Our favorite wines on the trail!! I know this is a little further from the other wineries, but absolutely worth the stop. We did a tasting with every wine and sangria (loved that was an option) - all soo good. It was hard to narrow down what to buy. Really enjoyed the sangria to go option as well. The outdoor space is beautiful, wish we were there during the music performance. Great staff made it a 5 star experience!

My favorite wine and my favorite kid.

We have visited here many times. This is the first time since Covid. They did not disappoint. We missed the entertainment because of prior obligations but the scenery and music they play is enough entertainment for anyone. We came late so we brought our own munchies and enjoyed a bottle of wine. I discovered that sushi and Eclipse wine pairs beautifully. We savored the pickled ginger and wine together. Amazing! The owner is friendly and walks around making sure everyone is taken care of. They have misters and sun shades to keep everyone cool and comfortable. This venue is perfect for small gatherings and larger parties. Decor is tasteful with a hunting motif. The Eclipse wine is my personal favorite but all are good. Perfect for a date or family. A must see if in the area.

We stumbled upon this gem while trying to find a different winery. We loved it here. The owner was wonderful and so was the Scenery. We will head back before we leave to sit and have a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful outdoor space.

We had also been to a few events at the property before touring it. 9 days before our event(wedding), the owners tried to cancel. 5 days before our event, the owner asked if a man we did not know could share space in the mansion with our wedding crew. The day we check in at the property the barn was not ready. It was dirty and we had to clean it. We also had to place all the tables and chairs that the owners said they would set up per the contract. Every single chair was covered in filth. The owners did not properly clear the snow either. The day of our event the owner kept inserting themselves into our guests and networking. They were also seen taking photos during the ceremony. The guests were facing the owner when they took the photos. The electric service in the barn is not capable of running 3 roasters. We asked about this before planning to use them for the meal; we were told it'll work just fine. It did not. After the lights went out(during reception) my husband, an electrician, looked the service over and said there was no way the roasters could stay on. Due to the owners not clearing the snow properly we had 5 guests get stuck while trying to leave. Going back to when we checked in; Rhonda told us to call her if we needed anything. We dialed her several times and she never answered. I had to go physically find her. There was also a trailer parked right where everyone would walk past to get to the barn. It was loaded up with dead appliances, a used mattress and cardboard boxes. An absolute eyesore. There were also two vehicles parked out there to die as well. Two dead lawn mowers in the tree line too. None of these issues were present when we booked. Everything was pristine and stunning. Inside the mansion the bathrooms were not clean. Toilets had murky water and mold growing in the bowls. There were also dead insects everywhere. As long as Rhonda and Bryan are in charge of the property, I do not recommend Historic Bell Hill. It is such a shame for such a grand property to be ill managed.

The mansion its self is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. There is plenty of room throughout the house that both the both sides of the bridal party were able to get ready without even being on the same floor or side of the house. My wofe stayed the night before int he bridal suite which is huge. If the complete bridal party wanted to stay the night before the wedding they could with ease. We had a very big bridal party containing 20 people and had plenty of room. The outside of the mansion is beautifully landscaped with a gorgeous lake out front with a couple of fountains inside. There's a inground pool, hottub and outdoor bar/grill area also. Pine Manor went above and beyond to make our wedding day special and absolutely gorgeous!!

I really got the best bang for my buck and is a true all inclusive experience that I will never forget. The owners here are also very friendly and their mission about starting this place years ago shows their dedication to the hospitality market. This place is clean and it feels like I'm staying at a four-star hotel. They do have a lot of terms and conditions when it comes to booking so be aware before booking please don't make any changes. The lobby itself is beautiful , the rooms itself are incredible. They have a beautiful balcony if you stay in the main part of the hotel. The outdoor area is also really good and has great views. you even have a bonfire. The guests here are really down to earth and friendly. This place hosts weddings and other Gatherings as well. Since there wasn't a lot of guests here, I really wish there was an opportunity to actually have the bar open during our visit. The Innkeeper also does a great job taking care of the hotel. Even though it's a bit far even though it's a bit far from a grocery store I recommend buying your stuff in advance. If you're making your way to the winery Trail or to the hiking trails you're in the absolute heart of it all and that's why this whole house and the prime location that it is! Rhea and Tony (the owners) didn't miss a thing! On their 125+ acre of property there are 2 rooms that rent (not attached to the house) for anywhere between $65-85 a night (I believe) and there is a log cabin suite for $130.00 per night which is what we choose. What an amazing place, so romantic, it is so beautiful! They have a private entrance to the log cabin that you walk through grape vines with beautiful flowers and hummingbirds all around. Our cabin had its own private Jacuzzi, fireplace, grill, king bed and wrap around deck. The also have a hot tub outside for all to use. She had the whole room stocked with everything you possibly needed during your stay important to remember the chocolates too! We were joined to the house by a breeze way but you never heard a sound except for the occasional bark from Daisy the new puppy! Rhea made us "Continental" breakfast every morning and it was out-of-this-world! The first day she made us strawberries and pancakes. The second day was an amazing egg souffle with peaches and blueberries and the final morning we had cherries and waffles. I was hoping she would slip me some of the recipes! Their property has many walking trails and one lead to a cave that Daniel Boone etched his name in the wall. Now, did I climb up to see, heck no! The other paths lead to 3 ponds stocked with fish and one had a row boat you guys could get out on and fish, made my husband's day! I highly recommend, if anyone is heading to Southern Illinois for outdoor fun or to hit the wine trail, consider this B&B, its the best I have ever stayed in and plan to go back!

Sue's breakfasts were also top notch. Lastly, the grounds and proximity to river views were exceptional. I rated this 5 stars not because it is perfect (the décor was dated and the toilets and showers were small) but because it fully met my expectations given the price (only $130/night for the large Captain's room and high-quality breakfast for 2) and the age of the building (the house is over 100 years-old). I'd happily pay 20% more if they opted to refresh the décor (e.g., wallpaper, improved baths). We will return either way
