The Green Shelf was my go to shop for some time; decent prices and friendly people. There's still some decent prices, if the product is actually available, which it usually isn't. Flower is hard to come by a lot of the time. Service is hit or miss; sometimes they're really friendly, and sometimes not so much. The shop itself is a dark hole in the wall. If you used to buy weed from a bodega, you'll right at home in this place. Of the three cannabis shops in Ellensburg, this one is last on my list now. read more

Nice store, pleasant and helpful staff, worst buds I've bought in 52 years. Looks great with obsoletely no taste, smell or high. I don't know what's been done to this weed but it doesn't get you high at all. It has obsoletely no smell of marijuana when it burns, no density at all. I went in to get a cartridge, there were some on sale so I bought 2. Was told to keep receipt if anything went wrong with the cartridges. We instantly have problems drawing out of the cartridges and one of the mouth pieces was loose so they get brought back. We have the receipt but we don't have the packaging for the one of them so they won't accept it. The green shelf was the only store in town that sold this brand of cartridges because of poor quality and the budtender mentioned that the cartridges would only smoke well out of the store battery. I was never informed of this. She then offers to sell us the battery they sell and having no issue with the battery before, we refused to buy the battery. We were told to come back to talk to the owner manager. This budtender was very nice and I have no issue with her. Coming to the store to see the manager, I was a little irritated but I told the story to the owner, Brittany, and she acted in a very hostile manner, acting like I was personally accusing her of doing something wrong. She informs me that the battery that we were using probably shorted the cartridge out and tells me about a policy where bud tender should have told me about the cartridge battery requirement. I was never told about this, just about the receipt. She then tells me she will look at the camera and find the time stamp that I was in the store to make sure that I was not told about the voltage and would chew out that bud tender. I'm not sure how she can confirm that because recording audio in stores is illegal in Washington state. I respond by saying that i was sold a product that I can not use. She dismisses it, mentioning that we were able to get a small amount out of the product and tells me "please get this product out of my store." I then ask her name and I tell her I will be placing reviews on various websites. She says if my attitude was different she might have worked with me. She then tells as I was walking out the door, "why don't you call the manufacturer, do you want their number?" I say "sure" and then she responds "then google it." Brittany, the business owner, is the epitome of unprofessional and I'm seriously doubting that I will do ever go back. I now understand why she has the reputation that she has. read more

The employees are all great and very helpful, but the management (owner) and the way she treats employees & customers need a lot of help. When you are told a return/exchange (that didn't work) is "illegal" even with the receipt (which is NOT true) to scare the customers & employees to not ever exchange something that is faulty is bad business. We spend about $200/week (roughly, sometimes more) and we haven't ever had any issues until this time, it seems like the owner doesn't care about the customers nor the product she sells. Unfortunately, she lost great customers. While my husband was explaining the situation a lady walked in behind him with an exchange due to her defective pipe she purchased and they said they probably couldn't exchange it due to her trying to use it. Bottom line is, if you want to spend your hard working money here just remember, the owner does not stand behind her product. read more

Honestly, back when the other review was posted I REALLY liked this place; I went everyday and enjoyed the staff, the product/selection, and the overall experience. But as of the last few months, this place has ruined its image in my mind. Sure every once in awhile they have an awesome deal, but dealing with the staff makes it not worth it. The girls that I would do business with at the store a few months ago were all friendly and helpful when deciding what to buy. But now, it seems as though the necessary criteria to getting hired here is having 0 customer service experience and a bad attitude. I seriously felt unwelcome the last time I went in here to buy weed. And I understand recommending product to customers, but making the customer feel stupid for wanting a certain product? Yeah, no thanks. RUDE. Also, the bouncer guys have always been cool about the whole id'ing everyone thing and of course do it, but lately the bouncer spends over a minute inspecting my id. Like if you think its fake just tell me so I can prove its real and we can move on. But they're not the problem really. Its the girls with bad customer service. I will only ever go back here when I am absolutely desperate for weed and the other shop in town has blown up. Hope the owner takes responsibility for the unfriendly staff and shapes them up, but I doubt it will happen. Off to the competitors I go. read more
