The approach to the contract was the better than you can imagine i.e. the Presentation & Quoting was efficient and on time. When it came to the actual construction period the efficiency continued. I was impressed with the company from the very start. They wore matching blue T-shirts which identified who they were with and had the slogan on the back of the shirts that said "Ask a landscape designer." That further increased my confidence in the product that they produced. But most of all, I was impressed by the quality of the work that was accomplished. They did what was promised, on time and on schedule. All through the process they consulted with me to get my opinion and often they referred to their supervisor who was aware of every detail. When there was a slight glitch (there are always the little things that come up) they were quick to fix it. They completed their work and did the cleanup as well. They left the site spotless! The folks working on his behalf made numerous mistakes, causing the project to go over time (by multiple weeks) and over budget, to the point we terminated working with them and had to finish the project ourselves (which was more time and more money for us). If Joe had been on site, it may have gone differently, but in the end, it was a very upsetting experience. Looking online, I see only the positive, raving reviews, but the company has been in business for so long that I wonder where the other reviews are...? If your project is unusual at all, shop around.

When I first met with Joe, he was very personable and gave good advice/suggestions! Sometimes, we think we know what we want, but when it gets close to getting done...not so much! Do It All Contracting had reasonable rates/pricing; e.g. another contractor was going to charge $20.00 more per hour for the electrical work. I hired Pillars of Earth to do snow removal at my new house before I moved in, three times over…read moreabout a month. (I didn't move in right away because I was having renovations done.) They promised to take photos of their work, so I wouldn't even have to travel to the house to make sure it was good. The first time, I had forgotten to leave outdoor lights on, so they were unable to clear the stairs down to the basement door in the dark, but they came back and did that the next day. The photos were a little delayed, but when they arrived, showed that Pillars of Earth had done a wonderful job clearing the snow in all the areas I asked (sidewalk, pathways up to the door, the garage, around the side of the house). There was a little bit of ice in a couple places but enough clear path to walk on. This was confirmed when I went to the house a little later on. The second time, they did a great job again, absolutely no complaints, and they sent photos again. The third time, I gave them very little warning, as I wanted the paths to be clear in time for moving day. I didn't hear back until after they had already done the work, the day after I requested it. They had taken photos as usual, and they didn't even charge me, as a housewarming gift! So in short: Pillars of Earth does a great job of removing snow, receives payment by etransfer, works on pretty short notice (generally a couple days), and is happy to do special things like taking photos of their work. The person I booked with, Tony, communicates by email and text (but not phone, due to lack of hearing, which is fine by me), and is very pleasant and nice! I definitely recommend Pillars of Earth for snow removal, and I'll be looking into their winter plan where they come whenever needed for a monthly fee.
