Miss Rose and Miss Kim and their team are the Best for my son. We're doing everything we can to keep our son with them for as long as we can, and we're truly grateful for the experience he receives with them. What can I say about a place that helped me go back to work with piece of mind? A place that literally carried my two other small children into the school when I had my newborn in the car? Before I sent my little ones to Goddard (in Old Bridge) I toured SIX different daycare/preschools. I am taking the time to write this review because the people at Goddard deserve recognition that goes beyond a salary. There is no amount of money I could give and no words I could say that could express my gratitude to Ms. Roe. She has been the Director at the school for decades. She can answer ANY question you have. She is a child whisperer. She knew my kids and could tell me how each of them did each and every day, and if she didn't know off hand, she would immediately ask the teacher. I'll never forget when she called me and told me one of my little ones seemed grumpy and just "off" but he didn't have fever. I picked him up and he still didn't have fever. Sure enough, a few hours later, it turned out he had a terrible virus. Ms. Roe was able to tell my son was sick BEFORE he was actually sick. Not to mention all the little ones that didn't get sick because I picked him up before the fever spiked. I could go on and on about Roe. That school does not function without her. My older sons teacher Ms. Denise is incredible!! My son was crazy about her! He's a picky eater and Ms. Denise made sure he ate something EVERY day! Sometimes she even spoon fed him and he's 3! She is a teacher as well as Assistant Director. Her and Roe together make an unstoppable team. No matter how many times I would call or however many questions I would ask, they never made me feel bad or unwelcome. Quite the opposite. My little ones teacher Ms. Benita is magical. My son was and still is in the terrible two's and has quite a temper which she somehow was able to keep calm. The school is incredibly clean. The hours are super flexible. The staff is extremely devoted and hard working. My little one was in the baby room for a few months and let me tell you that there is NO other daycare with a baby room like this one (out of the six that I saw). Ms. Carole (who is no longer there) was amazing and Ms. Lina and Ms Shelby. They are patient and loving and make sure all the babies are feeling loved and fed and safe. A bit about the playgrounds too... I love that the place is surrounded by trees and they take the kids out whenever they can.They always do special things on holidays like a fun Mother's Day tea party or Halloween. Sadly, we recently had to move out of state which meant I couldn't send my little ones to Goddard anymore. They started at a new place and I can tell you that it costs the same as Goddard but they don't give nearly as much as Goddard did! I almost feel bad for the new school because there's no way they could live up to them. I went days in the new school lugging my infant in a carrier and carrying my two year old in my right arm and all the backpacks in my left and directing my three year old to go up and down the stairs slowly up two flights of stairs in a 100 degree stairwell and only after days of doing this and I finally I told the director I didn't think I could do that everyday and I might need to go elsewhere, she helped me with the bags. I miss Roe so much I STILL call to ask her random questions about my babies. She is an amazing woman. Just remember there is no such thing as a perfect daycare because it is THE hardest job out there. But I am confident in saying this Goddard is as close as they get. Thanks Roe and Ms. Denise. We are very happy parents at Goddard of Matawan. Our daughter has been there for 3 years and she has been having great experience. Since she was 5 months, she has been in the best care. The infant room has the most amazing Teacher, Ms. Carol who loved her like she was her own. Ms. Carol is like the Mary Poppins of Goddard. She can help and fix mostly anything from her ample experience and her calm demeanor. We always got good advice and guidance. Everyone is very friendly and it is clean. We are always greeted with a smile. I have popped in at random times and my daughter was always having fun, engaged in dramatic play or hearing a good book. We had another amazing teacher last year who was the "Potty Whisper." She helped our daughter become potty trained in no time. She loves school and is learning valuable skills to prepare her for Pre-K. All in all our daughter is happy and never wants to leave. read more

This school is amazing. The staff are friendly, polite, professional, and most of all caring. My daughter has learned so much in such a short time. (2mo) At 1.5yro she says a good number of words and does a great job at communicating now. She is less frustrated when making requests or trying to express herself. It's such a relief. They teach the kids how to share and play, but even their play time activities have little hidden lessons in them. The kids have so much fun while they are learning. They have no idea that they are doing so much work. I love that. I want my toddler to enjoy her day while and at the same time she is constantly growing and learning. So...it's worth being away from mommy and daddy. I would recommend this school to anyone I know and care about. read more

Both of my kids have been going to Goddard since April of this year and they have loved it since day one! So have my husband and I! The teachers are amazing and we couldn't think of a better school for our son and daughter to go to. We looked at other schools in the area and none of them came close in comparison to Goddard. Choosing Goddard was definitely one of the best decisions we ever made for our kids. My child started at Goddard School in September of 2011. I have been extremely happy since day 1. My child was only 7 months old when he started but is already doing great.
