So I asked them please stop doing things not acceptable and to call me if there are any issues and I will work with him, but humiliation will no longer be accepted. Not 5 hours later the assistant to the director, has him in a chair basically facing the corner so I call and say we just had a conversation about the discipline, give me time to work with Sam ( 5 years old ) he starts yelling on the phone that I'm a bad dad and that my son is horrible even though my son has went there his entire life. To make it even worse I called corporate again and tried to speak with Kris's boss Laura Graves, and she said that it will be his last day. Blessing in disguise, I'm glad Sammy told me and he will no longer go through that. Only bright spot of that daycare is Carol Jean, the rest of that daycare has high turnover and no drug testing for the staff. Just please pay attention and talk with your children .

He loves to go outdoors in the natural play area. Recently, he showed off his ability to add "really big numbers" and how he's now sounding out words. CMC lives up to everything Montessori should be--hands on, self-guided, and collaborative. The classroom is beautifully laid out so the kids can move around, preparing snack or doing a big "work" on a rug. I would highly recommend CMC for anyone interested in full day child care and who believes in the beauty of a Montessori education.

Please do not take your kids here. They talk about children in front of them and directly to them…read morein ways that are unacceptable. And next to nothing is done to address it. Our 3 yr old initially some trouble w/ the potty, which they seemed to make worse. Eventually he became fully potty trained--everywhere but at Little Tigers, which we thought was strange. After another exasperated teacher informed me my son had 4 accidents in a day (opposed to maybe 1 every 2 weeks outside of this facility), I was frustrated. Then I noticed they left him barefoot. He peed on his shoes (but they did not call or email) so he left crying, wanting shoes. So I emailed the manager, Baishali, w/ 3 weeks' notice, hoping this was adequate. Yet I never received a reply--not to inform me she got it or to inquire about why we were leaving. Bottom line: they don't care. Today, upon leaving the coat room, my husband heard a teacher say (in a bully-like tone) "[My son's name], go on the potty. Everyone ELSE goes on the potty--why don't YOU go on the potty?" And just after this (to another teacher): "I'm so glad this is almost over. No one else is going to deal with this. When he gets to school, they're going to have to put him in SPECIAL classes." At least we learned more about why my son was having accidents at LT; as a former therapist, I know public shaming does little for self-esteem and often leads to behavioral issues. My husband interrupted "that's not the right way to talk to [our son]." The teachers responded that they were talking about another student (as if this was ok). My husband left but returned to talk to Baishali, who was not in. Again, he heard them talking to our son in a harsh tone. So I picked up our children and took them to another center--I was not going to leave them with people who talked to and about them like this. I wish I could say I was surprised but I was aware they did not like my son for several weeks and tried not to see it. In a conference they left us waiting 15 mins for, they informed us our son (who knows all of his shapes and colors, several letters, and can count to 15) hardly knew any shapes, colors or numbers. They attributed his ability to identify a hexagon to him possibly overhearing someone say it first. Thus they discounted his knowledge--something people do when they do not like others. Their chart also showed he could only count to 4 (again, he can count to 15) but they told us he only knew 3 numbers. Studies show when teachers are not invested or do not believe in children, they underperform. This was substantially underperforming for my son, yet they could not acknowledge what little he did in front of them, which was even more telling. We almost pulled him out then. Baishali also allowed a teacher to whine in front of me about changing a pullup they asked that I put him in (which I did not agree w/). So I also realized there was a problem with the culture of this place. Teachers clearly do what they want and talking to Baishali was unlikely to help. When I called in, Baishali stated the teachers corroborated their story of talking about another student in front of my son (which they had plenty of time to get straight) but she admitted they were not honest about how they talked directly to him, apologizing for this. She was not sorry enough to call me to check in and learn more however; I had to call her. She was not sorry enough to ensure my $240 deposit would be returned after I gave ample notice but had to withdraw my kids for unacceptable treatment by the teachers. And she was not sorry enough to ensure those teachers offered my son the apology he still deserves. The way teachers talk about children when they are not around (and especially in front of them) impacts how they treat them. And directly shaming is even more harmful. Chances are they will do this to your child as well. Yet they will not care enough to truly address it; instead, their policy is to inform parents they have talked with teachers while offering a hollow apology devoid of efforts to make it right.

I've worked in child card centers and have completed many early childhood education courses, so I am familiar with the curriculum's, State of Ohio licensing and such. I don't divulge this information initially for obvious reasons. At the time, (Sept. 2014) my girls had just turned 3 and my son was 9. I live nearby and had always seen the beautifully landscaped building. So, I asked a few friends and even inquired about it via Facebook, but got mixed reviews. I, like everyone else on here read all of the terrible reviews and immediately said, "not happening". However, a family member of mine contacted me and informed me that her children would be attending and thus far, she was satisfied (she's also still there by the way). I know that we have very similar parenting views and opinions, so my journey began. As one of the other reviews mentioned, the childcare center is clean (rarely ever do you encounter an unpleasant smell), the classrooms are tidy, they all have plenty of children's artwork and parent information (that I often hear parents complain about, but NEVER check mailboxes/cubbies or even read the board as soon as you enter the center - that BLOWS MY MIND). Registration wasn't a difficult process for me (title 20). I never had any form of miscommunication. I was advised what I was paying and when I needed to pay. I will say that the payment due date frequency threw me off at first, but I inquired about it and Ms. Jodeci printed all of my payments and dates, and clarified it to my understanding. There hasn't been an issue since. I meet the girls teacher (Ms. Carolyn) whom I absolutely adore! She was/is AMAZING! (*Side note: keep in mind that my children came from a childcare center where they were being taught songs on the radio during downtime, and I definitely didn't appreciate that, so that's why I started looking for a new center anyhow.*) I had never received completed daily sheets along with some form of artwork made by my child almost everyday! When my girls came home singing new transition songs, and sharing with me their excitement about sign language, I knew that I had made the right decision! My girls are now about to graduate from preschool and I couldn't be more proud and excited for their new journey! I read one of the reviews stating something along the lines of a child or children not being kindergarten ready. The teachers that I've experienced have been great and instrumental in my children's learning process. In fact, a few months ago, I was attempting to teach them how to tie their shoes, but one of the teachers already did! I was soooo impressed by that, AND she wasn't even their "lead/main" teacher! I immediately found out who she was and (Ms. Yo - I think) personally thanked her. Back to my point, as a parent, YOU are your child's first teacher, so don't complain about them not being college prep material when their ONLY source of educational learning is done at the childcare center. Heading into kindergarten, my children will be bused to and from school because of KA! Here are your carry away notes: - Title 20 registration isn't complicated or doesn't require you to be a rocket scientist to figure out. However, they are a stickler about having forms completed in order to be in compliance, but if the state is subsiding your cost, its the least that we can do right? Sorry, not sure about private pay costs, but I would encourage anyone to get costs/quotes of any kind in writing. - High teacher turnover. This isn't unusual in a childcare center, and to a certain extent I can understand it. - Parking lot jams. Clearly, I'm a fan of KA, but I absolutely hate the parking situation sometimes. The lot directly in front of the center is small and there is an adjacent parking lot, but when I'm just getting off, I want to get in and get out. However, sometimes this can be a challenge. Not a deal breaker, but I would like to see the lot expanded. - I'm not too sure if this happens in all classes, but I LOVE the fact that "circle time" is done twice a day! Once in the morning (some teachers are anal about this and start on time everyday), and once in the afternoon. - You are given PLENTY of notice about upcoming events, fees or anything extra. - Most importantly for me...learning takes place! My children are happy with KA, and because of that, I'm happy. Are there small annoyances and inconveniences at time, sure, but the developmental and social growth that I've witnessed in my children is invaluable for me. My now 12 year old enjoyed KA's Camp Adventure so much last year that he wants to go again this year. Imagine that, a 12 YEAR OLD! In the words of Ms. Carol, visit KA and make the decision for yourself. Don't allow anyone's subjective view to deter you from making a choice for YOU! I'm glad I did :) We won't be going anywhere anytime soon!

This is the second year we've sent my son to one of the summer camps at Math Plus. Last year he did…read morea half-day programming camp, and this year he went for a full-day Lego robotics camp. Both experiences were very positive - he came home full of excitement about what he'd done at camp and inspired to continue working on programming at home. (To be honest, he was already pretty excited about building Legos at home, but the robotics part has given him a new focus.) The teachers are clearly experienced at dealing with kids and are actually full-time teachers during the school year, which was a huge plus for me. I was concerned that the people running the camp might just be college kids on break, but this was clearly not the case.

My first grade son attends class here and he loves everything about it. His teachers are…read moreenthusiastic and the other kids are just as happy to be there. It's okay for him to be excited about math and learning whereas at school he sometimes feels singled out for liking math. The homework is never too challenging and there is plenty of time to complete it before the next week. His class size is only 7 or 8, including him, and he receives plenty of one-on-one attention. As a parent, I appreciate that I don't have to continually sign him up for a new term. Once you sign up for a class, it's an ongoing schedule of classes, that continue through the summer. I'm looking forward to him having interactions with a classroom setting and mathematics classwork during the break. I think having this experience will allow him to stay sharp with his skills. It is pricey, but I believe well worth it. It's a skill that will much more needed throughout his life than knowing how to throw a baseball.
