What a fun idea?!?!? Loved playing the board games in and out of the store. The location of the family friendly establishment is tucked away. The owner is super nice and very helpful. The store is well organized and crazy clean. On some weekends, the owner makes the most amazing pancakes. There are other mouthwatering items from a local bakery and of course Lucky Goat coffee. I highly recommend this business for anyone that loves board games or interesting in try new ones. You can rent the game and take it home or play it in the store. Come here for your board game needs! This is my favorite local small business in Tallahassee! The Great Games Library offers hundreds of board games with expansions to choose from, with a color-coded tier system of games to play in-store or rent to take home. All of the games are so well-taken care of and you never have to worry about missing pieces. Whether you're a noobie or a seasoned board game pro, there are a variety of complexity levels in games and you don't even need to worry about not knowing which game to choose. The owner James is kind enough to chat and recommend games, even going so far as to sit you down and walk you through the rules and how to get started. Also, if you need a snack while playing, there is a variety of coffee (Lucky Goat!), tea, and juice, as well as snacks like baklava, pastries, and cookies. The baklava is my personal favorite! Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, my wife and I discovered the Great Games Library and all of the fun it has to offer. We started coming in to play games with friends off-and-on every few weeks until finally getting our own membership last month. And we're not going back! We've now been stopping in every Saturday to play their in-store only games and then renting one to play during the rest of the week. Seriously, it's such a happy place. This place is off to a great start and is hitting all the right marks to be the absolute perfect board game cafe type place. I enjoy being in this space so much, because it is very relaxing, and so cool to be surrounded by amazing board games. It has a great ambience, the BEST selection of games to choose from I have ever seen. Lighting was great, and I didn't have to strain my eyes while playing a game which I really appreciated compared to other places where it is too dark or strong white lights so bright as the death star. Another thing I appreciated was that even when it is totally full, it is not too loud of a place, and you don't have any kind of echo effect which drives me nuts. I love the decor/color scheme, and the big windows giving lots of natural light. Very friendly, and accommodating customers and staff. This place is relaxing, cozy, and FUN. And playing a game their made me very happy. I really wish my local board game shop was as good as this place. read more

This a great game library . It important to support our FLGS... make sure on your visit to order food... everything I have eaten at the store is very very good. I love this place. Came here on a random date and ended up with a membership and have had a great experience "renting" games as well as playing in the store. James is always super friendly and has done all he can to keep germs from passing from one to the next. I feel safe and comfortable with his process.
