It started to rain but that didn't stop me. As long as I stayed along the trail close to the Hillsborough River, I didn't get too wet. The trail had a lot of shaded trees. There are two playgrounds, quite a few picnic shelters, and a boat ramp. There's plenty of parking and they keep the park relatively clean. It even is a stop for the water taxi. It has been here forever and I remember riding it as a child and I still enjoy a ride on it every now and then. I think this is a must ride especially for first time Disney visitors. The line is usually not super long. The ride itself is about 3-4 minutes, and honestly after that time, I am ready to get off. It is a merry go round with big giant horses that have been hand painted. My husband is not a huge fan so I usually wait to go when my sister is visiting, however, he will ride if I really have to go. This is not a must ride every single time we are Magic Kingdom, but again, it's pretty classic. My issue is with the line, first it is completely outside, no cover, no shade, if its raining or incredibly hot, you are in the same line, suffering. Once you enter the turnstile, they group you. This is my issue, we could be first into the group section but when they open the gate finally, people who were behind us can get it before us to pick the perfect horse. We all know, we all want that one horse, we want the prettiest, the biggest, the one on the outside and I absolutely hate having to battle families for that horse. I don't have kids so I always feel awkward and usually let children and families go in front of us. So I never end up with that perfect horse. But the ride itself is super cute, it has cute music and actually goes around pretty fast for a carousel. The scenery as it goes is also beautiful. Passing Cinderella's castle spin after spin is just so magical, it makes you feel like a kid again. This is definitely a must ride attraction, but if the line is super long, like wrapped around the carousel, skip it and come back. Do not wait more than 10 minutes for this. It will go down in wait. But please take a spin on it, even if you are an adult. It is that cute and that classic.

The new Christmas tree is probably one of the biggest I've seen this season. It is about 60 feet tall. It's quite grand and lovely. I do think though with the lighting at night, it was extremely hard to take a good pic of us but the tree itself was picturesque even so. The Xmas lights in the park were as beautiful as can be and they definitely did a great job. As for the activities, this is very geared towards family. They have a Choo Choo train, a gingerbread house, carousel, ice skating, games, & a scavenger hunt by finding reindeer in the participating shops. They also scheduled entertainment. The winter land tickets are $10 and ice skating $20. Check it out before it ends on the 3rd. Let's keep Christmas going as long as we can!!!

This park has so many different options for the kids to play whether it's slides, climbing rocks, playing with water or musical instruments and more. There's so much to do. Some areas are great for little kids and some areas are good for bigger kids. - they are cool, tunnels, and artificial turf everywhere which is great for kids to stay clean and not have to deal with Florida ants. - the playground equipment is high-quality and there's a large variety for kids to exercise different body movements. This is the kind of park you can take your kids to every day. CHALLENGES: - parking is small. Not a lot of spots. Only 1 handicap spot - this park was packed, but the park is big enough for that to happen.
