DO NOT USE! Warning: scam artists, unreliable, unprofessional. Read below for details on my experience: I originally hired Jay and Dan to fix a laundry line that was leaking. After coming to my location, ray sold me on this story of how they are home builders but decided to go into smaller projects...first red flag (hottest housing market ever and as a home builder, why is he not building homes?) Anyway, after being told 500, it ended up being 850 and I had to paint the wall myself after they left. They say they charge 15% on whatever supplies they buy, but they won't show you receipts and after you do they tell you they rounded up to the nearest 10 dollar mark. But this isn't even what my complaint is about! So Jay told me they can do windows, they have an amazing supplier will get it to me in 4-6 weeks and it will be less then 8500$. I pay the deposit (NEVER PAY THE DEPOSIT BEFORE THEY DO WORK, big mistake on my part) This is where there unreliability and unprofessionalism come in: 2 weeks later they come by to do measurements, 2 weeks after that they claim that they sent the measurements to the supplier and that they were waiting on the supplier to get a quote (I was emailing jay every 2 days at this point, it had been a month and no windows had been ordered. 2 weeks after being told over and over that we are waiting for the supplier. Guess what I find out, they had made a mistake and actually hadn't sent over any measurements...in almost 2 months of having my money, all while telling me that they had sent it over. Attached are imagines. So I confront jay and say you have made a mistake....THEY DONT TAKE ANY OWNERSHIP. They put all the blame on everyone else and start saying they are going to the higher ups on the manufacturer side.... End of story, 2 months after a deposit, no windows were ordered, they told me it would be twice as expensive take another 8-10 weeks and tried to sell me in bullshit solutions after they had royally messed up...all while taking 0 responsibility. Scam- Tried to tell me that the door i needed was a $4,000 dollar repair. That they weren't available at all. Being business owner myself and have managed a contracting company in California I found it very suspicious when they asked for the full payment up front- Said they could come to the house and fix it for $1,600 (Normal practice is %10 to $1000 upfront) Deposit I found the pre-hung fire door (at Home Depot) for in-between the garage and home for $280 got it verified and installed. I'm glad I only went with the $100 repair for my pool fence project instead of the more costly one as I feel so ripped off after this experience. Read in for the story. At the least it's worth a laugh. I feel reviews like this are important so that other potential customers will know what to actually expect. I read reviews of companies before contacting them and all the 5 star reviews here now seem unwarranted to me. You never know if other reviews are just friends of the company. Especially when they leave 5 stars and don't write very much. I don't relish writing reviews like this, but after the company's response I feel this is very fair. I have a fence that goes around my pool. The two posts that the swinging door are attached to have rusted at the bases and collapsed a couple inches into the ground. The bottom of the door was stuck against the flagstone patio and would no longer open and close. I wound up just uninstalling the door to avoid damaging the flagstone. The door has a return spring with two bolts on it. The door also has a couple downward hooks on it that connect to rings on the fence post and this is how the door swings to open and close. I don't know anything about fence repair. I imagined someone would use the same tubular metal post and just dig out the ground a bit and weld in a couple inches of new material. Jay came out and had the idea of making a couple custom metal blocks which would sit on the ground and hold up the posts. That sounded like a reasonable plan to me. It took 30 days for the company to return to repair the fence. I was at work but my wife was available when they arrived and it was a good thing she was. I'm now going to paste in the email my wife wrote me about the experience. Begin email ---- Ryan came over first.  While he was here, his manager called and said someone else was coming over with blocks for the post that they had ordered.  He inspected the fence and I helped him hang the gate by guiding the attachments into the correct slots.  He said if it were up to him he would just drill the holes on the post a little higher to make the fix.  We took the gate off the fence and he left. After that another older guy came over with some blocks.  He looked confused about what to do with the blocks. He said that drilling holes higher in the gate post wouldn't work because there are welded parts, too.  Those welded parts would need to be re-welded if we do that, and the company does not have a welder. The older guy talked with his manager on the phone for a little bit.  While he was on the phone I lifted up on part of the fence. I found that it was loose and had probably broken off from its concrete mooring after the ground settled a bit.  I am positive this was the source of the problem that caused the gate to rub against the flagstone.  I shoved a few rocks down into the post hole and it was enough to lift the post a lot higher.  The older guy totally approved of my solution.  He did not think the blocks would have solved the problem the way that the rocks did. I helped the older guy re-hang the gate.  It looked like neither guy would have been able to do that on their own because it was considerable effort to line up the bottom attachment and the top one into the slots at the same time.  I am glad I was there to help twice.  After hanging the fence, he screwed everything into place. We tested opening the gate to make sure it is not in danger of hitting the flagstone.  He put all his weight onto the fence to make sure it would not sink down further.  I suggested that if the problem happened again, I can simply lift up on the post and add in a few more rocks to bolster it up again. These blocks have no edges or anything for the post to slide onto or latch into.   They are much wider than the post legs.  They would have been a pain to dig down and install under the fence posts.  Also, they would not fix the problem because they can not stop the ground from settling further, and the post legs would just sink down again. Hun, it feels like I was the one who fixed our fence!  Lol! End email--- So there was no plan that was communicated from the initial idea to fix the posts to the people that actually came to install these metal blocks. My wife came up with the idea of just using rocks in the old fence post holes to prop up the sagging posts. My wife then assisted with holding the door up (two separate times) while it was reattached to the fence posts. I complained about this and they refunded me $22. I think it should have been a $50 refund if not more. I have no way of knowing what I was charged for those custom metal blocks which were never used and not left with me or if I was refunded fully for them. I essentially spent $78 for my wife to think up a solution on the day of the work because the company did not have an executable plan for repair and to then assist the repairman with the reinstallation of the door twice. read more

Okie dokey....Um.... no. lol Update: "This person" could not get in two words. Rep was too busy talking. His comment ...really unprofessional. Update: the best part of this company's response is that I stood in my yard today and said to his employee, "we're so ready to throw money at this project to get it done. I bet you deal with folks who want all the work done for nothing, right?" and his employee agreed. My review doesn't trash you -- it simply highlights that unless someone is willing to fly blind into demo projects, you may not be a good fit for them. Requested a free estimate. Jay responded quickly to my message and said that he can do an on-site estimate any morning this week. I was impressed and asked for tomorrow morning. His response was that tomorrow morning wasn't available. "Okay. Then why say any morning is available?" So we set the appointment 2 days out for the free estimate. 2 days later Jay showed up right on time. I showed him Where the repairs I needed are and he looked at them. He was very loud, like obnoxious loud. Kept talking in circles and wanting to share stories. He said that the job could take 3-4 hours or less or more. He didn't explain what work would be needed or materials. I started asking questions to get a better idea of the scope of work. He couldn't explain what would be done then said it could be just a couple hours or more for labor. They charge $60/hour for labor then mark up materials 15%. But again, Jay failed to explain how the work would be done, materials needed, or a better estimate on the time. After asking him several questions to help get an idea on the cost, Jay got frustrated and said that I am not listening. He couldn't even provide me a cost range on the low end or high end for the work. What's the point of asking for a free estimate if you can't provide one? I thanked Jay for his time and walked him to the door. On the way he said "I gave it a good try." No Jay, you didn't. read more

I dodged a bullet not having Jay step one foot on the job site. He couldn't give me a solid answer on repairing a leaking balcony. Which wasn't entirely unexpected at the time... I had expected to get a time and materials contract given his response of saying it may cost less, it may cost more. It was unknown until he pulled up some tiles to see what the extent of the problem was... Instead I received a PayPal invoice with an image of a normal construction contract. No ability to sign it... And he didn't want me to. In case the project was larger than expected, he would've been bound to fix it at that price. He said he wouldn't put me on the schedule until 50% was paid. Which according to the image of the "contract" came with a $250 cancellation charge and a binding agreement. I ended up cancelling because I sold the property. I spoke with Jay by phone and via email several times over a couple of months. Each time he acted like he had no idea who I was or why I was calling. He said on several occasions he was going to refund the payment I made... But it never happened. I finally got more direct and said I would file a PayPal claim if he didn't refund what he said he was going to. He made up a bunch of nonsense excuses about other expenses he had already incurred... Despite no work being done and no product being ordered. He finally agreed he was going to have his accountant mail me a check... Which made no sense since I paid via PayPal. The only logical reason was to push the time limit to PayPals dispute limit. I put in a complaint to PayPal and said I would escalate to a claim only if the check was not received in a timely matter. He immediately said he was going to have his lawyer contact me and file a mechanics lien... Again, no work was done... Nothing was ordered. No grounds for a mechanics lien. He was just trying to use scare tactics. Look deeper into this guy, he has changed his name several times over the recent past. Flipz, Phx Fixers, and who knows what else! All of this was with no work being done. I can only imagine what kind of crap he would've pulled if I let him on the job site one minute. read more

I had a smoke detector that needed changing and contacted the company for a quote estimate. Jay came in to take a look the very next morning (it was a Sunday) and shared some very helpful insights and suggestions of possible options. He was super honest about how I did know need to use his company's services and can easily switch my detectors on my own (including instructions on how to) unless I want them to anyway. I am grateful that he did not sell me services that I did not need. He also helped me to disable my chirping detector (I can finally get my sleep back) during his free quote visit.
