This is the second year we've sent my son to one of the summer camps at Math Plus. Last year he did…read morea half-day programming camp, and this year he went for a full-day Lego robotics camp. Both experiences were very positive - he came home full of excitement about what he'd done at camp and inspired to continue working on programming at home. (To be honest, he was already pretty excited about building Legos at home, but the robotics part has given him a new focus.) The teachers are clearly experienced at dealing with kids and are actually full-time teachers during the school year, which was a huge plus for me. I was concerned that the people running the camp might just be college kids on break, but this was clearly not the case.

It's okay for him to be excited about math and learning whereas at school he sometimes feels singled out for liking math. The homework is never too challenging and there is plenty of time to complete it before the next week. His class size is only 7 or 8, including him, and he receives plenty of one-on-one attention. As a parent, I appreciate that I don't have to continually sign him up for a new term. Once you sign up for a class, it's an ongoing schedule of classes, that continue through the summer. I'm looking forward to him having interactions with a classroom setting and mathematics classwork during the break. I think having this experience will allow him to stay sharp with his skills. It is pricey, but I believe well worth it. It's a skill that will much more needed throughout his life than knowing how to throw a baseball.

And I'll be honest... this place challenged me right away. Not in a loud, ego-driven way--but in a quiet, disciplined way that forces you to look at yourself. There's no hiding here. No shortcuts. No pretending. The Master teaches with intention. It's not just about movements--it's about awareness, control, and who you are when things get uncomfortable. That part hit me harder than I expected. At first, it can feel intimidating--especially if you're not used to structure or you've got your own stuff going on. But if you stay with it, something shifts. You start to build discipline again. Confidence. Control. This hasn't just been "training" for me. It's been a way to reconnect with parts of myself I thought I lost. And I respect that they don't water it down to make it easier. Because real growth isn't easy. If you're looking for comfort, this might not be your place. If you're looking to actually become stronger--mentally and physically--it's worth stepping into.

We've been sending our son Carson for over a year now and everything is as good as day one if not better. They work with him one on one and you can tell they are very passionate about martial arts and the experience each child gets. The summer camp is great also, they mix fun and activity with an hour or so of martial arts a day. The place is clean, spacious and the staff members are top notch.
