At that time--in the depths of COVID--Ms. Eda and Lily Pads put us at ease with how careful, thoughtful, and communicative they were running the center during a crisis. Since then, our daughter has gone through the Purple Owls (1s), Green Frogs (2s), and Orange Butterflies (3s) class. She has loved all of her teachers and made great friends. We feel involved in her school life, from the pictures and updates in the app, to the art she brings home, to the new songs she sings when she comes home. At dropoff and pickup, her teachers make time to provide updates, answer questions, and address concerns. They've all been great. We could go on and on about Lily Pads. Our daughter is the happy, smart, silly, kind toddler she is thanks, in no small part, to Lily Pads. And--no less important--they've given us the space, and peace of mind during our working days so we can be better parents when she gets home. 5 stars, without reservation.

I have pictures of my 3-month-old painting with corn during Autumn, exploring textures by painting on bubble wrap, enjoying music class, engaging in circle time, and learning about the outdoor environment through daily walks...and that was just the beginning! Recent Pre-K lessons included meteorology, biographies, and space, just to name a few! Each day, the lesson plan is intentionally crafted to develop each learning domain! He had been at home prior to starting at Sugar Plums, and we weren't sure how he would adapt to his first daycare experience. I'm thrilled to be able to say that the adjustment was seamless and he (and we) love Sugar Plums! He started in an infant room with two wonderful caregivers. He has since moved up to one of the toddler rooms and has continued to have an equally positive experience.  The teachers at Sugar Plums are warm, caring, mature, well-educated early childhood specialists. At every opportunity, they are down on the child's level playing with, engaging, and calmly guiding the kids. In addition to some of the more foundational aspects that make a daycare great for kids at this age (e.g. low staff turn-over, following a consistent feeding & nap time routine, no screen-time for the kids - or cell phones in the room for the adults, engaging toys and supervised play, very clean toys and rooms, etc.) there are things that make Sugar Plums exceptional.  They take an education-focused approach to their care starting in infancy. They have a weekly curriculum that is shared with parents, and focuses on various aspects of language, sensory, motor, and social development. They also teach baby sign language, and by 12 months our child was regularly using signs to communicate things like "I'm hungry" "more food" and "all done." And he learned this all at Sugar Plums, and we just followed his lead at home.  They also use a wonderful App, called Precious Status, to keep parents updated throughout the day. It provides real-time updates about every meal, snack, bottle/sippy, nap start & end time, and outside time, and we even get pictures of our child doing various activities throughout the day. It's truly a wonderful thing to have. (I've attached a screen print from my phone as a sample.) Lastly, in our experience the other kids and parents at Sugar Plums are great. Our little guy is already making good friends, and the parents I've met have been very genuine and down to earth. It's great to be surrounded by people like this as we all try to navigate work and life while raising tiny humans!  Overall, Sugar Plums has exceeded our expectations and we are so glad that we chose to enroll our child here.

We had made this mistake before when we thought oh...we are paying solid $$$, so probably kid will have solid fun and development. We paid solid $$$, but we got just minimum daycare from Geneva. We have seen some really good programs....so we have very good perspective on when schools are just for minting money and when school really put 100% or 200% effort to help with child development. Cmon guys....it is not hard. At least, do what you say in your brochure. How hard is it to give some bubbles, playdoh, slime or bug catching kit to kids? They cost pennies. Unlike most organizations, although one can find out who the members of the JCC Board they provide no contact information. Clearly, they do not want to be contacted. No decent Board of Directors is like that.
