Before his haircut. Happy and healthy.

I brought my dog to the vet hospital and there are long waits there but everyone is friendly. No complaints there. The real issue is the grooming salon. We brought our dog there and it took 7 hours. He came out looking like a rat, he was completely shaved. Then he went on to shake for days and 2 days later started vomiting to the point he was throwing up blood. $1k at the doggy ER and a round of antibiotics, turns out both ears had under his fur, giant infected cuts the grooming salon failed to notify me about beyond "he didn't like getting his ears trimmed". This place is a scam. We spent $70 on grooming for a terrible outcome and then had to spend even more because they infected him and didn't tell us. Disgusting. Worst place ever. We almost lost our 1 year old dog due to the carelessness of petco.

I came to support NY Bully Crew for Pit Bull adoption & awareness. Vanessa, the sweetest girl brought a gray bully pit named Rae to this Petco store. Rae was sweet & quiet even though there were many people & dogs walking by her. All she wanted was belly rubs & to be petted. Definitely NOT an aggressive dog like most people believe all pits to be. Check out their website for info on how to donate or adopt any dog. www.nybullycrew.org 4-29-2016

I thought it was a great experience for my little pup until I got home and found the scratch in the below photo. When I called, she said he possibly scratched himself (the photo is most definitely not a scratch). She indicated that it was nothing done during his bathing, drying, or nail cutting, but that she would check with someone. As I waited, she hung up on me. I am extremely disappointed as my dog has suffered terribly as a shelter dog, and is scared of new environments. I will not be visiting this location again.

We took our dog in to Bay Shore, NY location for a grooming session with a hair cut. We pick him up later in the day and notice that the grooming was sub par which is bad in it self but when my wife and I looked closer at him, we notice that his right inner ear had been cut (probably by accident). I went back in and asked the groomer by the name of Kristen, M what happened and she told me that they didn't know what happened. When we brought him in, he didn't have that cut on his ear. The problem is that if they accidentally cut his ear then it should've been brought to our attention. We NEVER bringing our dog there again and I WILL be talking to the manger during the week. Please look at the attached PICs to see what I'm talking about.

Dog Food Receipt

This store doesn't care about the well-being of your pet. The only person willing to help was Mrs. Diane. I am from Texas visiting family for the holidays, and only had one can left of a prescription dog food for my dog. I showed the online order history, and even had my vet's clinic receptionist talk to the store vet, and the store vet refused to let me purchase at least one can without a prescription present. She was not willing to help me. I told her several times that I only had one can left, and she refuse to do an exception to policy for one can. I will never shop in a petco store anymore.

They had dead fish laying in the bottom of their dirty tanks

The place was dirty. The employees were all in a terrible mood. The fish area had dead fish laying in all of the bottoms of the tanks. I was horrified, I couldn't even buy anything from there. I had to leave.

I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. I joke with everyone that I think they implanted a program into his brain! Lol! The transformation was unreal. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! Max K9 has given us the ability to live an active lifestyle and have our pup enjoy it with us. Hikes, traveling, morning walks, trips to the store, brewery visits, long car rides out of state... you name it. I would do it all over again if I had to without a question. So if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I hope this helps you make your decision to having a better relationship with your pup and enjoying life with them every step of the way.

We were having trouble trying to help him adjust from living in the south on a large property to living in a one bedroom apartment with cats and a smaller back yard. We were set up with our trainer, Jim, he educated us on how to handle Keiko properly (from basic obedience to different enrichment), build a better bridge of communication and help with his confidence. Our last session Keiko even decided he was going to try one of the obstacles from maximum K9's agility course (no prompting from us) shocking both me and my fiancé. Safe to say Keiko loves Maximum K9 as much as we do . Since our training we have been able to do so much more and get Keiko better involved in our activities (which we know he loves). They also have so many great treats, toys, and training tools for those at varying levels in their store portion.

Paul does everything with passion, a sense of humor, love, and patience. Paul has devoted his life's calling to truly being an advocate for dogs. I wholeheartedly feel that if you are looking for someone to improve your whole relationship with your dog, and give them and yourself a better life, Paul easily becomes the voice for your dog and helps teach you how to understand them and their difficulties or troubles. Paul has helped my family and I prepare for our new baby; he provided us with lots of great information to help us better understand how our dog feels and how we can overcome some issues many trainers couldn't even begin to understand in the past. We adopted our Husky Mix Molly because we fell in love with her as soon as we saw her, and even though we knew she needed us, it was us who needed her more. Molly has a troubled background, having been abandoned in the woods and forced to fend for herself until she was rescued. Paul focuses on fear free training methods which are easy to understand whether your dog is a puppy or more of a senior. He works with all breeds of dogs and all people in a respectful and fun manner. Paul will answer your calls or texts, he will stay with you until you are 100% sure what you need to do, and he will get on the floor and lay down with your dog if that's what it takes. He has done this with our Molly in a public park, and yes, Molly loved him for it. Molly was extremely fearful prior to our sessions with Paul. We are proud to call Paul a true genius in his field, and a friend we will forever be grateful for. Don't think twice before calling him, it will be the best decision you ever made for yourself, your pet, and your whole family.

Conformation, rally, agility, obedience (both basic and competitive) are taught by trainers who have all competed and earned advanced titles. They also have several basic classes for total beginners. They know dogs. Another benefit is that the facility is large enough to host competitive events. There are trials throughout the year. Many of the students are also high-level competitors, and beginners can learn a lot just by watching and asking questions. Ring rentals, in which you can practice on your own, are reasonably priced and you can book by the hour or half hour. The trainers take great interest--and joy--in seeing their students succeed. You have a built-in cheering squad. I see the comments saying that the people are not warm and fuzzy, but dog people generally have a reputation for being a bit crusty. They're dog trainers, not politicians. What matters to me is that they get results. This year trainer Teri N. helped me and my Emily earn a title that I never dreamed we would achieve. At the next class, Teri and my classmates (who have all become friends) surprised us with a cake, flowers, and a little celebration. That's plenty warm and fuzzy for me. I love this place.

She cares so much for animals and the way they are treated and trained. She focuses on positive reinforcement and is thoughtful in how she responds and interacts with dogs. She helped us counteract some of our puppies negative behaviors with replacing them with more acceptable behaviors. Both of our Labradoodles have also stayed with Melanie for Board and Train (multiple times). Each time our pups returned they were calm and ready to show off their new skills (like staying on their beds during meal times). She also sent us photos and videos to show us the progress they made while we were away. We just love the positive influence Melanie has had on our pups. We also have 2 children and Melanie worked with both of them to teach them training techniques they could use with our dogs. We have recommend several friends to Melanie who have also had great experiences with her training their dogs as well. We highly recommend Melanie and Wagmore dog training!

After seeing him a few times the Vet recommended a strong treatment of prozac to help alleviate his symptoms. However, before going the chemical route I wanted to try solving his symptoms in a more holistic manner. After a few renowned trainers told me he was a lost cause, trainers who probably build their reputation based on the easiest of cases, Melanie Bennet entered the picture. We had a consultation and Melanie was compassionate with my dog and helped me understand his mindset as well as a training regimen that could help him improve. She was very realistic in managing my expectations and helped me understand what was achievable in the training and what would be a stretch. I enrolled my dog in a 4-week training bootcamp where Melanie focused on teaching my dog relaxation techniques. Some things I observed after my first visit is that he would lay down a lot, I thought he was tired or scared but then learned Melanie trained him to do that whenever he was overly aroused. Similarly he would stop moving his tail to calm himself down. Throughout successive visits I observed how my dog was more composed and relaxed. He was also paying more attention to me so he could follow my lead. After the first three weeks he had been able to learn to calm himself down enough to reinforce the basics and learn a few cute tricks. He learned how to walk on a gentle leader and how to spin and touch a cone on command. When he came back home people could not believe what they were seeing. I no longer had to hide my dog in my bedroom whenever I had visitors in an attempt to shield them from my dog's anxiety. As long as the visitors knew the ground rules to avoid arousing my dog too much, we had a perfect interaction, something that would have been impossible before. Furthermore, the training did not end there. Melanie provided extensive documentation on what I could do to reinforce and continue his training, which was very useful for me as I did not know how to avoid undoing all of Melanie's fantastic work. Overall, I highly recommend Melanie to any person who wants to have their dog properly trained, especially is that dog needs special attention. Melanie is a professional of the highest level of loves her job and is dedicated to the welfare of the dogs she trains. In the 8 years I've had my dog, and the countless trainers that have tried to help him, I had never met anyone like her. She has my full trust when it comes to my dog.
