I have had several projects and always had a fair price, polite and professional servce from Greenhouse Nursery. The owner is always active, avavilable and all his staff is helpful. I had a hardscape bench and back paver patio as well as artifical turf, drainage sustem and numberous plants installed. Go out to Newberry and visit the property and have a soda on them, look around. I find them competitive with all the Big Box stores and the plants are great. read more

Stopped in this morning, I needed a few pieces of Zoysia sod, literally 4, I called, the woman on the phone let me know they did have pieces available. 10 minutes later I arrived, went inside and paid, went to my car, and a few minutes later a gentleman drove up on a golfcart with the sod and loaded it into my car. This nursery is big but the main focus is for outdoor and landscaping. They have a huge variety of mulch, stones, soil, plants, trees and decorations. I went looking for interior plants and the selection is limited and they were not appealing for the $$ asked. I didn't see any employee to ask except for two or three guys dealing with receiving the new mulch. I am not from the area and the GPS actually took me to the nursery across the street of this, but since it was closed I decided to try this one. If I visit Mulberry again I will probably stop by again. read more

Prior to having a couple of trees removed from my back yard, I needed to purchase a few cubic yards of fill dirt (delivered) so that I could level the area around the trees, which was very uneven. With no previous experience purchasing fill dirt, I got some phone numbers and started making calls. Some providers wouldn't handle small orders, others asked about $100 per cubic yard. Then someone suggested The Green House Nursery. Problem solved. For $250 I got 4 cubic yards, which was just right. We scheduled next-day delivery and I paid over the phone. The driver showed up 10 minutes early, backed into my driveway without mashing the azaleas growing on either side, and tipped the load into the exact center of the tarps I put out. Good quality fill dirt, too -- almost zero rocks, sticks or other unwanted content, and the dirt was uniformly loose and ready to shovel. I will definitely contact The Green House Nursery next time I need fill dirt -- which will probably be sometime next year. Thanks! read more

Have a small lawn service and Green House Nursery is a one stop shop. Today I need it 2 yards of topsoil for a customer. As I walked into the main office all the employees said hi that I passed that we're working in the garden areas. Employees at the front desk very professional and very knowledgeable about all the plants mulch and other items that the nursery sells. After a few moments I had the top soil was purchased I was out to have it loaded. One thing I mostly like is everybody has a radio to stay contact with the front office to help customers. The office had already radio the loader. To load my 2 yards of topsoil. The loaders are well-trained and know what they're doing with loading mulch rock and topsoil. Out of the several times that I have had things loaded onto my trailer. There has been a accident. The greenhouse nursery like I said is a one stop shop for all your landscaping supplies for residential and commercial. I am giving them a five star rating for their professionalism and commitment to their customers. read more

DO NOT shop at or frequent THE GREENHOUSE NURSERY in Newberry, Florida. I never write negative reviews and always try to make things right with businesses, especially small business owners thus writing this is difficult but necessary! Had a person come out to provide a quote on irrigation. NEVER once did anyone say the quote would be charged. Then a bill was emailed and when calling as to why there was a bill, the response was rude! Tammy says, "Well, we have enough information to send you to collections if you don't pay us." And then HUNG up on my husband mid sentence! At no time should a company charge for an estimate UNLESS IT IS acknowledged and accepted prior to the appointment and in writing is better. This is a bad business decision!!! Despite liking the gentleman who came out, we won't do business with an unethical company and will hopefully spare others from this. This used to be a cool place to visit but never again! Again, this was a bad business decision...we've spent more in plants there, referred many there, and now not getting the irrigation contract or any other business or referrals from us...so enjoy your $125! read more

I ordered a fountain through Greenhouse nursery. The original order was to pick up the fountain and then I wanted to have them deliver it. And I was going to have them to additional work, and that's when it got challenging. I kept getting passed from person to person for almost 3 weeks. They probably are a great place to buy plants, so I can't comment on that. But I didn't have a good experience with trying to order something through them... read more

AVOID this place. My job was scheduled for the end of summer. This was their recommendation. Suddenly they call me in the middle of July to do the job. I asked them what about the hit. It will grow they say. Because we have rain every day, the sod got fungus. After two fungicide applications, it seems that the sod will not recover. In addition to it, they left significant gaps between sod pieces. Justin the owner said to me that he would fill the gaps. I call back to let them know that the sod is not responding after the two applications. The lady said the owner would not deal with this and said, "show me in the contract and you have a good day" with a very sarcastic and condescending tone. Also, the job included pavers. hey wanted to install 8% of what I paid for. No shame. Do not use them. read more

My husband and I were looking to get jumbo pine bark mulch delivered and installed (Jumbo costs more but it lasts a longer.) There are numerous companies that deliver mulch in Gainesville but I found only 2 willing to install it. The first company estimated we'd need 14 cubic yards and offered to deliver and install it for $3,600 at first but eventually went down to $3,200. The second company, The Green House Nursery offered us 20 cubic yards (that's what I estimated we needed) - delivered and installed - for $1,394 tax included! We were a little hesitant because usually you get what you paid for but decided to go with them expecting some of our plants would be damaged in the process because they use a machine to spread mulch. Surprise! Not ONE plant was damaged! 3 guys were working almost all day. They used a wheal barrow and shovels instead of a machine. My estimate of 20 cubic yards turned out to be a little over board so these guys spread the extra mulch in our back yard exactly were my husband instructed them to. I've lived in Gainesville for 15 years and have been excited to see this nursery come on line and grow. Unfortunately, they have been a real disappointment. There staff have been impatient and rude, their prices are quite high for a suburban nursery and plant stock that I've bought has struggled to survive after being installed. Staff and customers here are not addressing local public health ordinances. We visited in late May and not a single person was wearing a mask. The owner is Justine Green. He has gotten into trouble with undocumented labor and has attempted to sue the County over their public health mandates. Its to protect the PUBLIC Justine, not to offend your sense of freedom and individual rights. Please don't endanger others because you can't handle being told what measures you can take to protect others. read more

I was very satisfied with their service and appreciative of the information Justin provided pertaining to its care. He even went out of his way to remove a baby snake to a safer environment! I first went to this nursery a few weeks ago and I have been there every weekend since. I am in the process of landscaping my yard and they have so many options to choose from! The staff is super helpful without being overbearing and the prices and great. I even had them come out to my house to give me a quote for sod and irrigation installation. I felt the complete lack of respect for my property as they have left concrete splattered all over my stucco house and on three windows since they disappeared from the job on August 3rd. I've been going to this nursery and searching for a patio fountain for a few years. I finally decided on one from The Green House Nursery. Everything was set and the contract was signed. I was told it was going to be installed the following week. After multiple phone calls initiated by me and no communication whatsoever from the nursery, by Friday evening, I was so frustrated I drove to the nursery to speak face to face with the owner. I asked him if he was aware of my situation and the runaround I've been receiving for a week. I was given excuse after excuse... From being told someone came down with food poisoning, we're waiting for the crew to come, to the owner is in a meeting with the workers outside and I can disturb him. When I finally had the opportunity to speak to the owner, I was never treated with such disrespect as a customer. As much as I wanted that fountain and knew I was spending too much money ($1,500) for it, I canceled my order a walked away from my dream. Something that was really looking forward to turned into a nightmare. As a result, needless to say, I will never set foot in the nursery again! recently had St. Augustine sod pallets installed in our yard. After 3 weeks all the sod died. tried to contact the owner without success. One of the techs came and took photos of the dead sod and several weeks later they sent an email requesting another $649.80 on top of the $1200.00 we already paid to remove and replace. Contract says if sod damaged after completion they are not responsible but clearly the sod was damaged before installation. we requested $1000.oo in restitution but they deny doing anything wrong. My entire yard is green and healthy except were they installed the sod. I wouldn't recommend doing business with them read more

I really like coming here. It's always a good experience. The place is huge! The employees are very friendly and do their best to make sure you aren't waiting too long. I get mulch, river rocks and numerous plants here. Sometimes I'm not sure of the names of plants and if I bring in a picture they can usually recognize it. They are also pretty knowledgable and if they don't know they find out. They also have some really awesome food trucks and bands on weekend evenings. read more
