out my photos) The bathroom was small, but functional. Only 1 person at a time for sure! A pocket door separated it from the main room. There were plenty of outlets and an additional mirror in the room, so two people dressing at the same time was not a problem. The room overlooked a small courtyard, and I kept the window open pretty much all the time. There's no AC. Only a couple times in the late afternoon did I wish for at least a fan. There was some noise from the residents on the other side of the courtyard, but in 7 nights I believe I only had a noise complaint once. The staff here was great. They helped before I arrived by correcting an error I'd made in my dates of stay (at no charge). They answered all questions I had, and even printed some items for me at no cost. The hotel has super close proximity to the Victoria Coach Station, a little further to the Victoria Tube Station. The neighborhood seemed very safe, and had plenty of amenities near by. (Grocers for those who book a rate without breakfast!) If I returned to London, I'd stay here again. read more

Great boutique hotel near the Buckingham Palace. Checked this place out 1 day before arriving in London- I saw that they could accommodate five people in one room. We arrived and were directed to our apartment which was about two blocks from the hotel. This setup wasn't entirely clear to me when I made the reservation online but the flat was great! Clean, full kitchen, washing machine, and balcony. Complimentary full English breakfast was wonderful and the staff was great. read more

Maybe a bit tight, and you can't watch TV - which I know sounds weird, but we wanted to watch some Harry Potter, in the land of Harry Potter, in the Harry Potter room - so it's a little clunky. This is pure fraud. We checked in at 1pm, and the room is still messy and the manager is completely clueless about which rooms were cleaned. We ordered a classic quadraple room online, we went in, and it's such a tiny tiny room that was meant for three people (a double bed and a single), but a roller bed was added and it completely blocked our closet, and not a single luggage could be opened due to the very limited space. The bathroom door opens to the head of our bed, and it gets pretty noisy since almost every single thing that goes on in the bathroom could be overheard. Plus the room is pretty humid, without air conditioning. I woke up with puffy eyes this morning, and wouldn't recommend people to stay here. read more

Bed bugs, bed bugs, bed bugs. I normally am suspicious of yelp reviews that begin this way, but seeing as I only spent around four hours here before realizing I was in the midst of an infestation, I think the dramatic start is warranted. Upon discovering bed bugs crawling up the wall, on our socks and in our bed, staff promptly gave us a full refund for our intended two night stay and were understanding even though they tried claiming ignorance, saying they hadn't heard complaints like this before. Bed bugs crawling on the carpet, on the wall, and pretty noticeabley on bedsheets makes me think this is definitely a problem of which staff and management are aware but trying to ignore. I'm from NYC so I understand that pest issues happen but having that many bugs in that many places in one tiny room means this was a situation that did not begin shortly before my arrival, as the staff claimed. Hotel is cute, rooms are quaint but not entirely well-kept, and the breakfast area looked charming. Too bad I didn't get to stay long enough to eat, or even get a good night's sleep... The way staff handled our situation makes me think this potential gem suffers from bad management/ lack of formal hospitality training. While they immediately issued our refund after we showed them video footage of our crawling room, they were useless in assisting us in finding other accommodations or even a cab. As far as I'm concerned, a better hotel with better management would handle their guests-- and their pests--quite differently... read more

I booked my reservations months ahead of time. How was I supposed to predict a pandemic? We were supposed to be celebrating my mother-in-law's 80th birthday, but instead we will be practicing social distancing in order to prevent the spread of the virus. I am completely in shock and appalled by the level of disregard the hotel has been displaying. I emailed to request a cancellation and they responded basically saying that since we are not coming from a "red zone", they would not reimburse us for cancelling. I emailed again and did not even get a response. This is ridiculous!! I hope they understand that post-pandemic, people will want to travel again, but they wouldn't want to stay at a hotel that has very little disregard for the safety of others. No matter how many rewards or accolades you may receive, you should always put people first. I guess the hotel would rather take advantage of others during this pandemic. Sad. read more

Absolutely fantastic!! 3 of us stayed in a triple room consisting of a double and a single bed. The room was of adequate size and came equipped with all that was expected (TV, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities etc). The ensuite bathroom was small but functional and the whole room was beautifully furnished. It's very close to Victoria Coach station (5 min walk) and we stayed here for convenience of location to see the show Billy Elliot - it was a 10 min walk away. The location was great for us. There are lots of stairs up to some of the rooms but we were asked if we wanted someone to bring the bags up to us. I asked for extra supplies to make coffees and the porter appeared seconds later with tons of milks (a whole box! lol) and lots of coffee sticks. The staff were super friendly and helpful and we were able to leave our bags in the hotel after booking out. I'm planning another trip to another theatre in the area and i will definately be booking here again. Only a few things to bear in mind here - *Breakfast wasnt included although we were given the option for an extra £9-ish per person. *Noise of the rooms travel - we stayed in Room 20 and the nearby rooms 18 and 19 left at 5am and were very loud. This isnt a reflection of the hotel though - just inconsiderate guests and this could happen at any hotel. * We were asked to pay on arrival. I've never been asked to do this before so was a bit taken aback. It wasnt a problem though but it seemed strange to me as we were only staying one night. All in all though, we were really pleased with the choice and the standard of the hotel and staff. read more

I'd like to leave some kind of review about the room, but unfortunately I won't get the chance to stay there. The site said to book the Wizard Chamber early so I started submitting requests through the website at least 10 months in advance. After emailing them MULTIPLE times, I finally got a response back from a rep at the hotel. By the time I got a response the rooms were all booked up during the dates of my trip. Super disappointed- both in the response time of the staff and not being able to actually stay there. read more

We stayed here with a large group of women for 3 nights in November and it was wonderful! We were on the 3rd floor facing the street, a little noisy with the street traffic, but after a very long flight and all our days of walking all over London I can honestly say I didn't hear a thing and the window was open! We had a room with 2 twin beds push together, which I liked because you don't disturb your bedmate when you move. We also had a couch by the window. There was a desk, 2 wardrobes and a fireplace. The bathroom was small, but functional (try to find a large bathroom in Europe/UK...good luck!) The breakfast was good, there were a few choices including continental style, a full English breakfast, just eggs or pancakes. Very friendly staff and lucky for us a man to bring our bags up as there is not a lift in this hotel. The location was perfect and close to 2 tube stations and bus stops. We wanted to go out to a pub one night and they recommended one just down the street that had really good food and nice cold beer on tap! If (when!!) I return to London I would for sure stay here again! Thanks Georgian House! We loved it! read more
