Unfortunately, I did everything wrong that day prior to arriving to my appointment. I can only hope I didn't scare the hell out of Mike and Chandler and the rest of the crew there. I got up early and took my pre-workout and had a long exercise session prior, something I do daily without thinking, and that is a No No. My body couldnt handle that kind of pain while in complete recovery mode. My husband had a great experience, walked in for a tattoo that most places we walked in said we needed an appointment for because it sounded like a lot of work and to come back when the owners were there, so right off the bat Chandler was willing to help and took our ideas and turned it into something better than my husband expected. He was also was able to tie the tattoo into his several years old tattoo and which is exactly what we were hoping for so he went above and beyond to turn what he wanted into a work of art! It was a spur of the moment plan after the birth of our son this week to get his name tattooed and some bear paws to symbolize our children and once I'm able to will go back also to get tattooed by him! The shop is nice and open, clean, and not super loud, which was a plus too. Within 3 hours I had my original requested tattoo complete and even got two more that I had been thinking about getting. So many issues. Owner doesn't know what he's doing. Phone number rings through, artists do not listen (ex. I said I wanted my tattoo about the size of a nickel and he drew it the first time about the size of my palm), no one was wearing a mask, and end result did NOT look like the picture I showed him. It was an abstract napkin doodle of what I wanted. I got a full refund after most of my friends reaction to, what was suppose to be a strawberry, was met with, "Did you get a clit on your ankle?" After this I wanted to donate plasma and you need the license of the tattoo artist. The owner, who did my tattoo, refuses to send it to me. At this point I have called or texted him everyday. this is about the piercing part of the parlor. First things first.... she was touching her hair with her gloved hands. I should have walked out then. Second when she marked my piercing on my tongue, I said it was fine. she then said I don't like it, changed the position and pierced me. Crooked! First thing I ask my friend when I sat down was is this crooked? I tip her, go about my day. We got to dinner. I ask the waitress, who also has her tongue pierced, is this crooked. The face she made broke my heart. As im talking, the ball comes off and the jewelry slides out. I can't put it back in as I had only gotten it pierced two hours prior. I asked for a refund and she said no but she will re pierce it. NO. You messed up once im not going to let it happen again. I told her I was uncomfortable and she left me on read. Then when she pierced my sister in laws ear, she lost the the hole in her ear and had to pierce it again. All I can say is do your research, and follow your gut. I should have left the moment I saw her touching her hair with her gloved hand and then proceed to pierce someone. read more

After thinking I stumbled upon a great tattoo artist - one who was interested in finishing my sleeve - (Corey, the owner of the shop) I was severely let down. I'm an invested, serious client. The first appointment a slam dunk...provided images of what I wanted and waited for the drawing to be done. Set up an appointment at his request to complete the placement - he was a no show "due to a family emergency" - Instagram told me different and his show car took priority over his client. Okay, maybe not a big deal BUT on the day of my session I text him 20 minutes prior to my arrival and he "forgot" to text me that he couldn't make it. His plane back from the Pittsburg game was delayed and he was too tired. I had taken a vacation day to do something I've been excited about only to be let down again. Two strikes and you're out. I'm certain the other artists working at Golden Rose Tattoo take their work more seriously but the owner needs to step up his game. It's disappointing to say the least. read more
