The teachers are all certified and they are all professional. It is easy to communicate with them as well. The owner and director are superb and treat every kid as their own. The other thing I love is that the older kids have "friday friends" with the younger children. My daughter knows pretty much every kid in the school through this activity, and she loves being a role model to the younger kids. What a fantastic life lesson for her! My daughter attended the school in 2020-2022 and our experience was far from positive. When we…read moretoured and applied in 2020, the school sounded fantastic. Unfortunately between the time we applied and the time we started, the seemingly wonderful head of school left and the board selected someone with no educational experience to replace them. A year later the other, fantastic, member of the original 2-person admin team left. My daughter started in YCC at 18mo. Several times my daughter came home with injuries (head injuries, bite marks) and no incident report or communication from the school. In 2022 we moved into one of the primary classrooms. My daughter initially had an ok experience in primary. But again we found out about several incidents from her that should have warranted an incident report, but never did. This culminated in her telling us that one child had hit and shoved her 3-4 times inn the course of a week. We of course brought this up and the teacher kept trying to tell us this was "normal behavior". We disagreed, and attempted to raise this with the head of school, who ignored us for weeks. In this time we had interactions with several other parents, where upon telling them of the issue we'd get responses like "oh, was it [kid]? My kiddo was getting hit by them too." One other parent told us their kid shook with anxiety about going to school and had to be kept home for a month as a result of bullying by this same kid. It became clear that the kid in question had bullied almost every other kid in the classroom, and the school had done nothing about it. Finally, we got a meeting with the head of school. He started by gaslighting us, telling us we were "complainers" and that he felt "nothing he could do would ever make us happy" - as if enforcing the school's own policies on bullying were too much to ask. We quickly ended the meeting after agreeing that the school would refund us the tuition we had paid for the two-month summer session we wouldn't be attending. The school refused to issue a refund until after the summer session, and then sent us ~$200. Half-day tuition at the school is ~$2,000/month. The refund is laughable and, in my opinion, an intentional fraud. In summary our experience was of an incompetent administration, classrooms that could not provide a safe learning environment for our child, a sudden termination of services and a wholly inadequate refund from a disingenuous head of school.

My 14-month-old daughter used to attend Goddard School Erie at Vista Ridge. She was often crying at…read morepick up and shaking her head 'no' and crying at drop off with the teacher. This was very uncharacteristic of her. One Monday, at pick up my daughter was the only child left and I found her in a corner by herself crying. I was unable to settle her or get her to stop crying until after we got home that night. The teacher told me that my daughter was isolated like that after the other children had been picked up to work on 'regulating her emotions' (at just over a year old?). On Wednesday that week, when I picked her up, she was hysterical (again, this is very unlike her at home or in previous daycare). There was another child still in the class and a second teacher present this time. When I went to lift her up, the teacher told me that my daughter's hair was wet because "she needed to be spritzed a couple of times to help her regulate her emotions when she would not stop crying." I then noticed that her hair was soaked. I looked at the teacher in shock and she pointed at the wall where several spray bottles were hanging up and she stated that "some kids actually like being sprayed." I left immediately to gather myself and calm my child. I then emailed the director and requested an immediate meeting. We requested that a letter be sent to families of other children that could have also been treated this way by their teacher. Since a letter has yet to come out, and may never, I feel responsible to share our story with others. This is especially important since children in these classrooms aren't yet able to communicate these things with us. Ultimately, we lost trust in the school. Felt like there is a big miss here in terms of teacher education and general oversight in the classrooms. We pulled our daughter out. She has since joined a new daycare and is thriving. I am hopeful that the state licensing agency can help the school to reach the standard of other Goddard schools that we have previously known and loved.

When I drop him off in the morning, he giggles and smiles at the teachers. He always seems happy when I pick him up. I love that they write out a little log of what he did all day long. The teachers seems to absolutely love babies and have taught me things about infant care. I look forward to him growing up at the school. The kids in the older classrooms seem so happy every day. They literally run into the school with huge smiles on their faces. I love that they have a curriculum and teach the kids about science, art and music. The kids also seem to learn great social skills and how to work and play in groups. I am so happy we found a place where I know my son is safe, happy, and learning. Of course, I miss him when I am at work, and look so forward to my days at home with him, but I also can relax when I am at work knowing he is loved by his teachers.

Three weeks prior to her expected start date, I called the school asking if they had openings with the toddler classroom. They did, and when they asked what days she would be attending, I asked if they could do a variable three days throughout the week. This is due to the fact that my wife works three days a week as a nurse, but her days aren't set. The school responded that they could accommodate this. The following week, I went in for the tour. During the interview, I again mentioned that we would need the variable scheduling, and was again reassured that they could make it work. We then toured the facility. The facility is fine, and the teachers seemed fine. The toddler room's floor was a little dirty, and the kids were all running around with runny noses... but it is a toddler room with 10 kids, so it is about what I would expect. At this point I was excited to enroll my daughter, and was told that they had some other families looking at the spot in the classroom. My wife and I decided quickly, and by the next morning we had given the Goddard School signed paperwork, and a check for their 'non-refundable' deposit and payment for the first week of care. A few days later, my wife also went in to the school for a tour, and was again told they could accommodate the schedule, although the Director (Marissa) was beginning to grow a little wishy washy about having our daughter attend on Fridays. Still, we felt good, and began filling out the paperwork and purchasing the items that the school requested (lunchbox, bottles, crib sheets, shoes, etc.). We also began migrating our daughter onto their schedule (one nap a day, no bottles, etc.). Finally, on a Saturday night, two days before my daughter is expected to begin at the school, we receive an email from Marissa, the Director, that some of their current families changed their schedule and would no longer be able to have our daughter attend their school. There was no mention of returning our money. Yes, after a three week process of five or six separate reassurances, after we paid and visited twice, after we stopped looking at other schools and canceled our previous childcare arrangements, and only two days prior to when we were supposed to begin, sent with an email to us on the weekend with no one to speak to.... we were told to go pound sand. So, can I recommend the Goddard School? Of course not, because the sheer administrative incompetence, horrible customer service, unprofessional communication and second class treatment never allowed my family to see the school we paid to see. I hope that the teachers and the curriculum are great for you if you try to enroll your child here, but be forewarned that it could be your family that is hung out to dry in the future.

I think it was a Wednesday and our 5-year old daughter came down stairs in the morning and asked, "do I have to go to school today?" I said, "yes, it's a Wednesday." Expecting her to go, "ooohhh no", she surprisingly said, "Yes! That means I get to hug Ms Marnie!" Honestly, I can't say enough positive things about our experience at Primrose. We first took our daughter, AJ, to preschool when she was 3. She is now 5 and in Kindergarten. She has learned so much and developed into such an amazing little girl. We all don't thank our early childhood teachers enough. AJ constantly comes home and tells us all the things her teachers have taught her. "Dad, I already knew that... Ms Marnie taught me" is a common phrase in our house!
