I dropped of my shoes two weeks bf Christmas. TWO WEEKS.Owner said ( as he gave me my repair ticket) completed by Dec 27th! Cool! I called January 10 to say I would pick up by the 24th.... Then SNOWMAGEDON happened! Mind you... I took my repair to this particular shop from a personal friends' review.... So today ( Feb 2,2026) I drove down to pick up my shoes..... The owner looked at me with confusion as I handed him my repair ticket. I described my shoes to a T...5 inch stilettos with a wide crisscross strap. Still confused face. I literally watched this man walk over to a pile of shoes and rummage through pairs and pairs of shoes to eventually find mine on the bottom of the pile.... Dusty and half stripped . So I knew work had started on them bc I did not drop them off in the condition I took them back in. I inquired as to why they were not finished and he said " it's been busy, then snow". I also asked why he did not tell me he had not finished them when I called ( and I gave him the tix number on the 10th of January). He shrugged his shoulders. At this point.... ZERO APOLOGY! ZERO offer to complete the repair at a 25% discount.... I did not ask him for one. He said... and I quote..." you said take your time".... In my mind and most other customers minds.... Take your time means in a reasonable time..... HE gave me the date of completion for Dec 27.... Again.... Shoulder shrugs! How does someone run a business like this? Lack of respect for my shoes ( found on the floor) lack of honoring the delivery date with ZERO APOLOGIES. Then have the audacity to place blame on THE CUSTOMER for not having the repair FINISHED because I stated take your time! SOMEONE MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE TO ME!!!! I called my friend who highly recommended MASTER REPAIR SHOP in Rockville Maryland to me and let him know how my repair project was treated. He was beyond shocked. Many apologies from my friend but not ONE from the OWNER! Please avoid this shit hole ( physically a nasty mess... where my shoes were found on the floor) AT ALL COSTS!!! The owner is CLUELESS on how to provide great customer service. It was HEINOUS AND DEPLORABLE AT BEST! With the damage done to my shoes ( because he started my project) the price to fix them at another shop up the road was 50 dollars MORE... at $150.00! That's double the cost of the shoes when I bought them. When the owner said he would fix them in the next MONTH ( I have a late Winter wedding to attend and wanted to wear the shoes in question) I nearly lost my mind! I stared at him with such disappointment .... He then said... and I quote..." You didn't pay YET, so here" and held out my shoes to take. I took them and as I left I told him what I thought of his shitty customer service in Italian, Spanish and English! I'm sure he understood ONE of the three languages I speak! The customer service is beyond repair itself and I will NEVER EVER allow this shop to work on any of my shoes if I'm in need of repairs. A black leather pair of Gucci loafers to get protective bottoms and leather repaired, heels, sling back kitten heels that the strap broke off, a Tory Burch Handbag for strap repair and leather touch up. Every time I have been here I leave happy and feel that the pricing is fair for the work. I will continue to bring my shoes and leather goods here, I normally don't require the items right away so I can't speak to the timeline given. I usually am late a few days or a week picking up. Quality of the work is outstanding but pricing and timeliness are not. On 2 out of 3 recent orders I went to pick up my shoes on the designated day or after and they weren't ready. It was $90 to fix a pair of $600 boots and now they look brand now. It would not be worth the cost or time for less expensive shoes. read more

This place doesn't deserve any star at ALL. TERRIBLE&WORST shoe cleaning place to ever have service at. The owner or whoever the guy that seems to be the ONLY one working there(he should hire one person to help since he CANNOT keep a PROMISE to a customer to get job done as NOTED on the receipt date), I think his name is Raul completely terrible at providing great or at LEAST good CUSTOMER SERVICE. Dropped off my shoes (a pair of sneakers & UGG Booths) on 8/29 to get cleaned. After paying for it on the spot/beginning which should NEVER be done in the initial (any shoe repair places) as the end service was not as expected, he mentioned Tuesday 9/3 the closest he could get to finishing the shoes after Labor Day weekend and will be ready to pick up. He gave me the receipt and with date ready to pick up 9/3. Then, Tuesday 9/3 I come by after work knowing shoes are ready and cleaned, gave me such a DISAPPOINTING EXCUSE that SHOES ARE NOT READY. He didn't even know where to look for my shoes as I watched him. Again making excuses NOT READY. He says "THE SHOES WILL BE DONE WEDNESDAY 9/4, COME BY "ANYTIME" (when someone says come by anytime and that especially it's RESCHEDULED you'd think the tasks will be completed before the day starts)." Unfortunately, on 9/4 Wednesday after work. He gives me ANOTHER EXCUSE (reminder to store owners NEVER GIVE EXCUSES MULTIPLE TIMES and Especially talking over your customers when they are completely angry, disappointed and driving twice to go out of their way to pick up the items not finished on the spot, AS THIS CAUSES more STRESS to the ISSUE instead of APOLOGIZING & LISTENING). The repeated excuses he made that DID NOT EVEN MAKE SENSE made me so angry. When I explained to him that this is NOT RIGHT for him to make me wait, he just keeps saying "Well it's not done and I'm NOT going to ARGUE with you." As he placed my sneakers on the counter, he did not have the sneakers put together(shoe laces not tied/not on it) unfinished & UGG Booths he just spray painted on the spot as I waited when those were suppose to be completely done and READY FOR PICK UP as mentioned on 9/3, said by him that come by "ANYTIME tomorrow 9/4." Overall, LIES, DISRESPECTFUL & EXCUSES were not even resolved that he DID NOT APOLOGIZE & NO SUCH DISCOUNT or ANYTHING to RELIEVE the issue. NEVER AGAIN at this shoe repair!!! read more

You will be disappointed. ************ However, if you want superior work done right the first time, then be prepared to pay for that service. Master Shoe Repair is not a rip off - but they charge a fair price for the quality work they perform. It's well worth it. Over the last 5+ years, I've brought many pairs (I've lost count) of my favorite casual shoes, heels and boots for repair. Some of the work has been extensive (the shoes had to be completely pulled apart, etc.) and I've had to wait weeks for them to be completed. Thus, it's best to call in advance to see if your shoes are ready. This is a small inconvenience for the quality craftsmanship. There just aren't many small shops like this around any more and I love coming here because I know I'll be remembered by name and receive top notch service every single time. I called Hara to see how much it would cost to put a Rubber tip on the end of my heel that fell off. I was quoted $10-$15 for both shoes. A few weeks later, I called again before taking them in and now he says $20 and up just to put a rubber tip on the end of my heal.. imagine if I asked him to buff out the scratches and fix the worn areas I'd be paying more than the shoe was originally worth. The owner is very nice; doesn't pressure you and tells you your options re what he can do to repair your shoes.

The cobbler is meticulous with his work. It can get pricey though, but worth it for your favorite shoes. He's also honest when something can't really be fixed. He's proud of his work and that's a real plus. He has asked me a few times, "how much do you like these shoes?" as an indication to how much I'm willing to pay for his effort - I think that's a very fair question. Who wants to pay a lot to get a shoe fixed that you don't love? It's probably just worth it to get another pair. A few times I walked away b/c it wasn't my favorite shoe. Recently, however, I did I have two of my favorite pairs of shoes fixed up and reinforced by him and expect it to last awhile! Edit Dec. 2017: I just updated this place with 5 stars. I wish I had before and after pictures. Anyway, the cap of a Sharpie inside my bag came off and absorbed into my bag, leaving a giant black stain on the outside. It was so bad that it wasn't even faint on the outside of the bag. I even had to use lots of napkins to absorb the ink inside. Anyway, it was a disaster and I tried to clean it myself unsuccessfully. I love the bag so I decided to see if the guy could clean it up a bit. Well, now the question is, "WHAT STAIN?" It's a Christmas miracle...well, that and the work of a master for sure. ;-) Give the guy time to do the work and you will be impressed. I wasn't even aware until recently that such a service existed, however, I read about it on the internet so I thought I'd ask. Sure enough, the owner of Master Shoe Repair says he does this all the time. Indeed, when I got there, he had a stack of boots to which he was making alterations. I picked them up today and the job he did was truly incredible. He opened up the back seam, took out the extra leather and sewed them back up. This is not the straight forward type of review that I usually give. I could spend the next 15 minutes on this one if I had the time (which I don't). I could easily break this review down into multiple parts. For example..... I could give one review for customer service I could give another review for the amount of time it takes to actually complete the job vs. the amount of predicted time I could give a review for how the phone calls are handled, depending on who picks up.....and on and on and on..... The truth of the matter is, this is an old fashioned shop that houses an old fashioned Master shoe repairman. He takes pride in his craft and will look you in your eyes and tell you so to your face. Don't waste your time going to this shop if you need a rush job. He won't rush for you. And he won't rush for anyone else. I took in 8 pairs of shoes. Got 6 pair back the next week and the other 2 pair (that needed new heels) back two weeks later. The end result? He did a masterful job as I would expect a master to do. He saved my $300 pair of Prada shoes that had a broken heel. Did such an incredible job that you would never know that he had removed the old heels and put on brand new ones. Likewise he saved my 8 year old Cole Hahn shoes that are absolutely gorgeous and in perfect condition. My dog had gotten ahold of the heels. This master shoe man repaired them to perfection and then shined the shoes. They now look brand new also. Keep an open mind when you walk into this shop. Think old school. Prepare to be patient. He is able to fix sandals, mens, boots, leather bags and etc. He is very good at knowing what he can fix what he can't. The only downside is that he isn't always timely. Mr. Guayta recently repaired three pairs of boots for me, all falling apart. He did a great job with the repairs for a reasonable price. Why not five stars? Unfortunately the repair was not ready when promised. The first time, his wife explained that the power had been out on Saturday so they did not have enough light to get the job done by Monday. Fair enough. They said come back the next day. 24 hours later when I called they said the shoes would be ready by 2:00 PM. I had assumed that "next day" would be the morning. When I was finally able to return a few days after that to pick up the boots, they were ready. I guess the lesson here is to call first before going to pick up your shoes. This delay might have been unusual due to the power outage. I would use their services again. read more

WOW! I must say that I finally found a master in his craft!! I read all these reviews on yelp and decided this is where I am taking my boots for repair. I completely tore down the fur part around ankle on one of them and was considering getting rid of them. They were not cheap at all when I bought them and the main part was still in good condition so I gave it a chance. I was told to come back in 2 weeks, paid up front and left with a good feeling in my gut. This guy looked and sounded just like those cobblers in Europe my grandma used to go for her shoes to be repaired. I didn't even think they would be around anymore. Two weeks later, I am excited to get my boots back and guess what?? My jaw dropped when I saw what this man did!! It was beyond my expectations! This is art! Again-WOW! He found another piece of leather, similar color and quality, glued and sewed those patches on the problem spots so masterfully that there is no way anyone would even suspect that those boots looked different originally!!!! They look even better now than when I bought them!!! Amazing job! He takes pride In what he does, when I asked whether he would make shoes from scratch he said: " I can do pretty much anything, challenge me!"
