We had lunch here yesterday. We were the only patrons there for our entire meal. Employees were super nice and barkeep super friendly and helpful. Prices average island $100/4 plus 2 cocktails. Plans to go back for dinner this week. We ordered the burger no bun for my our SN teen, I had the grilled chicken salad ...chicken was beautifully grilled. My husband ordered the lobster rolls which he raves about and the yOunger teen ordered the shrimp pasta and ate it all up. He loved it as well. Good food, gorgeous view and friendly folk. read more

We stopped here after a day traveling around the island for a drink before we got on the ferry back to St Kitts and ended up staying for a wonderful meal. We were the only people in the restaurant and it was wonderful. I had a mango colada and my husband had a banana colada. Both were amazing. I had the homemade mushroom ravioli which were incredible, best I ever had! My husband had the fish sandwich which he said was great. It's expensive but the quality was great and the portions were huge. I'll admit I want to go back and get my own banana colada. read more

BEST BEST BEST Food on Nevis!!! We tried all the top rated restaurants (7 or so) around the island but none of the others whose prices were as high as,if not more in some cases, weren't even close to the quality here. While the competitors had average, commonly prepared fare that we can get at any hotel in the states, the Gin Trap chefs somehow create masterful meals that we still crave. You can get glimpses of the geniuses doing their thing and it looks like serious business but they are having a good time .Need to get back there !! BEST BEST BEST and easy to get to location with the only breathtaking sun set view on the island looking out Northwest towards St Kitts! (No sense dining in a jungly mountaintop that feels unsafe to get to. We did and realized there was no good reason to go back to those establishments ) Good for kids - seating, lounging & ours finished all their food themselves. Good for seniors/retirees with choices on seating, lounging, steps or no steps . Oh and although the name The Gin Trap does indeed invoke their own creative gin concoctions, have no fear that they have a great wine, beer and cocktail selections for those of us that don't actually drink gin- you will not be shunned by the bartender!! This is a lovely spot overlooking the bay separating Nevis from St Kitts. For dinner I had the spiney lobster. Very good but no tools to crack the shell or pick out the meat. Rice and vegetables were well prepared and tasty. My wife had the red snapper that she thought was overcooked but wonderful vegetables. Delicious roll. Great conch soup and Ceasar salad. We each had a glass of Sauvignon Blank which we enjoyed. My wife had their house special gin Cosmo and the Classic Margarita-both very good. read more

Great local fish! They have about 100 different gins too. We had a great gin and tonic.

Try to arrive in time for sunset, and enjoy a wide selection of gin with tonic on the patio before dinner. We had the fresh catch red snapper and slow-smoked ribs! read more
