We love it here! If you are expecting, check it out early as there can be a wait list in the infant room.

Okay, everything about this place was incredible. I was truly blown away…read more First of all, it's super clean. We came here at a 3pm on a Monday afternoon and there was maybe one or two other guests playing there. It was a quiet start. Even with the uptick in guests later on, the employees were consistently cleaning up after the children and putting toys back to where they had originally been. It's $12 per kid with adult and $4 per additional adult guest. They don't currently offer membership options but they do have discounted Open Play package plans available: 4 play sessions for $44, 8 play sessions for $84, or 16 sessions for $156. They are designed for children aged 6 months up to 6 years. I absolutely loved the music they played which can best be described as low-fi and chill vibes all around. Just as an example, El Michels Affair- C.R.E.A.M. I can honestly say that this is the first time I've heard music sampling Wu-Tang at a kids play place but I ain't mad about it. There are classes on Mondays and Fridays for the "older kids" aged 3-6. The room looked super cool. They start off with a circle time style stories and songs then move off to the (baby) gated area with multiple sensory play experiences set up on tables. They've got a "calm room" complete with sensory sequined pillow and other touch opportunities, puzzles, books, glitter tubes, and noice cancelling headphones for kids feeling overwhelmed or needing to decompress. There is a variety of robots/toy cars/bugs on shelves on the left hand wall for kids to play with in the quiet (calm) room. The 2 bugs are the only ones that are not remote control operated and can be played with in the main play area. Ask an employee for help and they will unlock the cabinet and provide you with the remote control and instructions for how to operate these toys. They've got wi-fi, classes, so much fun stuff everywhere, and a food and drink area that offers kid snacks for purchase as well as complimentary coffee and tea for the adults! Amazing. Everything about the Wonder Lab is so thoughtfully designed. It is such a cozy and fun and welcoming place and you can really see and feel the effort put into the play space. All the spaces are utilized so well and with varying themes throughout (outer space, arctic felt wall, etc). I could go on and on. I love the Wonder Lab!!!

I was so impressed that we ended up booking a birthday party there and that was the easiest birthday experience I've had in a long time. They can provide everything and have the room all decorated, you just show up with the kids and your guests and have a great time. We'll be doing another birthday party there in a month!

The friendly/knowledgeable worker walked us in the lamb pen - clearly explained the rules then gave us some food and the friendly lambs came over for lots of snuggles. When done with the snuggles we could go explore. First we went to the clean restroom to wash, then headed over to the other side of the pond to pet the goats. There were also bunnies, chickens a donkey and a mule. You can buy local beer, wine and drinks, walk through the gift shop and pick and eat berries. They also have live music- check the website.

TLDR: Enchanting, engaging farm in Durham offering lamb snuggles, goat petting, live music, games,…read morecamps, and more. The farm also has sheep, chickens, bunnies, donkey, mule, gift shop, seating areas, air conditioned restrooms, handwashing stations, and a pond. We had a lovely experience at Old Mill Farm recently. It was a much needed peaceful retreat and return to nature. We could have spent all weekend just relaxing on the deck watching the animals and snacking on fresh blackberries. We arrived a little late for our lamb snuggle session, however, the employee who greeted us was so understanding and welcoming. She introduced us to the lambs, clearly stated the rules, and answered all of our farm questions. After feeding and petting the adorable sheep for 45 minutes, we explored the rest of the farm. We washed our hands, walked around the pond, pet the goats, perused the gift shop, and visited the chickens, sheep, donkey, mule, bunnies, and vineyards. The fresh blackberries in the vineyard were large, refreshing, and delicious. At that point we were soaked in sweat and decided to wash our hands and head out. We did play all four "carnival" games before leaving. Local: we appreciate their emphasis on supporting other local businesses in what they offer at the bar and in the gift shop. Food/drink: Bar stocked with local beer, mead, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic options. No restaurant on site but they sometimes have a food truck. Customer service: I forgot her name, but the farmer leading our group was incredible. She was so welcoming, patient, and passionate about the farm animals. Parking: large, labelled dirt parking lot near the donkey and mule enclosure. Reservations: needed on specific days/times/events. The website lists when reservations are needed. Price: check the website for free visit days/times. Some events do have a cost. Lamb snuggling was $10/person (for 5 people) and included food for the lambs and a self-guided tour of the farm. It was definitely worth the price.
