I went here for the first time to see a screening of the film The Apprentice with a Q&A following with actor Jeremy Strong. Wow that drive and location and view? I've been going to SB for years and never been up in the hills what have I been MISSING. The theater was great! Beautiful historic outside and the theater is intimate but comfortable. I was one of the last people let in because SBIFF members were allowed in first and I still managed to get a great seat! Audience was super respectful throughout the film. The Q&A was awesome and the gentleman, Roger, who moderated was FANTASTIC. I see so many Q&As in Los Angeles and Roger asked some of the best questions I've experienced. Bring him to LA!! Seeing Jeremy Strong speak about his acting craft in person was such a dream!!

I really enjoyed the French Wave festival. I was able to see three films. I really love the ambience of this theatre. The courtyard next to this place is incredible as it was supposed to be Santa Barbara State college before UCSB was built. The view of Santa Barbara is also great up here.

Unfortunately, as the lights dimmed and the excitement was about to begin...the theater suddenly went dark and the emergency lights kicked on. The staff immediately reassured us that we were safe and that there was a power interruption and that things would be running shortly. Sadly, minutes ticked by and the staff came back to let us know the outage was affecting a large part of the area and offered vouchers. I was in a pickle. I purchased my tickets through Fandango, we were leaving town the next day and their site refuses refunds or credits after the movie start time...no exceptions (I should review them...boooo). We hung back for a few minutes while the staff dealt with safely walking all the customers out and I spoke with Elias who is the GM. He was extremely polite and apologetic. He too understood that working with Fandango was problematic and he offered to take my information and see if he, or the corporate office of the theater, could help. I left my information with hope, but no great expectations. Well today I got my socks blown off! I received an email from Elias and he is working with Fandango. He just needs my confirmation information from them to try and facilitate a refund. At this point, the ball is in Fandango's court! I am so impressed with Elias and the staff of Metro 4 Theatre in Santa Barbara. In this age of digital processing and service by text it was so refreshing to deal with a professional who cared about the company, the job and the customer. Speaking to someone who was willing to go the extra mile was such a wonderful experience. I am so thankful to Elias and his team and would recommend this little theater to anyone in the area. I am happy to give 5 starts on service alone!!!!!!!!!!

Full concessions and bar was open. We ate dinner around the corner at the Santa Barbara public house then walked over for the game. Such a unique experience to watch the game in a historical theater setting with other football fans

The stage curtains can no longer be fully retracted for a widescreen movie. Super Mario Galaxy, of all things, had about 3 feet on each side projected onto the curtains. Abandoning the beautiful entryway and its kiosk is unforgiveable. Instead you are to buy your tickets in the box office, which bears no resemblance to the rest of the building. It looks like a pop-up version of the office at your middle school. It's beautiful inside, and the unpleasant smell is faint enough you'll forget it once your popcorn and red licorice ick int. But be sure you sit in the front 10 to 20 rows if you want to actually feel you are watching a projected film on a big screen. My negativity is here to apply what small share of pressure I can contribute to what should be one of Santa Barbara's iconic landmarks. The theater is worth visiting anyway. On a certain level it is wonderful. But boy does it need a lot of work.

Took the kids here today and it was 100% worth the 1.5 hour drive from LA. MOXI is super hands-on…read moreand perfect for kids to just explore and play without getting bored. Every exhibit actually keeps them engaged not just looking, but doing. The interactive tables (like the spinning drum and dice games) were a hit. My kids didn't want to leave and kept going back to the same stations. It's also really clean, organized, and easy to navigate even with little ones. Pricing was reasonable for what you get abbout $25 for adults, $20 for kids, and under 2 is free, which is nice. Staff was friendly and everything felt well-maintained. You can tell they designed this place with kids in mind but adults still have fun too. Definitely a solid family day trip spot from LA. Would come back again

The lactation pod was super loud and not a great place to pump, luckily had the sensory cave. Their infant and toddler room is for walkers only because they don't close it off and make people take their shoes off so definitely not okay for babies like they claim who need a clean environment. Also very little toys. Better if you can already climb and walk. Expensive! They have a 90 mile rule for using reciprocal kids museums and Pasadena's Kidspace is 89 miles away. $25 an adult is not worth it for the parents of a non crawler.

There is an orchestra level as well as a balcony level and when you walk into the theater space it is beautiful. The stage is large. The theater holds a lot of people. The ticket takers and ushers were extremely friendly and more than happy to help in anyway you can. Just off the lobby there are men's and women's restrooms that have about two stalls in each. There are more restrooms and larger restrooms upstairs. The seats are very soft and cushiony and comfortable to sit in for longer periods of time. There was not a ton of legroom so if you are a taller person, I suggest getting an aisle seat. We went to the event, called an evening with the dude screaming the movie the big Lebowski where we watched the movie, then Jeff Bridges came out, shared stories photographs, and answered questions about the movie. It started I believe at six and went went on for several hours to a sold out crowd. With that being said, the theater never felt too congested to where you could not move and get around. They also offer a small concession stand, and you can bring food and drink to your seat. However, there is no outside food and drink permitted. Definitely love this little theater and I will for sure check out more events there in the future.
