Granada booster policy. Feb 4th. Denied us entrance to the Wynton Marsalis concert!
    Alexandra E.

Granada decided to change their booster policy hours before the Wynton Marsalis concert, with no notice, no update to their website, no update emails to their ticket holders, or to their COVID policy on their website. They denied us entrance, lied and said they'd emailed us (nope. Or any other ticket holder we talked to!) and acted like we were the creeps, not them. We're scheduled for boosters tomorrow and would happily have gotten before today IF THEY HAD SAID SO. Not this arbitrary BS. I will NEVER donate or attend an event here again. This is not how you treat your long standing supportive locals. Oh and 'Mr.' Johnson - you are a lying ass.

I was so excited to see that there were shows going on through covid! I appreciate that the website is extremely clear about needing to be vaccinated or have a recent covid negative test to go to the show. I feel like this helps alleviate any confusion or for folks to buy tickets and then be dramatic at the venue. It was a simple process: show Vax card or negative test, get in line for will call tickets, have a mask on the entire show and that's it. The restrooms are easy to find, are well lit and there are speakers inside the restrooms so you can hear the show if you end up needing to relieve yourself during the performance. Everybody was helpful and friendly. I look forward to more shows in the near future there.

A majestic and beautiful theater! The Granada has been around for over 100 years. Its restore around 15 years ago really turned it into a masterpiece. To my knowledge, it was renovated to resemble its original form. I can tell that no expenses were spared. This theater is huge and very ornate. You will find the most beautiful of details throughout. The venue itself offers a mezzanine and loge seating areas. You will see that each seat has a name engraved. These names are of all the donors whom had contributed to the theater's remodel. Pretty neat. I feel that this theater attracts a good variety of quality artists. I was here the other night to watch Hairspray, the musical, and it was spectacular. From the lighting to the transitions, it was a flawless performance. The orchestra pit is hidden but the acoustics were amazing. I'm grateful to live within walking distance and hope to come back here again soon.

The Theater: Gorgeous lighting outside the theater!! It is located in downtown Santa Barbara on State Street. What a historic site!! Very well maintained theater. Lots of staffs on duty. It is not a huge theater, every seat is a good seat. 2 floors theater with a few balcony box seats. There is a small bar on the first floor. The Parking: Parking structure behind the theater. $5 flat rate.

Just saw a great acoustic guitar show here performed by "Trey Anastatio" - such awesome acoustics and vibes at this theater

Sooooo upset!!!! I bought $200 tickets to the Alvin Ailey dance company. I live 4 hrs away from Santa Barbara. I made an entire vacation out of coming to see this performance. The website says that if you're not fully vaccinated, having a professional covid test within 48 hours is acceptable. Which is exactly what I did!! Negative covid test. They turned me away at the door. Fuck you, Shane, dismissive POS.

we came here to see david blaine(!!!!) and he was amazing!!! so magical! even better than we could have imagined! my only complaint is that we didn't closer better seats on the first floor :( he is so interactive with the audience so we felt slightly left out 0_o the following night, we came back to see ali wong and she was hilarious! we had better seats which made us wish we had them for david blaine!!! anyways, beautiful theater. nice and comfy seats. cheap parking in the back. and conveniently located downtown next to a bunch of restaurants and bars.

    Awaiting the Shen Yun performance.

The stage curtains can no longer be fully retracted for a widescreen movie. Super Mario Galaxy, of all things, had about 3 feet on each side projected onto the curtains. Abandoning the beautiful entryway and its kiosk is unforgiveable. Instead you are to buy your tickets in the box office, which bears no resemblance to the rest of the building. It looks like a pop-up version of the office at your middle school. It's beautiful inside, and the unpleasant smell is faint enough you'll forget it once your popcorn and red licorice ick int. But be sure you sit in the front 10 to 20 rows if you want to actually feel you are watching a projected film on a big screen. My negativity is here to apply what small share of pressure I can contribute to what should be one of Santa Barbara's iconic landmarks. The theater is worth visiting anyway. On a certain level it is wonderful. But boy does it need a lot of work.

The theater seats feel a bit small, like hard wooden airplane seats, but this is kind of expected being that it is an old theater. The Luke hosts many local groups, which I love, but also brings national and international groups to Santa Barbara. There is always something new and interesting happening at The Luke. The Luke was recently renovated, but still has a vintage feel. It's a gorgeous theater and very comfortable. By request, you can tour the theater and see the ins and outs of The Luke. I was able to go on a tour hosted by the house manager himself and had no idea of the fascinating history of The Luke. I would highly recommend this tour.
