I was referred to this apartment by one of my colleague, and initially I was unaware of the apartment community and schooling district around the community. Also, I was specific in the apartment unit that I wanted in terms of apartment unit facing directions, look inside and outside view's etc., I was overwhelmed by the kind of support and response that I received by Snr Lease Consultant (MONICA RAMOS) at The Green at Chevy Chase apartment was just amazing and I never expected based on my previous experience on apartment finalization and move in's etc., Monica not only took pictures of the apartment based on my criteria and mail me, she was always in contact and providing me guidance on the formalities and made my move in a very smooth episode I am glad that the leasing office has the most efficient, helpful and hardworking employee as you get as Monica. Pro's: Maintenance staff are personable and good. CONS: The leasing office never calls you back. The manager (a man) is especially rude if you are a woman. Kids play in the parking lot and it's dangerous for drivers. Saw one kid jumping on a car hood. Tons of kids on bicycles in the parking lot. Buildings are old. They are doing renovations but it's not enough. They just raise the rent for renovated units. A/C and Furnace are old and inadequate. Fireplaces do nothing but lose heat. Windows are so old they don't keep any cold out. Appliances are so old. Our dishwasher never worked properly. No ice maker in the refrigerator. People working on their cars in the parking lot. People from the neighborhood to the north of the complex come over and dump their stuff in the dumpsters. Management does nothing to stop it. My car was broken into in the parking lot. Old paint and paint peeling in the window sills (probably lead paint) Loud upstairs neighbors. You can hear EVERYTHING they do. No elevators. Neighbor who feeds squirrels and attracts mice, rats, snakes, and other undesirables. He has multiple bird feeders and pans nailed to the rail. Management does nothing to stop him. Lived her for a few years now and we have nothing but wonderful things to say. The complex is beautiful and the staff is amazing. We got so lucky to have Monica as our leasing agent and she helped us find the perfect apartment. Anytime we have had questions or needed help, she is always happy to help and has always been so lovely. If you are looking for your next home, ask for Monica! Daniel in maintenance is also amazing. I lived at my apartment here for 2 years and I have had nothing but good experiences. The maintenance crew is very kind and responds quickly, the location is great, the rent prices are reasonable, and the office staff and landlord have all been more than accommodating. This place is a total dump. They don't clean the grounds. My daughter lives here, and I am disgusted at the waste all over this property...especially at the dumpsters. The garbage hasn't been picked up in weeks, (see photos), it's continuously accumulating, there are critters and bugs everywhere, it smells terrible, and I am sure they are in violation of numerous health codes. The leasing office fails to acknowledge this issue and blame's it on the residents, however it's ultimately the responsibility of the apartment complex, to make arrangements to have the trash picked up, and keep the grounds clean and in sanitized. How come other apartment communities don't have this problem? It's apparent that the management company/leasing staff don't take pride in their complex and don't care about the fact that residents are living in an area with waste and pollution surrounding them. If you are looking for a community that it clean, I would highly recommend steering very clear of this place. read more

I'm so disappointed with The Green at Chevy Chase. It started with two days without air conditioning this summer, then weeks with a broken garbage disposal, and now this. This is their solution to ice damming. It took TWO WEEKS to receive a tarp, yet I'm still using my own towels because the leak is spreading in so many places. We were told it won't be fixed until SPRING. And when I asked for a discount on my rent, the agent told me she would make a note of it. Shame on you Chevy Chase. I lived here a while back. The apartment I had was decent and functional but had old appliances and an old furnace and air conditioning unit. The maintenance staff was good in getting repairs done in a timely fashion. The grounds were decent. The office staff was nice but incompetent. They tried to get their way out of work. I did have to have a village inspector out to have the office staff to do their job only to have an individual on the maintenance staff try to retaliate against me for that despite having another individual on the maintenance staff agree that want I wanted done was an issue. Also, the laundry is in a common area which can be nice but unfortunately people would leave/forget that they are doing laundry. Another thing is that the hallways could smell of other people's cooking. One thing that annoyed me was that the management turned off the heater by the entrance so it would be cold when you entered during the winter time. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for an apartment. read more

I lived here several years ago and it was just horrible. Appliances are old, and the staff are incredibly rude. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. I see nothing has changed as they are constantly in the police blotter for theft and other crime. I am so thankful I moved away when I did. As with other reviewers, they wanted to raise my rent by several hundred dollars. They did this to everyone in my building as well, so we all left. I hear that they are struggling to fill vacancies. When they say, 'the place is not yet ready for viewing,' it is just one of their DIRTY tricks. It means they don't want you to see it because IT IS VERY DIRTY, and they are NOT going to clean it once you have signed the papers. THERE ARE BUGS ALL OVER THIS PLACE! On parking: There is ample parking space, but that's because no one lives here. The ones that stay here run this place to the ground, and everyone else has to pay for it. The only time I had a hard time looking for parking was during the Bears game, and you can imagine the after-effects that alcohol and fan-based events bring together. The area is surrounded by trees that are not maintained. The trees were hitting my windshield, and left sap there. Do you know how hard it is to remove sap from a windshield?! On noise: Paper-thin walls so I can hear my neighbors arguing and slamming doors. It is definitely NOT a refreshing place TO COME HOME TO after a long day at work. On grounds: In addition to TREES THAT ARE NOT MAINTAINED SO THEY SAP ON YOUR CAR, these are very old buildings, so THERE ARE BUGS EVERYWHERE that seep into the inside of your unit. On safety: SKUNKS greet us at our door every month. On construction: NO HOT WATER within a few months of being here. Clearly, no maintenance or any checks given on the unit before we moved in. On maintenance: We had several issues with our units, and for, all of them, maintenance staff walked in and LEFT THEIR SHOES ON OR DIDN'T EVEN PUT IN ANY SURGICAL BOOTIES. The COMMON HALLWAYS ABSOLUTELY REEK. IT SMELLS SO BAD! They mentioned there is a weekly cleaning crew, but maybe because they do not have to live here, they just ignore it. THEY IGNORE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS! On staff: THE STAFF ARE VERY DIRTY PEOPLE. They are also very DECEPTIVE and DISHONEST: We only lived their for a year, but they were ready to charge us with carpet damage for the last 5 years. There is an ADDITIONAL $50 CHARGE if you are one day over. I have to travel for work, and they will take your check for early payment if you send it in person, but mail it back later saying they cannot receive it. Who does that?! I have lived here for four years. My children will never let us move because they love the pools and bike path so much. We like to stop by the office to get cookies and the girls are so nice in the office. They always stop to talk to my kids and even give them candy bars or balloons when we stop by. The location is great and so are the schools. Even the maintenance guy gives my son a high five whenever he sees him. My son still talks about the maintenance guy that let him help water flowers one day. We are very happy here. read more

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! THEY Are Way Over priced for an old building. They do not take complaints seriously, In fact they'll use it against you for complaining and I never really complained at all. When Asking for management's phone number They will not give it to you. The girls in the Office are NOT management, Chevy Chase is an LLC. Therefore it's kind of a hard to find out who exactly is in charge & running this place. Thus I'm working hard with a lawyer to figure out who's calling the shots here & finding out more of the shady business that's going on here at Chevy Chase. They Do discriminate and will rip off you on money when you move out, Other tenants have told me this. They raise your rent so high and all the appliances in the units are never upgraded for residents who been there for years, like me! read more

It is one of the best communities in terms of Leasing Office services. In my opinion, credit goes to people like Lisa. I would like to mention one of the quite impressive experiences so far. My first North Shore gas bill was generated 5 times than expected. North Shore gas customer service had responded in a very poor manner multiple times after filing this complaint. I requested Lisa to help me regarding this issue. She has helped me as if it were the issue of her own apartment. She had been in conference (over 1 hour long) with North Shore to get the issue resolved for me. Lisa's sincere efforts and honesty towards her job are highly appreciated. read more

Rude staff with condescending attitude. The rent goes up $50 minimum every lease renewal. All old amenities, no luxuries, and walls are paper thin. The apartment itself is fine. Its getting up there in age, and we've had some problems with appliances and the furnace, but nothing out of the ordinary. Its adequate for what it is. Management, however, is awful. Aside from them being largely rude and unavailable if you have a problem, my biggest issue with them is their shady business practices. When it came time to renew my lease, they informed me there will be a 40%!!!!!!!!! increase in my monthly rent. FORTY PERCENT. I wasn't even on a special rate. Its the same damn apartment. They've done nothing to justify the increase. So my advice to would-be renters is, rent here if you must. But plan on leaving after your first year is up, as Chevy Chase WILL try and gouge you when it comes time to renew. read more

We moved out of the Green in October 2015 after being there for 3 years! It was good in the beginning. But it got worse as the years went on! The walls are so thin, we had issues with loud neighbors. One time we had to call the police! The grounds were good in the beginning, but got worse. It is full of Indians, and the management company is terrible! Lived here for 3 years in 2 different apartments (2010-2013). Never had a problem until we moved out and they charged us $900 for "cat urine" in our carpet. We never had a animal of any kind or even a child in that place. So obviously they never truly changed the carpet prior to us moving in like they promised...or they were lying to get money out of us. After arguing with them for weeks we got the price lowered a little, but they still screwed us out of money. I wonder how many other people they did this to. What a joke! read more

I lived here for 3 years and was always treated very poorly. It was always months to get anything fixed, even when I had significant water damage last winter. When I moved out I asked them multiple times to provide me with a final rent amount, but never heard back. I finally wrote them a check and gave it to them on the day I left (11th of the month) for the amount I thought correct. They then gave me the correct amount and charged me $50 for late payment. read more

this is a terrible place to live. The Staff is un-cooperative, the walls and ceiling are so thin you will never sleep. Can hear everything including people above you walking on the floor. Units are not decorated so they appear bigger than they really are. Kitchens don't even have matching colors for your appliances. Ugly fixtures, cheap flooring and carpeting. If your on the 1st floor, you will freeze. Keep on truckin and go right past The Green even if it is convenient for your work place, there are much better places. read more

They are so desprite for people to move in due to the very high move out rate they have started bribing the few that stay to right good reviews for them with concert tickets money off rent and trips to luxury vacation locations. Here is a true review i dont want people to get tricked by fake reviews. There is only 4 buildings that they allow dogs in and they make all the buildings by there office look great but the farther back into the complex you go the worse the buildings are i was in the back most part the only where dogs are allowed and they put new siding only on the building that you will see from the street the rest of the buildings outside is falling apart and some have holes that animals live in raise babies with management doing nothing to fix the issue or really caring that its happening or the bee hives everywhere in and around the buildings and right after i moved out my friend who still lives on property notified me that my old building got infested with bedbugs and maintenance said they cleaned them all out my buddy told me that he saw maintenance cleaning the infested building but then would go straight from the infested building into "clean" buildings without taking any measures to make sure they were not transporting bedbugs from building to building and he saw them removing beds and other infested furniture just throwing them off balconies and leaving them just lay there for a few day before putting them in the garbage area then a few weeks later there were bedbugs in all the buildings surrounding that one got infested. i suggested never living here and never go near the property. read more

I have bed bugs and although they are treating it, it's been 6 treatments over 12 weeks. I was told that this would be taken care of in 3 treatments over 6 weeks. I asked to be let out of my lease, since this place is uninhabitable. The mgmt will not budge. I either have to pay a buy-out or hope that they lease it (and have to pay rent until they do). The people I've been dealing with are very insensitive to what I'm going through - my clothes smell, there is grit everywhere, the exterminator has not told me everything that I need to know (and neither has the mgmt company). I would not recommend this place to ANYONE, ever. read more

I will not suggest this community altogether worth living as I have a horrible experience living here, when you will take a new lease the staff will be too much polite and they will show like they care for you too much. Once you are in the community, they altogether don't care what you feel or what you want to talk about, they are simply RUDE while talking on any topic. For example in Gym area there is no kid allowed and that is written on the notice that any one can hardly see, when I went to GYM with my wife and with my child because I did not know such policy earlier. Staff told to my wife that child is not allowed on any GYM machine, that time I did not understand what she is trying to explain, second time she again interrupted my wife and I just explained her that we are supervising our child and I asked her about the notice saying the same and she was not able to tell me where such notice is there and told me that it really does not matter. Somehow she found that notice and she arrogantly told me that from tomorrow on-wards I should not be seen in the GYM area with Child and told me to strictly follow the policy, very arrogantly, anyways I followed the same, my wife was waiting in leasing office going forward and I was working out, then we were swapping the child and after 6 pm, leasing office is closed so there is no way to sit in the leasing office but to wait in GYM area only but I was surprised that the staff has the problem with this also. Leasing office Manager called me to talk and asked me to adhere the policy, Still manager blamed on me only that I am the one who is not following the policy, finally she understood my concern, I guess. But from my point of view I seriously never found such issues in GYM in other communities and never seen the such staff rudeness earlier. Manager told me that they are getting the complaints that my baby is screaming and she is getting the complaints for the same, as per my knowledge in GYM, my baby never cried, so who complained, not sure, anyways I trust what she is saying, my whole point is if we can not do the GYM swapping our Child and staff can not corporate and creating the problems only, every time, why I will stay in this community? This is only one concern.Second: They are charging 600 dollars for a small crack on my door and telling that I forcefully broke my door, why I will break my door? Staff asking me to pay 600 dollars to replace the whole door, this is ridiculous. There are several other concerns as well that I can not list all of those here but I will just suggest to just keep away from this community, I am also just waiting to end my lease and to shift to some other community, I never had such a bad experience earlier. I hope that Manager has understood the concerns that I raised with her verbally and she will address so that other residents will not face the same issues that I faced living here. But I am not going to recommend to anyone to live in this community based on my till yet worst experience in this community! read more

The Green at Chevy Chase is so outdated. The rents keep going up, and they do nothing for the residents. The pools are filthy, as well as the pool deck. Its embarrassing to have guests over. The pool furniture is 15 years old, and the apartments all have insect problems. Some of the apartments have mice problems as well. One of my neighbor's told me that they put mouse traps in her place, and told her not to worry about it, and that the staff would come back in a week to check on it. The workout equipment is so old, and they don't spend a penny to improve ANYTHING !!! Stay tuned for the next review. read more

Very mismanaged property, very unscrupulous ; my application was approved ; I'd paid a preparation fee of 200 USD and application fee of 65 * 2 = 130 USD, and requested that the apartment be cleaned for my move-in. I don't have enough space to say how bad this place has become. I lived there for a while and let me tell you...every single year this place got worse and worse. From people who don't live there constantly invading the pool space, maintenance staff coming into my apartment and NOT TELLING ME or when I do know they are coming in they leave my place a mess. Some staff is nice and some want nothing to do with you and are rude as hell!!!! The end for me was me calling the office and complaining that I keep getting fruit fly's. I did everything that I was supposed to do and they sent an exterminator who even said I was doing everything correct. I kept complaining and finally told them if they don't do an apartment search I was going to call the city. Well, the city happen to come out and search and it turns out that my neighbor....well, let's just say they had to call a hazmat team in to clean his apartment and rip everything up. Did i even get so much as an "I'm sorry" or "This is what happened".....NO. The exterminator came to tell me what happened and when I went to the office, they wouldn't give me the whole story. I kept telling them it wasn't my fault and they never even tried to make it right. I can't begin to tell you how bad this place is. So outdated and way over priced. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The management staff is rude, they are stupid, they are liars and demeaning. The have screwed up rent, they have lied about getting things fixed, they are angry, pathetic people. We had Omaha Steaks sent to us, the package went to the office. The number on the box was incorrect and the moron in the office kept calling the number on the box.....FINALLY she took two seconds to look up our number at by that time they went bad. The staff WILL NOT accept responsibility for faults, they are garbage people. Everything in this dump breaks, be prepared to get scolded with hot water in the shower as the whole building uses the same water heater and if someone in another unit flushes a toilet you will get a blast of hot water for 2 minutes. REALLY HOT. The staff procrastinates on getting anything fixed. BUGS all over the place. Oh yeah, good luck flushing the toilets, they back up every day. Of course this is our fault. I have also lived in another myperfectplace property in Schaumburg and it was the same there, STAY AWAY FROM myperfectplace. Even the maintenance guys call the office staff useless.
