I can't say enough about her!! It sets a tone and gives a person a feeling of confidence. We met with people at intake, the PA, nursing staff at set up and in recovery - the doctor who did the surgery as well as the anesthesiologist - and everyone was pleasant and helpful. It is nice to feel that people care and that was my experience. I am a social worker in private practice and I take care of my patients like they were my family and I felt the same way with the care at the outpatient ambulatory care practice of NJMC.

My experience at Jersey City Medical Center (part of RWJBarnabas Health) raises serious concerns…read moreabout patient treatment and billing practices. I presented to the ER on July 21-22, 2025 with a stable neck lesion. After labs and imaging, I repeatedly asked to be discharged. Instead, I was told I had to stay overnight because ENT surgery was supposedly planned for the next morning. When I questioned this multiple times, I was told I could not leave and that "police officer at the door won't let me out". Despite being kept overnight, I received no active care. From roughly 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, I was left unattended in an ER bay -- no bed, no blanket, no food or water, and no documented monitoring. The next morning, the ENT stated surgery would be scheduled over a month later, confirming there was no emergency and no medical reason for the overnight "observation." Nevertheless, JCMC billed high-acuity ER and hospital observation charges for this stay. Later, an ENT follow-up visit billed a diagnostic nasal endoscopy that was never performed; that charge was removed only after I challenged the documentation in writing. I submitted detailed complaints to JCMC Patient Advocacy and Billing in August 2025, including a code-by-code dispute. In September, JCMC responded with a generic letter stating that all services were appropriate and closed the case without addressing the lack of care or contradictory medical evidence. Since then, leadership has stated they are "reviewing" disputed CPT codes for weeks, while billing timelines continue to run. Subsequent MRI imaging and independent ENT opinions confirmed there was no abscess or emergent condition. Because of how this matter has been handled, my case is now under review by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners, New Jersey Consumer Affairs, and the New Jersey Department of Health, and will be escalated further, including to the New Jersey Attorney General and the courts if necessary, to ensure accountability and restore fairness. Patients deserve transparency, informed consent, and appropriate care -- not coercion, unsupported billing, and prolonged delays. I strongly encourage patients to choose other medical facilities than JCMC, carefully review observation status, documentation, and charges, and to advocate for themselves.

This is NOT a cookie-cutter PT shop. They're specialists, and it shows the minute you walk in. After losing over 40 lbs and a lot of muscle from cancer treatments, I needed real help rebuilding my strength and quality of life. Kacey (my occupational therapist) and Noelle and Will (my physical therapists) put together an actual plan tailored to my condition--not just generic exercises. The personal attention, knowledge, and genuine care they give is rare. I'm stronger, moving better, and getting my life back because of this team. If you need more than basic PT, if you want people who truly understand medical-related recovery, this is the place. Highly recommend.

The facility is always clean and I love that I actually see them cleaning the equipment as it's being used! I would recommend this place to all in the area in need of PT.

There were many 1.5-2 hr gaps between finger sticks and insulin administration which placed my dad at risk for complications related to hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia. Also, dad developed stage 2 pressure ulcers/bed sores under incompetent nursing staff care on the 14th floor. Dad didn't get changed for over 6 hours or within a reasonable time after a bowel movement. Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) kicked my mother out of the room during diaper changes, stating "patient privacy" but my dad was never asked if his wife could stay at bedside. All these issues were addressed with Shova Panta, RN Manager but nothing was done and issues were overlooked. Shova lacks good clinical judgment, leadership and competent nursing skills. Dr. Shahed Abbasi, provider on the 14th floor is the Grim Reaper. My father had chills throughout the night with numbness and tingling on his lips and tongue, hand tremors, slurred speech, audible crackles and generalized edema from head to toe. All these symptoms are abnormal for him. I asked Dr. Abbasi to call 911 but she refused stating she didn't believe it was a true medical emergency. Dr. Abbasi said his vital signs (temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration rate) were normal. I stated he was symptomatic. I called 911 and the operator dispatched 4 paramedics/EMT to Riverside Premier due to acuity of situation. My dad ended up in the ER trauma room with septic shock which was life threatening and was transferred to ICU. Dr. Shahed Abbasi, Shova Panta, RN Manager and nursing staff were negligent, incompetent and provided poor quality care that increased my dad's mortality rate. The only good thing about the 14th floor is PT/OT. Beware of the doctor and nursing staff. They're the ones who provide around the clock care at bedside.

He was absolutely right, I have worked with two of the therapists so far and both of them are changing my life for the better. Humberto Colmenares interviewed me the first day I came in. His interview was in depth which made me feel extremely comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and I know he has set me up to succeed with healing my neck, arm and back issues. I keep telling him he has magic hands. He is very strong and has amazing range to massage the pain away. Everything he has me doing is helping me and I am getting into the swing of things quickly. He is absolutely a wonderful human being! He is always smiling and gets you excited to do therapy! I have also worked with Maria Sanchez (Mari) who is also very knowledgeable. She has been helping me to understand the right way to get up without hurting my neck and back. She has showed me the proper ways to lift, bend, stretch etc all which are assisting me in my daily routines. It is amazing how many things I had been doing which would not be helpful towards my goals of healing and getting stronger. Neither of them have ever made me feel anything other than hopeful that it's all going to be better. It's been a long road of pain for me this past year but now I feel like I have people who want to help me feel better, stronger and capable of healing! The atmosphere here is enjoyable, kind and may I say filled with a lot of laughter which is refreshing to see. The ladies in front are the most welcoming too! This is a small but mighty team of "healers" They all contribute a wonderful vibe to all the clients that walk into their world. The Weehawken location is perfect for me and I can see the mark they are leaving with many of the clients that come here. In one word simply MARVELOUS...
