Really disappointed in the massage. Booked a 50-min deep tissue with Sandra and it was not a good experience. I asked to focus on my neck and shoulders and had to ask multiple times to increase the pressure. It just didn't seem like she knew what she was doing, as she kept trying to massage my bones, arms, ribs and even the skull behind my ears?? I finally had to say something when she was physically poking my kidneys, causing extreme discomfort. I ended up cutting the message 5 min short due to my frustration. Management offered a full refund and we cancelled my fiancés massage that was supposed to follow mine. The overall professionalism was lacking between the staff and the facility. The spa is ok. The high rating is for Christine. She really knows how to target the muscles that bother you the most. The pressure was perfect! The front desk staff and the lady who tours the facility are absolutely kind and perfect. I would go back just for the services. read more

Summary: I had a facial here and they ripped out my nose piercing. They are refusing to give it back. If I could leave a negative review, I would at this point. I received a facial here 2 weeks ago and very obviously have my nose pierced. I had a basic 25 minute facial. During the service, the staff member ripped my L hook nose piercing out of my nose accidentally. I felt a pull and assumed it had snagged but that it had not been removed. After I was getting dressed, I realized my piercing was snagged during my service. I notified the front desk person while checking out and was told the staff member had already started their next service. He said he would notify the technician once she was done and let me know once they found it. I informed him I would be leaving Lake Charles immediately and he said we would work together to get it back to me. I received a call a few hours later and was told it had been located. I requested they mail it (it is light enough it could literally be placed loose in a basic envelope) and he told me he would call me back once he spoke with his supervisor. I did not hear back for several days. My husband has now called the spa and spoken to several staff members. We have both been told we would het a call back from a supervisor which still has not happened. My husband called and made a plan with them today for my father in law to pick up this piercing from the front desk of the hotel in the evening. My father in law went by the front desk and was informed they did not have it. My husband and I have both spoken to several staff members and we have called a ridiculous number of times at this point. We cannot get straight answers. We are not being given back a nose ring that was ripped out of my face by their staff member unnecessarily. I am tired and fed up. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. I cannot stress how bad it has been. Highly highly recommend visiting a spa at one of the many other hotels in Lake Charles because the golden nugget spa is ridiculous. read more

More like the "aluminum nugget". I live in Los Angeles and I'm fairly accustom to paying north of 500 bucks a night for a hotel room but at least in LA you get service. This place sucks. I called for a root beer this morning and there was an hour and a half wait. The valet wouldn't take my car when I checked in on Friday night because I accidentally pulled into the wrong line (when there were literally 10 Vallette's standing around doing nothing). The room never got cleaned and when I called, I was told that you have to "request for it to be cleaned". This place is awful for the money. Don't waste your money or time! read more

I went to this spa to celebrate my sister's wedding. What supposed be a wonderful relaxing weekend was the complete opposite. Starting off we arrived 2 minutes late because the horrible way to enter this spa. When being escorted to the back I was told by an employee to get undressed as FAST as possible. When I wasn't done changing after 4 minutes I was told then again to please HURRY up. The woman, I guess she was a spa attendant, can't confirm because she never offered any amenities, continued to be in the same demeanor the entire experience. To top this all off the bride's services were not scheduled as well as her future sister in law and our other sister's services. We got told to please keep down, not with a friendly request but as if we were children. I have worked in spa and understand that is never the way this experience meant to happen. At the end when was paying in CASH I was told there was no way I could get change, because there was none?? (at a casino????) My friend also wanted to exchange her pedicure for a manicure. They didn't tell her this would be an added expense until it was time to pay. An extra $45 was added to her ticket. The services were pretty good. But I will NEVER come back here and I suggest you choose somewhere else for your services. Horrible experience, wish I could put 0 stars. read more

Best massage in earth. Book with Corey. He is professional, experienced, and I lose 5lbs if water everytime I book a deep tissue with focus on lymphatic system. The spa experience also includes sauna, whirlpool, hair, nails, and great products for hair, face, etc. Never come to visit Lake Charles without booking a massage with Corey!! read more

The manager and everyone there was friendly and professional. Allison is a great masseuse. My mother in law, sister and I all enjoyed our deep tissue massage. There was a whirlpool, but we didn't use it. We didn't feel rushed after our massage and we had time to enjoy the rest of the facility like the steam room, and sauna. read more

Front desk guy today is the worst ever. I booked appointment for 80 mins session and showed up before appointment time. I even called a day prior to double confirm. When I showed, they told me I was an hour late. I have been coming here for almost 5 years, things like this never happened. When ladies took the appointments, they are always correct. read more

I just got out of the worst most un-relaxing massage by Corey Guillory followed by the worst customer service experience (by the spa director of all people) Carrie Harmon. I booked a relaxation massage for this morning because I wanted to... relax! Instead I had elbows on my shins and fists in my neck. When I mentioned the pressure was too much (more than once) I was literally laughed at twice and also told I have a lot of tension. I asked Corey what is the difference between a deep tissue, swedish and relaxation massage and he said, "nothing, they all the same". I realized I found the disconnect -- Corey doesn't know what he is doing. Carrie "the new spa director" checked me out so I asked her the same question and SHE GAVE THE SAME ANSWER. I asked, why are they all different prices and have different descriptions online to which she replied, "I don't know, I'm the new spa director". I'm glad there was other staff standing around to hear this crap. Someone needs to learn exactly what they're selling and then teach the therapists so they know what they're doing!! read more

Very expensive spa- way over- priced for the actual service quality. The spa itself is gorgeous, very new. But the actual service itself is not up to par with other spas of similar quality. Facial was $160 which is very pricey so you would expect amazing service. Massage was $180 for 80 minutes which should have meant a great experience. Everything was good but not great. Folks were all nice - just not enough for the prices. read more
