My 2008 Toyota Yaris transmission would randomly shift down or out of gear altogether, at between 35mph and highway speeds. Sometimes it would do this and sometimes it would behave properly. It was intermittent. So I didn't know if my tranny was toast and needed a $5000 replacement or could be fixed for reasonable cost. Oh yes, the Electric Power Steering in my Yaris would go in and out as well, separate issue. I brought it to Derek at Transmission Depot, and told him it was not a daily driver, so he could take as long as needed to diagnose and fix the found issues. Derek had team members drive it for errands to get it to misbehave, to assist in the diagnosis. Eventually they decided to replace the speed sensor and crankshaft position sensor. While they were doing that work, they found a couple ground wires to the transmission that needed cleaning up. They drove and tested it some more after those repairs. After another week or so, they decided it was ready for me to pick up. It was fixed!! Worked great and continues to work perfectly! For under $1000, Derek and the Transmission Depot team not only fixed my transmission random shift/slippage issue, but the intermittent electric power steering issue went away as well!
