It took over an hour after placing our order to get our food, that ended up not being all that good. We couldn't even get an apology from our server. We observed people who ordered after us getting their food and even leaving before we got our food. Very unfortunate. read more

Went in with my fiancée and her grandmother, overall just don't recommend coming here. The food is not great, service was quick but it felt rushed, and it clearly was because I asked for gator tots, but ended up having fries instead (didn't really care about the fries) but before I was given my plate the server (with no gloves) was touching my food trying to remove a long hair...what!? I look over at my fiancée and her grandmothers plate, her grandmother had a cluster of onions stuck together some were fried some weren't, my fiancée ordered mozzarella sticks but there was no cheese in them. Just fried shells. Would now recommend eating here. read more

Food was delicious, both times We have been here, but the service was terrible both times. Got our food quick, then the waitress never came back. Another waitress took our empty plates, then we waited 15 minutes for our waitress to see we were ready to go. read more

All of the food we ordered was pretty good. Chicken was cooked perfectly, the scalloped potatoes and ham special was very good, Philly cheesesteak was grisly but flavor was good, tots were crispy, artichoke dip was nice and cheesy. The bread chips that came with the spinach artichoke dip was unexpected and very delicious; they tasted like they were made from sopapilla batter and served warm. This was our first experience going to a restaurant since Covid so wasn't sure what to expect. Was hoping the wait staff would at least have masks on, but didn't notice anyone with them except for a few customers as they entered the restaurant. Overall the food was 4 stars, Covid safety just not there. read more

Review 2.0 After my daughter had lunch before a wedding we were attending (see previous review) we got on the bus post wedding to do a bit of bar hopping... First bar we head to..., The Grain Exchange in scenic Slayton. I must say, even though the visit was much quicker and only involved drinks, the experience was much, much better. 2nd visit was at 4:30 pm on the same Saturday. New bartender was mixing drinks, young guy and good service. We walked in unannounced with 25 people. Entire wedding party with spouses all sporting a huge thirst. The bartender was slinging drinks and the cook came out from the kitchen to help us dispatch our craving for booze. We hit them hard (frequently as it was a 60+ minute Catholic wedding) and they stood up to the challenge. Next time I'm in Slayton I'll stop in again and see how they do, best of 3. read more

Slow service, mediocre food... I have ordered to go many times & have been disappointed with it more often than not. Very hit or miss me

I was here last fall and am just getting around to reviewing. I was there during the week in the early lunchtime time-frame. The wait staff was very attentive and I was able to get a Surly product to consume while I waited for my food, which I did not expect! The food was very good and the whole experience was excellent. I would not recomend this resturant to anyone. When we arrived it was during the dinner rush. There is no hostess to seat you, you seat youreslf. Not sure how a waitress is supposed to know you are there whenthe place is busy. We sat down and had to flag down a waitress after almost 20 minutes. We were told that the waitress for our table was new so she probably missed us. We had already taken menues from another table so we knew what we wanted. She took our drink and food order. It took her almost 15 minutes to get us our drinks. I do understand that they were busy but it shouldn't take that long to get two waters and a beer. We then waited over half and hour for our food. We flagged down our waitress after 20 minutes and asked if it would be coming soon. She told us she would check. She came back and said it should only be a couple more minutes. It was almost another 20. When we finally got our food we asked why it took over an hour to get our food. The waitress told us that they were slammed with orders but that they had a full kitchen crew that night and that they normally don't. I'm sorry if you actually have a full kitchen crew it should run smoohter than when you don't. To top it all off when I took my first bite of food it was cold. Not a little cold, kind of warm. Completly cold not evenm a littel warm in the middle. My meal was unedible. When we got our bill our waitress said she was sorry and gave us her employee discount which amounted to about 5% off. It was a nice gesture but too little too late. We have family in the area so are there often but we will never go back to or suggest someone else go to the Grain Exchange. read more
