Last summer we booked a family suite at the St Ermins Hotel in London, which was perfect for our family of 5...especially since close to so many of londons sites. One year later we were back for a mother daughter trip with another mother/daughter. I originally booked the St Ermins again, but then thought it may be fun to switch it up and stay in a new area of London. A friend/travel agent recommended The Marylebone Hotel, which met all of our requirements: - easy to get around in London - fairly priced by London standards - good shopping/restaurant area We arrived a little cranky from our flight in Edinburgh after a 2 hour Uber from the airport. They greeted us warmly and even told me they had an upgrade for me, although ran out of upgraded for my friend which didn't make her happy. To be fair our rooms were right next to each other and I didn't see a difference so don't think mine was really "upgraded" The rooms like most in London were small. We had 2 twin beds pushed together. It was basically like sleeping in one big bed, but we had our own set of covers which made my 13 year old happy. Everything was very clean and nice, but small. The attached gym was great. It seemed to be a popular local gym so was quite crowded, but if there was room in classes hotel guests could join. I did a leg class one day, which I enjoyed...although got a great leg workout just walking miles and miles around London everyday. The surrounding area was so cute - filled with boutiques (some unique to London and other popular back in the states). There were lots of little cafes to grab a treat as well. We spent a lot of time in covenant garden to see shows on this trip, which was quite the walk but great way to get exercise. And when we returned from the craziness of covenant garden it was nice to be in a quiet area. Breakfast was included in our daily rate. The buffet was adequate and I enjoyed eggs and coffee from the menu. We also received a $50 room credit, which we used to raid the mini bar the last day for some airplane snacks. I thought St Ermins was the perfect pick for my family's first trip to London since it was right next to the tube and near so many sites, but this hotel worked out perfectly for a mother daughter eating, shopping and shows adventure. read more

We just finished a four day stay here. A lovely property with excellent service. The restaurant worked well for the included breakfast and the bar was nice for a light lunch. I love this hotel! Of course, it has an amazing location. It's on a quiet street, but is close to so many shops and restaurants of all kinds (including the wonderful in-house restaurant and bar). I availed myself of the 24/7 room service and was impressed both times. Food was delicious (huge, hot and delicious fish and chips!) and arrived in a very timely manner by kind people. It's a boutique hotel with the amenities (like a pool) of a much larger hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly. (Room tip: if you need a quiet room, try 480. It's up some stairs so don't get it if you can't climb them, but I didn't hear any noise from the hallway or next door.) It's my new favorite London hotel! read more

Stayed here during my time in London and overall would say that it is very clean and professional. The only complaint I may have is that the walls are thin- you can hear when anyone walks/talks in the lobby passing your room clearly anddd you can hear everything happening in the street. Unfortunately, there was construction or something during my visit, so I heard constant ruckus in the mornings. The rooms are quite small and tight, but it is my presumption that most things will be tight from everything I've seen in the area. It is still good enough with all the amenities you may need. The staff is amazing- everyone is extra nice and accommodating. For our last night, we snacked and grabbed drinks in the lobby bar and it was a great experience. My stay at the Marylebone was very, very good. The hotel is charmingly decorated, rooms are very new and fresh, all of the technology was working properly and when we had a minor glitch with a light it was repaired literally within minutes. Nice turndown service with free bottle of bedside water was a good touch. The hotel has a top notch fitness center with a 18m pool, sauna, steam room and spa services which are always nice to have at your disposal when travelling. Although it was a bit cold in the water, the air was warm, and there was a hot sauna or steam room right next to the pool. Ahhhhhh. Great for stretching out and swimming laps. Free wifi woo-hoo! Kind and attentive staff. Excellent manager. Nice touches with service. Herbal tea sent up near bedtime. Fruit and chocolate in room. Free bottles of water at bedtime. Attention paid to the type of room I needed. Quiet. Three chairs a desk and small table. Queen bed. Room for improvement. My mattress seemed a little soft...could use a new mattress. But I always woke without any backache! Maybe I'm just not used to a non-pillow top mattress. Down pillows or regular. Nice. Doorman and concierge helpful. Feels friendly & attentive and has a more personal touch than the bigger chains. The staff seems to know our name, even the doorman. I booked a deluxe room which is bigger than standard. Requested higher floor and got 6th floor. Liked our quiet cozy room. Very quiet room. No noise from hallway! At night can't hear any traffic. Room was big enough for our comfort. If you like a huge room this isn't it. Bathroom was a comfortable size although not large certainly big enough. Medium size bathroom. Shower nice although situated over a narrow tub I feel regretful about checking out of the Marylebone which is my ultimate sign of a lovely stay. read more

A very rushed trip materialized overnight to London, UK, in time for the Cricket World Cup! We stuck a pin in the very central to everything- Marylebone District and got last minute reservations for The Marylebone Hotel. An elegant hotel, the resturant, bar and cafe on the ground floor also serves as a rather popular watering hole for various fine folk and we found them scattered in various nooks & crannies & at The 108, lunching & supping & meeting for teas et al! Our room was bright, spacious and well appointed. The beds & linens are quality with Malin + Goetz making an appearence in Bathroom amenities. All this was fine & dandy for such a hotel but what was outstanding absolutely all around were the people that work at TM! There is a uniform level of cheerful attentiveness from the Front Desk checking us in,to the Bell Hops, to the Guest Relations Manager & actually every server in the Guest Lounge, where we found ourselves for a few times between dash ins & dash outs. It became a home away from home for us very quickly. TMH also has an indoor pool, a gym & spa & I believe, a roof top bar though we did not get to any of these 3 due to so much to do outside. Making an excellent impression on us was the efficient yet very warm FO Manager, Gunter S, as well as the affable Sergio & Stan. I highly recommend TMH! Good Guest Relations makes all the difference in world class city like London. read more

Centrally located in Marylebone within walking distance of a wide range of shops and restaurant. I thought the rooms were small and it can get a little stuffy if the A/C is not running (which has an automatic shutoff) Keeping the window open was the simplest solution bearing with the outside noise. The furniture provided is the least practical given the size of the room. For instance, the television should be mounted on the wall to free the desk space. The navigation system on the television is rather slow which can be a somewhat frustrating. The restroom is also quite cozy and the bathtub should be removed to allow for a more spacious shower. The bed are too soft in my opinion (that's a personal preference) and a range of pillow options would be nice. The access to the gym is definitely a plus. The gym features a pool and a spa. The lobby bar is decent and the staff quite friendly. The same can be said for the 108 pantry restaurant although I find the evening staff to be less friendly and/or disgruntled. The room service is usually quick with a few 24hour options including a fantastic club sandwich. Overall, I think it is a great hotel minus a few details. read more

While I loved the fantastic gym, great boutique feel, and location, I was disappointed by the noise level: it is a very noisy hotel and from my room I could hear anyone talking in the corridor and from room next door. I am absolutely not sensitive to noise, having lived in Manhattan for 10 years and having three kids, but given high standard of hotel, I was so surprised ... Also ... wifi was the worst I have seen in years ... free but one minute to load a webpage, forget about sending 10 pictures to your friends via whatsapp. Hopefully they can fix that. Apart from that, I would come back, as amenities are great (lap pool of 18m !) and location is awesome. read more

Beautiful hotel. Lovely room service options, great comfortable rooms with AC and minibar. Gym is first class - and spa available also. Price isn't bad for location at all. My only issue is the bathrooms are tiny. Not in the suites I'm assuming, but the standard room....I think I could have a poo, brush my teeth and shower all at once. Not that I'd want to. But the option is there. Beds and TVs are great - and you're so close to so many great bits of london, you won't have time to relax in the matchbox bath anyway. read more

I cannot wait to return again and again. The Marylebone Hotel has the most attentive service! You're surrounded by smart, willing-to-help employees, that cultivate a lovely atmosphere at the hotel. The interior design is absolutely gorgeous -- edgy yet traditional and British in the same sense. I'm in the design industry, and it *feels* so good to be seeped in rich design at this hotel. The bathrooms are covered in marble, rooms have thick heavy drapes, and the breakfast room -- I could not think of any place better to start the day. They have papers to read and fresh squeezed juice options. They really go beyond to make you feel special here. Lovely turndown service. The location is right in the center of Marylebone charm (very best shopping, coffee shops, restaurants, etc.). I come from the West Village/NYC, and the neighborhood has the same "lively-but-quiant/intimate" charm about it. To me, it is the very best location in London. And still - it is the people and employees of this hotel make it the wonderful place that it is. I highly, highly recommend The Marylebone Hotel for a cultured, rejuvenating stay. read more

I've stayed here four times now, and they're pretty good. For the price, it's almost a five star rating from me. Ah, eff it. Five stars it is! Here's why: 1. They recognize me when I pull up in the taxi. That's a nice feeling. And ranked as number one because I am apparently self-obsessed. 2. Free upgrades. Two of my four stays, I've been bumped up to a better room. Nice! 3. Free access to The Third Space gym. Hello! Best gym I've been to in London, and I've been to maybe six or seven. I love it. Freeeeee! 4. Tea, fruit, and chocolates with turn-down service. Don't mind if you do! 5. Toiletries are nice. My ladyfriend likes the hand lotion so much I have to steal, I mean borrow, a few bottles each time I go. 6. Decent bar and restaurant, too. Though nothing to get that excited about. 7. The price! For the area, it's relatively cheap. Anywhere from 155-185 for a regular room. That's good. The only downside I can think of is that the little elevator in the back that leads to and from the gym, it smells like an egg fart, anytime of day or night. It's so weird. If there was a way to get to the gym without using the elevator or walking around the entire perimeter of the building, aka some internal stairs, I would do it. It's embarrassing - people get in the elevator and they think it was you. It wasn't! It smells like this all year round! They give you a water on departure, too. It's nice. I drink it on the way to the airport and think, yep, I'll be back. And I will. I've stayed at about 11 or 12 hotels in London and this is definitely my favorite, primarily due to the gym, the service, and the price. I've got a fantastic four mile loop that I run, that weaves through most of Hyde and part of Kensington parks, too. Ahh, just writing about it is giving me a Maryleboner. read more

The hotel itself is gorgeous. The rooms are spacious and well equipped for everything you would need for a short stay. It really was very luxurious in terms of decor and style. Unfortunately though, this gorgeous, luxurious hotel was severely let down by the service. I can't fault the staff in terms of manners but I found it very frustrating whenever I asked for something and faced a blank expression. They lacked energy or any sense of urgency and we had to wait long periods of time for pretty much everything during our stay from checking in, to room service to food in the bar. One of our party got stuck in one of the lifts and even waited 40 minutes to be rescued!!! Not the level of service you would expect from a hotel that boasts on its website as being a 'haven of understated and contemporary luxury that turns even the briefest of stays into a genuine pleasure'. read more

On my last 2 trips to London I stayed here. I really like the boutique feel of this hotel. Its very charming yet swanky and very comfortable. The standard "deluxe" rooms are on the small side but its just enough space for 1 or 2 and nicely appointed, very clean contemporary lines. The bed linens are just right and the bathrooms are nicely designed, loved the materials used and best of all it felt clean. The price is very competitive. One thing I have to say, the hallways were a bit claustrophobic and creepy if you have a room at the very end of the hall you need to get to in the dead of night. Try to get a room fairly close to the elevator. The colors throughout the hotel are very nice and rich. It really gives you the feeling of luxury but yet still maintains that boutiquey charming feel. The common areas are very nicely decorated and definitely have that romantic feel. There are scented candles everywhere! While most will find this wonderful, it was just a bit much for me. Hotel stay came with breakfast. I enjoyed the offerings: deli meats, bacon!!!, baked goods, muesli, yogurt smoothies, cheeses, wonderful fruit selections and so much more. I even got very tasty soy lattes... thats right soy! They even made one for me to "take away". Make sure you indicate take away, they will not understand the funny american term "to go". The location is perfect, its nestled in a wonderful charming neighborhood but very close to great shopping (Regent Street) and wonderful sidewalk restaurants (off of Wigmore). I felt like everything was walking distance or you had Oxford Circus nearby to take the underground. I did not get to use their business conference center as it was closed the evening I needed it (due to a big meeting they had set up for the next day) and unfortunately there were 6 of us that needed to prepare for a big presentation for the next morning. With quite a bit of discussion we were given what I would call the "romantic sports" room. It had very dim lighting and was lavishly appointed in rich red decor but had a huge big screen tv. So there we were the 6 of us pulling our velvet chairs together and scooting all the lighting we could find so we can work on our laptops. I found this a bother so would not recommend this hotel for group business needs. I still enjoyed my stay overall for both occasions, location was great, price was right, rooms were charming and nicely appointed, breakfast was good and staff mostly courteous so would recommend for those on personal/romantic get away or single business travel. read more

While my stay here was very positive & the hotel a beautiful experience, I was charged twice for my stay. I sent several emails, spoke to different people on the staff and was promised multiple times that they would refund the card. It's been two weeks and still no refund (a value of $974). I plan on never staying here again and plan on recommending to my company's travel agent Concur to flag the hotel so no further employees stay here after this incident. read more

I'm am very torn as I write this. So many qualities of this hotel warrant a much more favorable rating, but some of the basics, they just can't get right. The Bad: Checked into the hotel, got to my room, and it was blistering hot. Granted it was an unusually warm summers day in London, but the AC, she was not working. However, "someone" must have known since the window was kept open. Called down to the front desk, they sent someone up, confirmed it was indeed broken. The offered solution was to move me to a smaller room for the night, then to another room the next day. While I appreciated there was a solution, having to unpack, pack, then unpack again is just a flat out pain. I will give them some credit for trying to be apologetic, but a simple "Sir, I know it's been a long night for you. Could I send up a bottle of wine to help ease the edge" or "I know it's late, but if you haven't eaten, I'll gladly send something up to help get you well rested". I mean, it was 12:30am am by the time I got to a different room and settled. A small gesture, which couldn't be more than £10, would have gone a long way. Coffee Maker - what else? Of course it was not functioning in the new room. By this time, with yet another equipment failure, I just couldn't be bothered. I'm no hotel operations expert, but isn't there some sort of "room readiness" check or something? The Heavy Handed Waiter - don't know his name, but there's a youngish looking guy with a tattoo on his neck that has the biggest, heaviest Hulk-hands ever. Setting the tableS (yes, many of them, ALL morning) next to me, he was just slamming the plates and silverware down like they owed him money. Thanks for the morning wake up call, mate. DO NOT DISTURB - worse offense yet. Had the DND sign hanging on my door this afternoon. It's my first day of this business trip that I could sit and relax a bit and maybe have a nap. Heard a tap (not in the poetic Allen Poe sense) at the door. "Room service" a voice said. Then another tap. "Room service". Then...door OPENS. I was just getting to sleep. What good is the do not disturb sign? And...if the sign was there, does this hotel normally just enter rooms when the guest clearly doesn't want anyone to enter (whether the guest is present or not)??!?!? The Good: - The night manager was apologetic, but again, missed an opportunity to show how service can shine. - Hotel property is quite lovely, well kept and updated, and in a very nice part of town near Regent's Park and the Bond St station. - Lobby service - the gents down in the lobby have been very helpful and always good spirited, without being over the top. - Breakfast - as continental breakfast go, very nice selection of meats, cheeses, juice, and breads. The big screen mounted upon the wall in the lavishly decorated Marylebone Hotel showed the story of our Queen, and her Royal Family; the ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and this created the atmosphere for our delightful Jubilee themed Afternoon Tea. The tea selection was vast, and was well explained by our waitress. They were so good in fact then we ended up trying over 4 flavours between us, and I couldn't pick a favourite! Once our tea was served a stand of sandwiches, cakes and scones were brought to our table for us to enjoy. And enjoy we did, with outstanding fillings such as Coronation Chicken, and Devilled Egg it was shame when the platter came to an end. But alas, there were still the divine scones and cakes to get through. After filling ourselves to the brim with all of the delights they put before us, and polishing off a bottle of perfectly paired champagne. There was one more thing left to do, try more tea! Letting our waitress pick her favourites we were certainly not disappointed. Silver Needle Tea is meant to help your digestive system and you really need it after the amount you're given! I'd highly recommend this as one or your main stops over the Jubilee Weekend. read more

I really enjoyed staying in this little section of London. Location: The hotel was very central to the city though not the most easily accessible to the tube/buses (required a few blocks walk). I was walking distance to both Regent's and Hyde Park, all the shopping on Oxford Street down to Picadilly Circus, SOHO, Covent Garden and Trafalgar square. Many buses run through the area and the Bond Street stop has both the Central line and the Jubilee line. There were a range of very casual to very fancy restaurants easily accessible from this location to enjoy, literally steps away from the hotel lobby. If you're looking for something that is best for the historic sights, this may not be the hotel for you given that it's a little more north. It's rather close to Paddington station which I used to get in and out from Heathrow after a short uber ride (every ride seemed to be roughly 5 pounds). You can also get here by taking the Picadilly Circus line to Green Park and switching to the Jubilee line for one stop to Bond Street which costs you much less than the Heathrow Express from Paddington but takes an hour. Hotel Room: As for the room, they're smaller in size as expected in major European cities. They have the availability of variousI had a hair dryer missing and my phone didn't work (look at service to see followup). The toiletries were nice from Aromatherapy Associates (I didn't know about this brand prior but could tell by my hair, skin and the price of the hotel it had to be nice and it seems pretty pricey). The bathroom and room were clean. The building is not new nor is it newly refurbished but maintained well. Has outlets for US and other european cities access in addition to the british one, but only one near the desk. They come to clean the room and then have PM turndown service where they leave you 2 delicious chocolates. Hotel Service: The front doormen were extremely courteous but not always attentive. Many time I just walked in myself especially in the evening hours which is fine but when you're paying for the luxury feeling it was extra special when they were engaged. During the daytime I would say they were more-so engaged. They had a quick check in process, I requested a street view and a higher floor, both of which they accommodated but told me it would take 30 mins or I could have an internal facing lower floor that was ready immediately. I didn't mind the wait and they held true to the time duration. My room was quite warm the first day without a powerful AC given that it did get sun during the day. Don't know that this would be ideal for a summer stay. Once I realized my phone wasn't working and my hair dryer was missing I let the front staff know and within a few hours they fixed the phone and I had a hairdryer in place. It was just annoying to go through and would be nice if someone checked all these things prior to me occupying the room. A tip here is to check your bill when you checkout because I had a 1 pound charge for the phone I didn't use (may have been because they were trying to test it) and a a SURPRISE 4 pound fee for just bringing the tray to you for room service? Which I thought was kind of bs but it wasn't a lot of money so I paid it and didn't make a fuss. I got room sevice one day so it didn't add up to much and that was very quick and my cider was cold and chips hot- perfect. Restaurant: The restaurant in the hotel was also quite good, filled with locals not only people staying in the hotel. I had the tuna appetizer there one night and it was some of the most amazing tuna I've ever had. The wine and carrots were fine, but nothing like that tuna! I was charged here inappropriately for 2 glasses of wine which they had promptly fixed.They also were rated a few places for their gluten free high tea which I didn't participate in. End Impression: I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone who is more of a shopper than a sight-seer. I would check my room to make sure all was in order my first day so that I could address things earlier, check every bill to make sure no funky add ons were included and enjoy the AMAZING location and bath products. Don't be shy about having a meal or tea in the hotel, it actually is one of the perks of staying here. read more

My colleague and I also enjoyed a drink (or two) in their lobby bar and were taken care of by the Manager Greg, who is just fantastic! He is on top of service with a very kind and courteous staff. I stayed at The Marylebone Hotel from Dec 20-22rd, 2013.......it was a great experience. Ironically an even more special (and memorable one!) as the courteous staff there assisted me re: some initial drama (my deal, not the hotel) minutes after arriving at the hotel.......... Upon checking-in after a looooooong non-stop from Los Angeles to London, I realized my wallet was missing from my handbag. A very frightening realization.....as it had my entire life in from credit cards to my healthcare card to my California drivers license. Scariest part, this was only day 1 of my 23 day overseas trip. Fortunately I was carrying some pounds sterling that was in a separate envelope in my bag. Anyways........ I had a strong sense that left my wallet somewhere at the airport vs. it being stolen. Gunther at the front desk at the hotel along with Rahim (manager) helped call around and yes, we finally tracked it down at Heathrow - a miracle in and of itself! Since my room had already been fully paid for (at the time of my online booking!), they allowed me to still check in to a room. I quickly dropped stuff off in my room and jetted off back to Heathrow. I was able to retrieve my wallet - thanks to some very honest store owners at the arrival lounge (where I stopped to buy something before taking the Heathrow Express in to London). Back at the hotel, finally at 9pm........I came straight to the front desk to put a credit card down for incidentals during my stay......and Gunther, with a smile on his face handed me another card along with my credit card and said "I think you might need this tonight".......it was a card (voucher) for a complimentary drink at the bar. Super thoughtful. 180 Bar/ Lounge + Restaurant: very charming, great staff and delicious food. I ended up having a drink and dinner at the hotel that same night. Everything was great.......vibe, staff, menu + food. I ordered the fish n chips and yes, a drink - an amazing cocktail......made with fresh juices and tons of mint leaves! Overall, loved the intimate + beautiful boutique feel of The Marylebone Hotel......had a great room w/a smallish bathroom (smallish by american standards, not European. random note = loved all the fittings in the bathroom, major plus = heated floors). Also, loved the the spa downstairs, juice bar at 180 for healthy smoothies and fresh pressed juices, super professional/ friendly staff .......AND Marylebone being a great neighbourhood in London. Me and my wife stay there for 2 nights. so its not as flossy as hotels in Vegas for same rates , but compare to London's prices , this is amazing place. you will never get a better hospitality and great service by the staff !! they make you fill like home. i will defiantly will come back. While I am not a frequent, world-traveler, i have traveled enough to know a 5-star place when i meet one. The Marylebone gets this rating, in my book. Absolutely everything was perfect: our room was spotless and very well appointed; we slept like babies on a bed that was comfortable and cool; the in-room coffee was excellent (Nespresso), bottled water complimentary and chocolates on the bed every night. We ate breakfast at the hotel, and it was perfect. We would have eaten there again, but there are too many other wonderful places in the area. And, the bar. What can i say. The bartenders are fantastic, the drinks are excellent. Reflective also of the rest of the staff. Bravo Marylebone! i hope to return soon. read more

We were only here for one night, but really enjoyed our stay at the Marylebone. The rooms are on the smaller side, but you don't really feel it since they're quite well-appointed. The location is excellent-on a quiet, beautiful street but within easy walking distance to major shopping and the tube. The staff is friendly and helpful. Also, would definitely recommend this as a choice for Italian speakers, as the entire staff is evidently Italian! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! An essay worth writing! :) I recently stayed at the Marylebone for 2 nights on the 19th December 2014, it was my first experience staying here and it was very brilliant! I stayed in a superior double room (perfect for couples), with a view of London's rooftops and other tall buildings. The bedroom and bathroom and the hotel itself was very clean and fresh. The bedroom had enough space to empty the suitcase in the wardrobe and a table and dresser. The pool and spa ( including sauna/steam room) facilities were so clean and the aroma was so peaceful perfect, for the mornings. Mini bar full to the brim with a wide selection of beverages and the hotel has wifi !! Situated right in the middle of everything. As stated, there is 24/7 cab service right outside hotel which was so convenient for travelling around London. However, the tubes are cheaper! Staff at the hotel are most welcoming,helpful and attentive! Very polite on the phone when calling reception for any information or requests and even when leaving or arriving to the hotel. Made to feel special. This was my first stay in London and I will be definately staying here again in the near future. If you feel sceptical about this hotel, there is no need, it is everything it says it is. read more

This the first time I have stayed here and I was pleasantly surprised. The value and location is only one of the great aspects of the hotel. It's in one of the best spots in London, centrally located to great restaurants and pubs. The gym associated with the hotel is one of the best gyms I have ever been in. This is a very comfortable place to stay in central london. An excellent welcome and very well appointed.

I personally haven't stayed at this hotel, but acquaintance who have stated it's lovely. What I have done is to go there for their afternoon tea, which is better than anything I have tried for a long time. How can you beat homemade pastries, scones with cream and really superb sandwiches. There is also a choice of 6 different types of tea brought for you to savor and enjoy. You can have as much as you want; all served by the most helpful and pleasant staff. read more

Great hotel. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms. Stayed here twice in a recent Europe trip and both times were excellent service and nice rooms. The rooms though are very small so for two people (I was just one) it would feel cramped. Location is fantastic although a bit of a walk to the tube. Overall great hotel. Staying here quite often for business reasons. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful to find good restaurants or fix the broken TV. Early check-ins are never an issue - if rooms are available. Rooms are updated- nice design, awesome mattresses but can be tiny though, which is pretty common in London I know, but some rooms are really so tiny you will have problems opening your suitcase somewhere. Breakfast is standard I would say. Nicer in the cafes in the neighborhood. Dinner in the restaurant was a bummer. Wineglass had some leftover lipstick, it was immediately exchanged. The burger was pretty dry (even it was medium cooked) and the salad with Parmesan is just not worth it. Green leaves with 3 (!) pieces of Parmesan and some balsamic sprinkles. I like the location of the hotel - close to work and close to nice shopping destinations. Price - value I would expect a little more. read more

Very nice hotel in a great location. It is a 5-minute walk to the Bond Street tube station and very near lovely Italian restaurants (Carluccio's) and local pubs & shopping. The concierge is helpful and friendly, and the front desk was eager to please. The rooms are very clean and tidy; the evening cookies and chocolate at turn-down was a very nice touch. The rooms are small and the bathrooms REALLY small. That being said, the mattress is VERY comfortable and the pillows are great! It is in a quiet location assuring a very good nights rest. I would absolutely stay here again when I return to London. All in all- a great value. read more

I am ONLY writing to review the afternoon tea at the Marylebone, not the hotel rooms, etc. My family of four (kids 11 & 7) wanted to end our week's vacation in London with an afternoon tea. On a previous trip my husband and I had tried Brown's, which was fine, but we were not wed to going back there. I found a UK afternoon tea website with special offers and the Marylebone Hotel's tea was on offer. We made the reservation easily on line for tea that same afternoon. We arrived a bit early and our table was waiting. Tea is served in the lobby/lounge area---a series of rooms, all stylish & unique. The table was set for tea with very pretty china, cloth napkins, etc. Our server---Margaret--brought out the selection of teas in vials for us to sniff. We each made our selection (two Early Greys, one chamomile and one lemon verbena) and we were on our way. Margaret brought us each our own teapot, and four tiered stands filled with sandwiches & scones (four sandwiches per person---the egg salad was especially good---two scones each, devon cream and jam). When we had enjoyed our fill of those treats, Margaret invited us to select from a serving board filled with cakes and pastries. The Victoria sponge was especially popular with our group. There were also jammy dodgers, macaroons, chocolate mousse. All delicious This is a first rate tea in a relaxing, elegant environment. And I cannot say enough about how lovely our server, Margaret, was. She was especially sweet with our children, very attentive to all of us--just great. Highly recommend. read more

We spent 2 weeks in London at the Marylebone hotel. The best part of our stay was the staff. The building itself is not without issues here and there due to age, but the staff is responsive and addresses issues immediately. For example, we were in a room where the air conditioning was a bit noisy and were moved immediately. Its located right off the high street and perfect for shopping and quick access to restaurants. It also provides access to a very good fitness center in the hotel building that has current machines and fun classes such as TRX, spinning, yoga, etc. We have stayed there so many times yhat we have our favorite rooms which Gunther remembers and holds for us. Christos in the breakfast service always has a smile and seems to remember our breakfast orders as well. Gunther at the front desk always make sure we are well taken care of and that's why it's our go to place to stay in london. It's a more intimate, homey place to stay in a big cosmopolitan city! read more
