During my most recent visit, I had the opportunity to spend two and a half days completely immersed in her assisted living experience, and I came away more than impressed. The staff at Artis Senior Living of Lakeview is truly amazing. They make sure my aunt's days are filled with meaningful activities, structure, and engagement, but what stood out to me most is how intentionally they help bring residents together. They create opportunities for connection and then step back, allowing residents to interact naturally with one another. That approach helps build a strong and genuine sense of community. The staff understands how important companionship and social connection are in daily life. Rather than simply keeping residents busy, they foster an environment where relationships can grow and where residents feel included, supported, and valued. Throughout my visit, I was also made to feel very welcome and included in the socializing, which gave me an even better sense of the daily life my aunt experiences there. The atmosphere felt warm, respectful, and reassuring, both for residents and for family members. Knowing that my aunt is in a place where she is cared for, included, and encouraged to participate in a vibrant community means a great deal to me. My parents were also in an assisted living and aging-in-place facility that was considered one of the best in Cincinnati, but Artis Senior Living of Lakeview exceeded that experience in a very meaningful way. What sets Artis apart is the way it creates genuine friendships and a true sense of family within the building. It also bears mentioning that my cousins, along with her nieces, and nephews are very involved and visit regularly, which helps make my aunt's life very full. Nothing can substitute for family involvement and interaction, but Artis does something special by creating a family-like community around its residents. I have read some of the negative reviews, and while I am sorry some families may have had difficult experiences, they do not reflect what I have personally seen. Based on my own visits, I have found the staff to be caring, the residents engaged, and the community warm, active, and supportive. I would highly recommend Artis Senior Living of Lakeview to anyone making the difficult decision of choosing a senior living facility for a loved one. The residents are ignored or treated as if their requests are insignificant and they're not entitled to be treated with respect. Calls to administration, nurse, or other support staff are ignored and not returned. On the day we moved him out, we discovered his room had been looted by his roommate and his medication thrown away. We were promised that it would be replaced but that never happened. We were also told that his rent for the month that he moved would be prorated and he would receive a refund for the portion of the month he wasn't there. That also didn't happen. I had to pu drain cleaner down when it kept stopping up Freezer trays need to be repaired Bathtub water came out black, but didn't matter as it had no plug to take a bath One window has terrible condensation a dimmer switch does not work, I don't even know what most of the switches do I was promised touch up paint that has never come Offered to facilitate a computer group but the program director never responded to any of my requests - so I assume no interest, despite the fact the residents were thrilled I have chosen to upgrade the closet and bathroom doors. Maintenance has take the old closet doors. Given the lack of cooperation, I will be keeping the old bathroom doors and return them when I leave. I will also replace the upgraded faucet with your plastic model. I was going to leave all the upgrades, but not after experiencing such treatment. The hot water takes an extreme time to heat up And, to this date have never been given orientation I have been told that the faucet, switch, and anything else is at my expense. She was kicking her right leg and arm was out of control and left arm was locked along with counting out loud. I asked what the mat on the floor was for I ask was it for therapy the Doctor said no it was there in case she fail out the bed. They had her in a regular bed lowered to the floor instead of bed with railing to secure her. Food was brought in and sat at the side of her bed I just happen to be visiting I asked who was going to feed her the staff said I can. So if I wasn't there how was she eating. My mom told me she was cold I asked a staff at the desk for cover for her because there no cover on her bed the whole vist said would order it for her a hour passed still no cover came. The unprofessional social worker waited to the last minute to resubmit paper work to continue insurance but said he know it was going to get denied. I asked him what is the insurance paying for he couldn't even tell me he mad up a lie about having therapy done to her left hand when no therapy was being done at all. I was told by him that if still denied I was going to have to take my mom home at that time., I asked him how, he said they could put her in my back seat of my car or I would have to pay financial dept for ambulance service because insurance doesn't provide transportation to home. I ask him in the back of my car in her condition really? He said oh I forgot I asked him about home equipment there was no medical bed for her, he said he got to put the request in for home service but it can be awhile before I get that unless I try ti get home service myself which I tired but i was told I need a Dr request to do that...Wow the Social Worker was useless. So I visit the financial dept said they have ambulance company that does it for $300 and if she is still there after denial they would bill her personally by taking her check.This was a scam to get money from me. I then was told that was the only way.I told them no. Then the financial dept said he would bill me separate but not send to address on bill send it directly to him. My mom finally was released with no Home Medical Assistance from this facility..I had to get the Medical bed myself, the insurance did provide home transportation after all and I had to get my own home Dr for her...Please Stay away from this unprofessional place if you want your love ones to survive.
