I tried to rent their market building as well. We spoke to people at the location and they told us the building was available to rent. They were supposed to get back to us the next day by 2:00 pm. No one ever called us back. We finally received a call back while we were driving to Missouri from Illinois two weeks later. Thankfully I found a hall I could rent to throw the party. Next the houses. I rented the log cabin and my family rented the farmhouse. Both houses were filthy dirty. I had to clean the oven, the oven hood, the refrigerator, the showers. The beds had someone else's hair in them. I found a used coffee pod in the Keurig and gross water in the water container. There was blood on a pillow in the upstairs bedroom. The backyard was disgusting. We had to scrub the grill because it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The outdoor cushions had bird poop all over them and hadn't been cleaned ever. I was going to take the covers off the cushions and wash them myself but I was afraid they would fall apart from dry rot. Now the other house. First my family couldn't get into the house with the passcode that was given, so my stepmother had to climb through a window to get in the house. There was blood in one of the beds that my nephew was going to sleep in. The shower in the primary bathroom was leaking water constantly and they wouldn't fix it. The shower in the other bathroom didn't work. There were bugs everywhere in the farm house. Now both houses had problems with the TV's and the internet. I have rented numerous Airbnb's and have never gotten a bad review from anyone, now this place wants to say I was a bad fit for their property. I cleaned their freaking house and left it cleaner than what it was when I arrived. I was nice in the review I gave them because I never want to give a business a bad review, because I don't want to be the cause of them losing business. But after what I read what they wrote about my family the gloves are off. I was warned by several other businesses in the area that The Rusted Route has terrible communication with their guests and that they had zero housekeeping skills but I didn't let that overshadow our stay there. I thought I would be nice and give them a good review but now F that. They get ZERO stars from me and I hope anyone thinking of renting this place for vacation or wedding or whatever think twice about this place. I can't give ZERO stars but that is what they deserve. They don't even deserve this one star that I have to give in order to post my review. P.S. I was also told by other people who are very familiar with The Rusted Route that they have terrible food. It was equal to the many of the high end weddings that I have been to in Napa, Sonoma and Santa Barbara. The details of the property and artistry of the buildings (especially the barn) were on point and like they were out of a magazine. We enjoyed the hotel's proximity to the river and main area of downtown. Plus, having a casino attached to hotel was a bonus. We arrived about 45 minutes prior to check in, but the hotel receptionist did not hesitate to allow us to check in early. Unbeknownst to us, our hotel room was upgraded to a Roulette King room. Our room was located in the 5th floor at the very end of the hall. So there was no constant foot traffic around our room which was nice. The room itself was spacious. I don't think I ever stayed in hotel room that had a six person dining room table in it! We had a nice view of the river as well. The room also came with two TVs. My wife and I did a quick walk through the casino just to check it out. There were a lot of gaming options but there was no free booze while gaming. My wife was excited about having a Starbucks adjacent to our hotel lobby. This is a phenomenal hotel and would definitely consider staying here in the future!

The (older) lady at the front desk was the least friendly person ever, let me put it this way, the TSA agents at St Louis airport were way friendlier than her. These gardens are in the backyard of a guys house. It's easy to miss the drive off the road and we ended up turning around and coming back. When we arrived a man came out to greet us and offered to make change if we didn't have exact change. While the gardens are nice, many free parks are much larger and have more to offer. There is a fee of $2 per person and it is relatively small. We walked the entire loop and it was 0.3 miles. There are some interesting rock arches and the flowers are pretty, but the pond was murky. I guess if you didn't have anything to do, you could visit this place, but I would not recommend making a special trip.
