    Breakfast burrito with gravy

Delicious. Best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Great service. Great owner. Thoroughly enjoy my meal everytime I come here. Highly recommend!

    Legit Irish and Iowa signage!

Under new management... the menu pictures were not accurate. However, The ribeye sandwich was amazing along with the Rueben and the cheeseburger were so tasty. The appetizers were tasty not over done! Love all the local tap beers available. The waitress Stephanie and the cook/owner Bob were so prompt and friendly. Came here for the National Balloon Classic and will be back next year! Hot balloons Jokers Wild and Living the Dream truly appreciate their friendliness and hospitality.

This past weekend, our family gathered here to celebrate after a family wedding and enjoy more time together since family had traveled from across the country. The restaurant agreed to host our group and closed to host us as a private party. This was the nicest offer from them. We loved being able to move around in small groups and visit and catch up with each other. We were able to order drinks and food as we wanted. The staff was so sweet and wonderful. They accommodated everything - even making sure there was chocolate milk and apple juice handy for parents to grab for young kids. We ordered the chicken sliders and the shepherd's pie. The sliders had such great flavor. The shepherd's pie was filling and a fun pub dish. The homemade chips were the best we've had - not greasy, perfectly cooked. Thanks to this group - you helped provide many great memories for our family and we will be happy to return in the future!

This was good. The scotch egg was better than the British restaurant in Des Moines. I had the salad with chicken and it was very sweet. Fries were served warm. The fish tasted like fried fish and not overly greasy. I technically think this is just food, nothing amazing but cooked well. I would have given this a 3 but I really enjoyed the scotch egg and aioli!

Groggy Dog is a great addition to Indy. I would recommend the Guinness Stew. It was mind blowing delicious.

Liked our bartender/server and her friendliness . Loved the divey-but-not-too-divey atmosphere. Shout out to their kitchen being open on the later side during the week. Friday Night At the Angry Gold Fish…read more This is usually a solid place to get a burger, but came up short. We arrived around 7:30 and it was busy. I asked for the corner table which was large and there were two of us. I chose it because it was quiet and it was so loud. The waitress seamed super annoyed. I am deaf in one ear and this was the best place so I could hear and actually enjoy the place. I didn't feel her attitude was justified. If she would have kept pushing the point it was going to get pushed to the manager as I have several disabilities and I don't use them, but I do choose certain places to sit to help manage them. My expectation is for the waitress to be kind and shouldn't matter if it's two people, four people, or six people. Should be glad to have a customer and business. My wife and I got a Knob Creek on the rocks to start off. We also each got the old fashion, one with tots and one with fries. The burgers have really good flavor, but wasn't even hot. The bun was super dry and I wound up leaving the bun and eating the burger. The tots were really good, but also not hot. My wife's was the same. The French fries were good, but not hot. I didn't say anything to the waitress because based on her attitude it was just going to make the night worse and I was out to have a nice evening. I have been here several times and this is my first bad experience here and I hope it's not a sign that the restaurant is going downhill. This is one of my go to spots in Des Moines to get a great burger and it should be fire on a Friday night. Fresh and delicious, not cold and dry, is the new requirement, an angry waitress to complete the Angry Goldfish vibe?

My only issue is food temperature---while served eye appealing it was just warm -- work on food temperature control -- the sweet potato fries were awesome and the egg rolls with barbecue sauce and sausage were solid. Intimate, dark atmosphere inside, and brighter (and often warmer!) out back on the patio. Meatloaf and Salmon entrees are regulars for us, but we've tried almost every sandwich and many of the other entrees, and they are always full of flavor and delicious. Salads are fresh and have very good quality lettuce and veggies. Dressings are good as well. Small bar with drop in seating, but it pays to get a reservation. They currently use Toast to take reservations and you'll get a reminder the day prior to your visit. Walk in's often find it challenging to squeeze in here!
