Does anyone else have a complaint or ever filed a complaint? I am very suspect of AZ Travel Center in Phoenix who seems to be selling travel services as well and collecting membership fees.

So in the morning of June 25, my significant other and I went to this business. Eden Vacations appears to be a franchise from an AZ-based parent company. Given the rather flimsy banner loosely tacked over the door, I'd say they had been in business only a few weeks. After being checked in and shown to our assigned table, we were greeted by an overly eager salesman. We answered a few questions about our travel habits, we were welcomed by the too-nervous owner, then sat through a 30'ish minute PowerPoint presentation. The presenter was a decent speaker and did her best to connect with the audience. The PowerPoint, however, needed work. But we were trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, since it seemed they'd just opened. This is not a traditional time share pitch, but it is sort of like a time share that you can use anywhere. There are about 5 packages at different price points, and of course the higher in price you go, the more options you have. If I remember correctly, the lowest package only got you a week of discounted lodging at your choice of destinations. After the presentation, our salesman came over and ran through the various options. I think the lowest was about $5,000 and the highest was around $16,000. Of course there was a small price break to sign up right then and there. Why anyone would willingly part with $16,000 after only a couple of hours of glossy photos and vague details is beyond me, but a couple of people did sign up. We, however, did not. When it became clear we were not going to purchasing any package, our salesman brought us our airline and cruise certificates, briefly explained how they worked, and we were on our way. It will cost your $75 and $99 in cashier's checks (+ the $8 for the 2 checks my bank charged) that you must send in with your certificates within about 21 days of the presentation. The certificates we received were for VIP Travel Reservations. According to the fine print, VIP would forward the vacation planning package upon receipt. We sent our completed certificates and cashier's checks via certified mail (another $3 or so), as required, to VIP on July 5. I confirmed they received the envelope a few days later. As of early August we still had not heard anything. VIP employees are generally helpful when you get them on the phone, but they only accept calls from 10am - noon and 1 - 4pm EST. And their phone is often busy. You can leave a message; sometimes you'll get a call back, sometimes you won't. Their website (viptravelreservations.net) is not currently working, which leads me to believe they too won't be in business much longer. On August 11, I finally got a hold of a helpful VIP employee who told me my certificates were rejected because the sponsor - Eden Vacations - never completed their portion of the form. Eden had stamped the certificates (I kept copies of EVERYTHING), and after hearing this the employee spoke to his supervisor and informed me they would accept them. Unfortunately, that evening I saw in the mail they had sent the certificates, and fortunately the two cashier's checks, back. The stamp Eden used had worn off and there was clearly no info on the sponsor. While we could have tried it again, given that it has been this much hassle, we were still going to have to pay additional fees such as taxes and port charges, and that VIP's website seems now non-existent, we decided to cut our losses and redeposit the money from our cashier's checks. Fortunately, we're out only about $11-12 and a couple of hours of our lives. So, buyer beware! Perhaps you'll sit through the presentation and decide to purchase one of their packages. If their services work for you, I say enjoy. Regardless, if you are given a certificate for any sort of free travel, MAKE SURE THEY COMPLETE THE SPONSOR INFORMATION! Be a nag about it and don't leave there until you are 100% sure the certificate is completed properly by them. But mostly, don't waste your time on these sorts of travel companies. I think those who do sign up will shell out the money and only use the service a few times. They live fat off your hard earned money and you don't take full advantage of any services. Sorry, Eden, but you've angered the wrong person and now I will make sure others learn from my mistake and are not taken in by your claims. I will be posting this and similar reviews of your company on other sites.

I highly recommend everyone to trust this company for all your special travel needs. My then fiancé, now husband, and I contacted Peter to help us arrange our wedding ceremony and mini honeymoon in Iceland. I was seriously so confused with all the rules and red tape involved with getting married there. It is definitely not as easy as people make it seem in the blogs! Thankfully, Peter had my back! He works with a fantastic company in Iceland called Nordic Visitor. I can't tell you how pleased we were with both companies. They made every day there so special! We were picked up promptly in Iceland by our super nice driver Aleksander. He had a beautiful Mercedes waiting to take us to Hotel 101 in downtown Reykjavik. We were even able to check in way early. The hotel was insanely nice and the customer service was even better! A couple days we would come back from our adventures and find chocolate covered strawberries and complimentary champagne waiting for us! Every adventure we had planned went off without a hitch. Every driver was promptly on time, waiting for us in our lobby. We even got to squeeze in some snowmobile action after the golden circle tour thanks to our awesome driver that pulled some strings! I'm so impressed how amazing everything came together and we're using this company for all our future trips!

They wouldnt discuss their available tours over the phone and asked that my MIL show up in person instead. I called asking if there were pamphlets available to get and review, to decide which tour would be best. The lady said yes. I arrived, very well aware that the lady helping me was not the same person on the phone. I asked about pamphlet, she said they dont have such a thing. I would have to tell her where Im interested in going in order for her to print something out for me. Unfortunately, she wasnt able to print ANY of their tours because there's just too many. She continued to be very pushy in asking where we wanted to go. I don't know, why else do you think Im here!!! How does one expect someone to answer if you can't provide me what you can offer in the possible states you may be going to? She kept repeating Boston, which leads me to think thats the most popular place to go. One would not need to go to a tour company, if they know where to go and what to do. Obviously, Im coming to you, and asking what your company can provide me. Another thing that was irritating. Im speaking to the lady in english. This older man starts chiming in, in mandarin. Why? One, why are you talking to me and two, why are you talking to me in another language? Very unprofessional.

It is involved in selling airline tickets, packaged tours, assisting with securing a visa for China travel, as well as watch repair and traditional Chinese apothecary. We stopped in with friends from Asia who wanted to buy travel and touring in Miami, Florida (Can't blame them!). The elderly gentleman who greeted us moved with deliberate care, but was friendly and attempted to assist. From observation, this shop is not licensed as a travel agency, but acts to consolidate travelers for an offsite provider of direct services. All he had were brochures; not even a computer for bookings. The opposite wall had medicinal herbs for sale. There was another corner for watch repair. We didn't do business here, as it was obvious the owner had an indirect relationship with travel, and knew little about the business. Still, we accepted what information he had, thanked him, and continued on our way. In fact, there are several such "travel service" offices around the neighborhood, and most of them seem to be only looking for a commission for passing the customer down the line to the actual agency. No need to deal with any of them if you are internet savvy. All is available to those who know how to seek. An interesting cultural experience to watch, but not one to buy into.
