I manage events remotely from the West Coast, and I was in dire need for a last minute drumkit rental. To make matters tougher, the drummer for the event was traveling so I couldn't get the exact specs needed. Here's what the team did for me: 1. Helped me pick the PERFECT drum kit for our jazz set simply based on previous videos/pictures of my drummer's performances. 2. Accommodated an earlier pickup on the day of to help us do sound check in time. 3. Accommodated a later drop-off because of logistical issues on our end. 4. Lastly, despite being in need, they didn't scalp me. They worked with me, and offered a reasonable price. I work with a lot of studios + venues, and the professionalism and hospitality of this team is undeniably S-tier. If you're an event promoter, an artist, or a band manager, I can't offer a higher recommendation for Red Note. Special thanks to Will for ironing out our contract, Rose for handling logistics, and Joey for really looking out for his employees as well as graciously dealing with us.

When I would travel far from home, sometimes I would need to find a place where I could find a piano/keyboard practice to use. I checked out Yelp to see what studios were near me during a recent Brooklyn trip, and Red Note had excellent reviews (and more importantly availability on short notice). If you are looking for a music expert/audiophile review, you can skip this review now given my lack of technical knowledge. However, I can say that it was super easy to book a room by the hour, and the person checking me in once I arrived was friendly and helpful. The digital keyboard that I used worked well, and while it took me some time to figure out the audio setup, I ultimately had no trouble using the space on the two days I went. I would return to this studio without hesitation whenever I'm in Brooklyn or the NYC area.

I booked one of the "pro recording studios" w vocal booth to record some voice over. I was…read moreskeptical so I also booked the same studio days before I had to record with talent to make sure it would work. The studio smelled of cigarettes, the headphones provided didnt work, the mic cradle was broken, and nothing was properly set up. I contacted support who offered another room which also had broken headphones, and an $80 mic instead of the $400 mic promised. No spares were available. I notified customer support and asked if the room could be fixed in the three days before my booking w talent and was told theyd put in a request but no guarantees. Despite this the room was in the same state the day of my recording. Thankfully I was skeptical and purchased my own backup headphones and mic. I tried to use the "pro recording" vocal booth one more time in a pinch and the room wasn't acoustically isolated and you could hear a band practicing in another room very loudly in the vocal booth. I contacted support and was offered another room that was quieter but had even more broken equipment and holes burned in the wall. Seems like a solid place to practice with your band, but there is nothing "pro" about the recording studios offered and apparently no ability for support to actually address any issues besides leading you to yet another room with broken equipment. Its a shame because its a great idea that could be really useful if they actually hired someone to check out/fix studios every week or few days but currently I urge you not to rely on this place, especially for anything important because people apparently treat the studios like garbage and the owners apparently dont want to spend any money or time fixing things so that they actually provide the service they advertise. I gave em three chances, notice, and time to fix things but they failed miserably every time. A fun place to practice but an absolutely terrible place to record. Do better

The Drums were not dogged and sounded great with Paiste cymbals and newer skins. The location is interesting but we parked right in front and felt safe. I would definitely go back next time. Everything added up including price, service, equipment and no bad experiences. This is one of the first times in a long time that we really had nothing negative to say about a rehearsal studio.

They have 3 rooms, all sound isolated and each with full kit, 2-3 nice guitar amps, bass amps, PA system, mics , stands cables, etc. A couple of the rooms have couches in the rooms and one has a decent Rhodes. $25-30hr. They don't charge extra for mics like other places. The guy Dan who is in charge of booking is super friendly and accommodating. Each room is bigger then the largest room at sweatshop for half the price. Not right next to the subway like sweatshop is but worth it for the extra size and value. About a 8min walk from the Grand stop of the L for those who don't have a car. I've always loved hanging out at the bar downstairs. Coolest strip club in nyc. Found out one night they have a rehearsal space upstairs. Didn't know what to expect, one of the girls took up and introduced me to Dan who showed me around. And now I have another reason to go there :) Pumps, you rule. pumpsstudios@gmail.com for booking if they don't answer the phone. He usually gets back to you quickly.
