I was billed for a "complicated visit" when it was a routine sick visit about an acute situation…read more When I asked for more details about the charge it was quickly removed as a "one time" courtesy, but then I received a double down on why it was an appropriate charge which seemed canned and generated by AI and was not reflective of the chart notes or the experience. Not only is this terrible customer service but it suggests that similar improper charges will repeat in the future and that the practice does not take accountability for its billing beyond maximizing the cost to the patient and delegating the patient relationship outside of the exam room to non-doctors (frankly further making the billing code I challenged bogus at its core because it indicated it related to the doctor managing the continuing care relationship). I was also a patient at Southdale Pediatrics when I was a child and continued the relationship for my son with the belief that we would get personalized care. Moving away from an actual doctor patient relationship to an experience where a bot manages the relationship entirely soured me on the practice. It is not the way to provide a professional service.

We picked this clinic because it's close to home, and we're new patients here. In less than a year,…read morewe had quite a few bad experiences. 1. messed up billing -- their billing department didn't even submit the bill to the correct insurance address. We use Cigna, it is not a small provider, it's hard to understand how that could happen. I've had to call back and forth between the clinic and the insurance company multiple times, and the issue still isn't resolved after 6 months and 4 phone calls (include one three parties call). 2. they missed a vaccine for our baby. I was told the Dr. for that visit forgot to subscribe that one. Luckily (?) they found out later and call us, we have to go again within one week. But after that I feel it is not something small you can just overlook. What if they hadn't caught it at all? 3. Rude Dr. Manney. The worst part was seeing Dr. Manney. He seemed irritated the whole time, like he didn't want to be there. He looked annoyed when our kid was just trying to playing with me when he talks, and even rolled his eyes when we asked questions. When I was about to ask one more thing, he literally said "I need to go" and walked out. It was honestly shocking, considering we waited for more than 30 minutes and only had chance to ask questions in the short 10 minutes visit. The front desk staff have always been kind, but kind front desk staff can't make up for medical mistakes, bad communication, and a doctor who clearly doesn't want to be working with kids.

After asking everyone we know with kids and doing endless research online, we selected New Kingdom and set an appointment with Dr. Reed. The nursing staff that came in to take vitals were great and knowledgeable. They were friendly as well, making us feel very welcome. The Dr Reed came in. She was fantastic. She has a wealth of knowledge of pediatrics and has years of experience and has seen it all. She would talk about how some current trend started years ago and replaced another trend that came out of another trend. We talked about a range of topics and she answered all of our questions with ease and she was very present with us - she did not at all appear as though we were annoying her or driving her crazy with all of our new parent questions. The office staff was great here, too. I highly recommend this practice.

She asked a lot of questions to understand what was going on. Gives holistic approaches to things. They are very popular (Albertville) and you usually have about a month out to get an appointment so keep that in mind. Check with your insurance to see if they are in network as well. They recently moved into a new facility so it was fairly cold in the rooms while they work on the HVAC.
