Gives homework to help with personality assessments. Only 2 visits so far. My husband (who was skeptical before meeting her) told me he likes Kate. I was so happy to hear that! No recognition of their mistake and accusations as well as no apology given for the stress and frustration they caused (Remember, this is a therapist's office). It's obvious if I did not post this review I would not have received a refund from them. Due to the lack of accountability, until there is a major shift in their office management and training of receptionists, I can't, rightfully so, recommend this business as I fear this will happen to future patients seeking therapy. I feel bad for the therapists as they're great. SHADY, GASLIGHTING BUSINESS PRACTICES FROM 100 dollarsFRONT STAFF THAT WILL COST YOU. THEY ARE ONLY HERE TO SWIPE YOUR CARD. GO ELSEWHERE! Story time. They will run your card without informing you of unjustified, unauthorized $100 fees. They charged me $100 dollars on 12/12 (Apparently if you cancel a 2nd time within 24 hours it's $100 dollars. First time is $50) for a session on 12/07 that I canceled the night before via voice mail. In their eyes, this would be my 3rd cancellation within 24 hours. However, I left a message on 12/06 to cancel my 12/07 session, and I called on the 7th to confirm with their front desk, Jenna, making sure she heard my message and to reschedule a new visit the following week for 12/12.. Not once was there any mention of a $100 late fee when speaking with Jenna. Why wasn't there a mention of it? Why was I not charged a fee on the 7th after I rescheduled? Because I canceled the day before. Jenna (she's wonderful) did reduce my 2nd late fee to $50 which I do appreciate as I was sick that day. This third one is the one they are lying about. The following week came, 12/12, and a front desk rep, who is new, Asia, ran my card in the morning (8 hours before my session that day) for $100, not telling me beforehand, and not telling me when I called in 4 hours later to stop future sessions for a month. I was going to cancel yesterday and all future sessions and pay a $50 fee but I was told it would cost $100 because I had other 24-hour cancellations. 12/12 WAS THE FIRST TIME LEARNING ABOUT $100 Fees! I told Asia to keep my session for the day as I didn't want to pay $100 and wasn't aware of that policy. So if I didn't know then, how would I agree to a $100 fee a week ago? Mind you she still did not notify me of her unauthorized charge at this point. I only learned a few hours later after I checked my bank statement. So after discovering the charge on my bank account, I called and spoke with Asia, who told me that they charged it because of my cancelation on the 7th. To which I told Asia that I canceled via voicemail the previous day on the 6th and why would she just randomly charge my card. She said she was new, she could not refund me, and that I would have to use it as credits and to speak with the office manager about it to get a refund. After attempting to call the office manager on the phone, she said she would call me back. No call back. But I did receive an email. In the email, she flat-out lied. She was telling me that I verbally authorized a $100 fee on the 7th. 1) how would I agree if I canceled via a message the day before during after-office hours 2) when I called that day to reschedule why was I not charged if that was the case? I would NEVER agree to spend $100 for a fee that I can avoid, I would instead pay the $31 that I normally pay and make arrangements to go to my session if that were the case, which is exactly what I did on 12/12 after learning about the possibility of this fee. They said it's against their "policy" to refund. First off, you're not refunding. You're voiding a transaction while it's processing. Secondly, it's not your money to determine what to do with it as you CHARGED A CARD WITHOUT AGREEMENT/AUTHORIZATION AND NOTIFICATION. As others said in their reviews, they are only here to swipe your card. Honestly, what kind of practice would charge a ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR late fee for your 2nd time? Imagine going to a therapist's office and they straight up gaslight you, lie to you, charge your card without ANY authorization, creating stressful situations all because they hired someone new who made a mistake and they want to save face. Rebecca Parkey should immediately fire Asia for making fraudulent charges, and Rechell for straight-up lying and gaslighting patients. They lied to me, and I'm sure they will lie again in their comment here to save face since you're unable to respond to comments on reviews. Look elsewhere!

When I asked about the possibility of untreated/undiagnosed ADHD making my anxiety and depression worse, he agreed it could be a possibility but ultimately decided not to look into ADHD. He put me on some meds that unfortunately did not work for me and at the end of December I decided to go off of them and take a little break. Well, I ended up going to ADHD center of Las Vegas where I ultimately got diagnosed with ADHD. Not only that, but in my report it mentions that my anxiety and depression is most likely related to the fact that I had undiagnosed ADHD. Huh. Well, now that I had that diagnosis I called to see if we could now treat this. Doug (who is great) told me that Jordan wasn't looking to treat anybody with ADHD at the moment but would ask since I was already established. He called back and asked if I could send over the diagnosis report and they would get back to me. This felt super weird but I agreed. Then I got the call that they wouldn't be taking me back. I understand not wanting to treat ADHD, but asking for my diagnosis then ultimately telling me no felt weird personal and intentional. Very unfortunate but I felt the need to write this review to inform others of my experience.

I view this "Service/Counseling" as a scam and a money grab. Yes, this is under a different name because I do not want to be retaliated against by the Staff. Like others have stated, "It's their way or you get kicked out." If you decide to seek counseling here, I will caution you not to waste your money. You will be treated fine as long as you agree with their lines of thinking. They provide no form of Teaching or Counseling. No workbook or anything to do as homework. You sit in a small room with 10 to 12 others and listen as others talk about their situation and/or their diagram. Don't worry if you do not speak or understand English. You can sit in the group and play on your phone; no participation is required. As long as you go along with the counselor's ideas, thoughts, and opinions, you will be fine. Do not express any of your emotions, as you will be ostracized from the group with no questions asked and no one inquiring why you were upset. Be prepared to be called a liar if you do not bow down to what they think you should have experienced in your life. You will be told that there is something you are hiding, covering up, or do not want the group to know. I do not understand how a counselor knows more about your childhood than you, yet they call you a liar when you are describing how you grew up. It's amazing how much power one person can have over your life and destroy it through a personality conflict with them. Warning: Do not seek any services at Nueva Vida Mental Health. They are not there to assist you in any way; they are merely lining their pockets and wasting your time, while also causing harm to you and your family if you do not bow down to them and agree with everything they say. They create a hostile environment for you to be a part of. How can you pretend to be a professional when you have two individuals, one who only speaks Mandarin and the other, with very broken English, to sit in a group setting while everyone shares, comments, and provides all instructions, etc., coming from the counselor or group members is in English. Knowing that these individuals do not understand anything you are saying violates a code of ethics? PLEASE take this WARNING to heart! DO NOT GO TO Nueva Vida Mental Health in Las Vegas!!!!

When I asked a single follow-up question to ensure the new appointment would be reliable, she became hostile claiming she 'couldn't keep going back and forth' despite the call lasting only 10minutes. She also mentioned she was the 'only one working,' admitting the practice lacks backup support. Most Concerning was her condescending tone; she made me feel as though I was having a 'mental episode' for reacting normally to her oversharing and rudeness, effectively gaslighting me into feeling like the unstable one. She then sent an email acting as if she were giving a generous 'choice' to continue, ignoring that her own behavior created the unsafe environment. This combination of inappropriate oversharing, impatience, structural instability, and condescension is unacceptable for a mental health practice. I do not recommend this place to anyone seeking reliable, boundaried, and respectful care. Experiences like this are exactly why so many people are afraid to seek help. When a mental health practice makes a prospective client feel 'crazy' for asking basic questions, it reinforces the dangerous stigma that keeps people away. Research shows that over 70% of people with mental illnesses never receive treatment due to stigma, and 42% of patients hesitate to share concerns with providers specifically due to fear of being judged. Furthermore, studies indicate that perceived stigma from healthcare professionals is directly linked to more severe illness, particularly in conditions like eating disorders where only 30% seek help. Therapy should be the one place where you don't have to manage the staff's emotions or defend your right to clarity. No one should be gaslit into silence when trying to find care.

TL:DR Avoid this place like the plague, anyone who recommends it isnt doing their job or isnt doing…read morethe homework on what these practices are doing to patients in need. I can see why the reviews for this place are terrible. I had my insurance company make a 1st appointment with Matt Stoll of Heads Up because Im dealing with serious issues related to a chronic illness and some other things I need help with. The day before my appointment I was taken to a hospital by ambulance and admitted. Even in my extremely ill state I made sure to have my wife call and cancel the appointment to not just blow it off and make sure I was before the 24 hour courtesy window. I also had her ask for another appointment as this was very important to me and all of a sudden they only have appointments a month plus out. I believe this was insensitive staff being punitive and punishing me for cancelling. They were explained this is urgent and didnt give a sh*t. As a therapist office they must have an appointment opening for what will be my next weekly appointment or are they are only seeing patients monthly (highly unlikely) so this was VERY clearly spiteful. I can say this, if you are recommended to this place refuse it, run the other way and look for somewhere that actually cares about people and has staff with some sensitivity and decency. All I will say is I hope everyone or their loved ones here that were responsible for this is in need some day and are treated exactly the same way. What goes around comes around and I hope karma gets you all.
