We scheduled a tour in the afternoon and granted it was in the winter it was a bit cold so glad we dressed warm. The space is beautiful and very organized with their tours. Our tour was guided by Robyn and she was absolutely wonderful! Warm, engaging and entertaining. You can really tell how much each individual cares for the work they do here with such passion and the difference they make in the community and for these animals. During the tour Robyn shared the educational facts, stories and futures of the lives of each animal. They had everything from the most amazing packs of wolves, to mountain lions, javelinas, foxes, birds, deer and bobcats. The wolves may have been my favorite and how incredible to be that close to them. The 2 hours of the tour flew by because it was so engaging. I could have spent all day at this amazing place. They had a wonderful little gift shop too where all the proceeds go to supporting the animals. I'd love to come back sometime for a Twilight tour.

During the tour with Michelle we learned about the wildlife we live with, the stories of how these animals got to SWCC, and how the ones that aren't able to survive on their own are permanently living here, a sanctuary for the rest of their lives. The owner started building the center some 30 years ago, to help animals in need; I loved the stories of how some actually lived in her home when there were more animals than enclosures for them. This kind of love, and respect, for wildlife is what fuels all the volunteers too, and the animals there, the bears, bobcats, large prey birds, packs of wolves and coyotes.... all are calm and cared for, lounging around or coming up to look at us visitors. The mark of a very well run and happy environment for both wildlife and humans. The tour took us around most of the enclosures except the rehabilitation area which is off-limits to the public. Michelle was an excellent tour guide/docent which made the two hour walk seem much shorter :) The drive is partly on uneven dirt roads but cars can manage it easily. Bring water,especially if you're not used to AZ heat (but they have cold water if you forget) and do wear closed toe shoes for the non-paved walk, as it's uneven in places and dusty. We throughly enjoyed our visit, as did the others in our group, and we lucked out going on a day that wasn't horribly hot. The gift shop has some tchotchkes for the holidays, cards and clothing and other gifts. The South West Conservation Center is well worth the visit, the volunteers and staff were great, making it all a leisurely and interesting evening twilight tour. The coyotes and wolves howling "good night" was fantastic! I am now a member of the board, have adopted 2 dogs through them, raise money for them, and will do anything for this rescue. It's crazy to me that some people would give a 1 star review because their application got denied! We receive tons of applications and sometimes you just aren't the right fit. It happened to me and i didn't cry about it and try to ruin the reputation of the rescue. Shelly has done more for the breed that anyone else in the state of Arizona and maybe even in the entire United States. She has devoted her life to helping these dogs and you attack her and the rescue because you got denied. I have been going to our weekly pack walks for the past 5 years and have never seen any of the people who leave bad reviews show up once. This may be the most difficult review I've ever had to write, but the quality of the service…read moreprovided by All About Restful Pets on the hardest day of my life warrants powering through and sharing my experience in the chance it helps someone make the decision to choose AARP. Our sweetest 13 year old mix, Nemmie, took a sharp turn for the worse after a brief battle with splenic cancer. I reached out to AARP on a Friday in hopes of scheduling them over the weekend. I was able to schedule online, and Shelley reached out the following morning to confirm the appointment and provide resources and instructions. Unfortunately, Nemmie's condition rapidly declined and it was clear that she would not make it to the original appointment. I reached out the Shelley, who was able to reschedule our appointment to that same day to make sure our sweet girl could be put to rest with dignity and little to no suffering. Dr. Falcone was the vet assigned to us. She called me roughly 30 minutes prior to the appointment time, letting me know that she was in the area and could arrive before the 12pm appointment. However, she also let us know that it was completely okay if we wanted her to wait until the original appointment time so we could spend an extra few minutes with our girl. She arrived promptly at the appointment time, and was nothing short of an angel for our girl (and for us) throughout the entire experience. I can imagine that having her job would not be an easy one. However, she handled our situation with such grace, empathy, and kindness. Before the procedure started, she took the time to walk us through each step of the process. She also made sure to be as gentle as possible, while getting Nemmie as comfortable as possible before everything started. We also have another dog in the house, who was very curious about what was going on. Dr. Falcone was so sweet to him as well, and let him sniff her, give licks, and be all up in her business prior to the procedure starting. She also did not rush us at any point in the slightest, and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our sweet girl. Once the procedure had finished and Nemmie was no longer with us, again, Dr. Falcone let us have as much time as wanted to say our final goodbyes. She also allowed me the privilege of lifting my girl onto the stretcher, covering her with a blanket, and helping carry her out of our house and to Dr. Falcone's car for transportation to the crematorium. One small little touch that I'll forever remember. She was also very clear that there are two options for having your dog's ashes returned to you: either having them shipped to the vet, or shipped directly to your home. AARP's services, quality of care, and empathy for their clients & their pets are truly second to none. The opportunity to have been able to put our girl to rest in the comfort of her lifelong home while surrounded by love and comfort, is truly something that you can't put a price on. When your inevitable duty as a pet parent to see your pet off to the Rainbow Bridge comes, I can't recommend using All About Restful Pets enough. They truly are the best at what they do, and make the worst day of your life just a little bit better.

He was 3 years old and completely untrained when we adopted him. We got the basics done through PetCo but we still had some troublesome behaviors we were having trouble addressing. We did 4 sessions with Brenda and the change has been remarkable. She came to our house, which helps train him in a comfortable environment and she adapts her training to the dog. A big part of training is also for us to learn how best to reinforce the commands; Brenda left us with homework for the week to practice. Woody still has some stuff to learn but we have a strong foundation to continue his training journey and a lot more tools in our toolbox. Highly recommend Brenda!
