I wouldn't bother using this groomer, there are much better groomers available on long island. They will cut your dog off from getting groomed out of nowhere, without even a second thought, even after they've been grooming your pup for 10+ years. The reason they chose to do this is because as dogs age, they get cranky, and apparently they can't handle a dog that doesn't love to get groomed. If you were an actual groomer, you would have mastered how to handle that situation, and not just cut the customer off. But then try and use some BS excuse and tell me that the reason he was cut was because he missed maybe 2-3 appts, over the entire 2023 YEAR, bc they would never admit that they don't have the skills needed to handle a senior dog. And I'm sure I'm not the only customer that missed 2-3 appts over the entire YEAR, and I'm sure those customers didn't get cut. Nicole also cut my dog too short at his last few appts. He had put on a little extra weight and I guess she didn't realize so when he got back from seeing her at the groomers, I noticed a weird looking spot on his back that seemed to be bothering him. I checked his back and it was bald in a couple of spots, almost like she got impatient with the buzzer and kept running it aggressively down his back without checking to see if he was getting irritated. No wonder he got snippy with you, I would absolutely expect him to snip/bite someone that was deliberately hurting him due to them rushing thru his cut so he's done within one hour. Btw- my sister found a groomer for her new puppy, and her dog isn't in and out in one hour; they estimate 4-5 hours and she always looks great. So your hour grooming time is total bullshit and rushed. If I had known they cut your dog off as soon as they turn 10, or when they become a little cranky, I would've chose another groomer years ago when I had first gotten my pup. He's very picky about who he likes and he actually liked his groomer there but they refuse to see him anymore. I mean what kind of person does this to a senior dog?? Most definitely not a person who actually loves dogs, that's for damn sure!! The Groomers/Nicole have no loyalty, and absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. Now I'm stuck trying to find a new groomer, that my 10yo senior dog is going to have an extremely hard time warming up to. And I want to make it clear that the only reason he even liked Nicole at all is because he met her when he was just a puppy, that's all, and nothing more. Because she has zero personality and is going blind apparently with those giant glasses and going by the way she cut my dogs back. Don't bother!!! And keep on looking elsewhere. read more

Nicole one of the kindest, most empathic, loveable humans I have ever met. She is super talented, gentle, and extremely loving to my dog. She is one of the very few people he likes. She does an excellent job with him and pays attention to detail. I trust her judgment 1000%. I will follow her wherever she is. The entire staff at The Groomers are amazing. Emma was super sweet and provided us with all the necessary info! They had a nice setup with the side window that they used so they could follow covid guidelines. The first time using The Groomers for my two pups was a great success! Emma scheduled my appointments via phone and made it super easy for me to book my girls for the same time. My sweet senior dog (14 yr old lab/golden mix) only requires a bath and TLC as she is a bit of a nervous nellie, and my two year old mini goldendoodle is a sweet but hyper one who needed a good haircut badly. When I brought my girls to their appointments, I was greeted by Emma and other staff with smiles and genuine caring. Emma asked me to share a picture of how I would like my MGD to look and I was happy to oblige. When I returned to pick up my two girls, they looked and smelled amazing! My golden doodle did have some knots that Emma was able to take care of without scalping my girl like other groomers have done in the past. I felt they were reasonably priced and really took great care of my precious dogs. I immediately scheduled the girls' next appointments, as they definitely book up fast. All in all - a wonderful experience and I am so happy to finally have found my forever groomer after trying several before them. Highly recommend! I'm trying to be as civil is possible when writing this review. We have been going to this groomer for years, even before they were on Brentwood Rd. and at Cozy Pet. She was very good to my dog Molly in grooming her properly. We had a couple of situations where we had to take her to the vet after an appointment either from the buzzer cutting Molly or a recommendation from her that something is wrong. I always respected her opinion when she advised me to take her to the vet as I always thought it was her being caring towards my puppy. That was until I picked up my dog this past weekend. She called out me for not being able to give proper care towards my dog, thought my dog was in pain, and advised me to take her to the vet and put her down. It is completely unprofessional to tell that to someone and way out of line to say that I can't give proper care to my dog. I make sure to watch for signs if my dog is having issues eating, drinking, going to the bathroom etc. and hearing her say that hurts. I will never go back and give another dime to this owner. I'd advise you try someone else unless you want to hear about putting your dog down. read more

If I could give The Groomers a hundred stars I would. My boy Jack has always been a little skittish when being groomed, but today we tried The Groomers for the first time and this was the best experience for him and us. The girls on intake were very informative and asked us what we wanted for his haircut. We were told Jack would be ready in an hr and a half. We loved that we didn't have to leave our baby all day. It was just like a hair appt for humans. When we came back for Jack we were so surprised on how amazing he looks, he even got his teeth brushed, a little goodie bag and an adorable scarf.
