Purchased hearing aids here about two years ago. All-inclusive package for three years including replacement if needed and visits to adjust hearing aids. Now, all terms changed except the warranty. While still covered by the warranty, any visit to the office will be charged as an office visit, even if to address produce issues covered by warranty. $5,000 for hearing aids and now I'll be nickeled and dimed any time there is an issue? No thanks. I'll just buy OTC and manage on my own, thank you. read more

This review is long overdue. I have been looking for a reliable honest caring thorough audiologist for nearly a decade. My mom started her care in upstate NY from a stellar committed audiologist so the bar was high when finding her replacement. We spent a few years shifting from one to another office of pushy salespersons, cookie cutter service and shameless money grabbers. Then we found Suzanne Jackson at the Hearing and Balance Lab. She is patient, knowledgeable, thorough and personable. They have since undergone a few name changes and company ownerships ( most recently HearUSA, but the staff remains the same wonderful helpful conscientious staff. The insurance was always handled for us efficiently, honestly and professionally ( this is apparently , in my experience,, an epidemic problem in this field ) This year, with new ownership, I learned that they no longer take our insurance and we are needing to find a new reliable audiologist. This has been a true hardship. The struggle is real folks. Since leaving this office, We are back in the throws of money grabbing insurance frauds with relatively little concern for personal health service. Luckily, we appreciated and knew what we had while here with Suzanne. If you are here, count your blessings, and stay put. Hearing aid sales is off the charts sleazy business in the wrong hands. These folks are trustworthy and great at what they do. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Michele Gotsis and saw her today for my hearing loss, ear exam, and hearing aid adjustment. After having been to several other clinics in the Everett area, I can honestly say, that Dr. Gotsis was far more thorough, knowledgeable and compassionate than the other providers. She is always on time, explains all issue thoroughly and completely and goes well above what is required of her. Dr. Gotsis is very caring which is missing with many providers these days. My husband was referred to this practice by his audiologist because he has been experiencing vertigo. He called for an appointment and first thing they asked was his insurance information. He told them that he was on Medicare, and also had private insurance through both his and my former employers. He didn't mention that he could also pay for the visit if necessary. He was told that he could not make an appointment unless he had a formal referral, because Medicare won't pay without it. It appears that they must know where their money is coming from before they will even schedule. read more

It has been a 2 year follow up for me and they are great. Everyone loves to work in this office, and they takes great pride in customer service. The Clinical Audiologist is a very good listener on all my concerns, good and bad. She gets my hearing aid up and running perfectly each time. They have a perfect location are always on time no waiting. Ever now and then they make fresh home made cookies. The only bad thing I can say is, the girls in the office are not allowed to eat any of the cookies. read more

I was referred to this place by my girlfriends mother. I was told there is a nice man Dr there. I have had trouble hearing my entire life and was told it could be genetic. (weird) So I thought I would give this place a try. Location in Mill Creek is nice. Parking easy and free. Yay! Pretty simple to find. I did not make an appointment as I just wanted to pop in yesterday around 3:30 p.m. and see if I could ask for some information on the doctors in the clinic and what they specialize in. When I walked thru the doors, no one was really there. I saw a person walking away down the hallway and then there was this lady at the front desk. I suppose I was taken back by what she was doing and her age. I shouldn't judge but I would have expected this behavior from maybe a younger person. This lady was older, like in her late 60's, really short hair and glasses. Just sitting there on her cell phone texting away. She did not even look up at me and I just got the impression she didn't care. At that point I didn't want to know more. I just left. I know technology is taking over. I also know at my work we can only be on our phones during break and lunch time. I know things come up but really, if you are sitting at the "front desk"; that is usually the place for "first impressions". I would have expected to see this with the younger generation, but not at her age. She looked cranky, too. I guess we may have to start lowering our expectations even when it comes to dr's offices. I am not saying don't give this place a change; just saying don't expect it to be very different. read more

I have been going here for several years and they have gone above and beyond to address my hearing loss and hearing aid needs. Dr. Kingham has been my audiologist and is very knowledgeable and professional and is also very pleasant and supportive to work with. If I have an immediate need, they have always gotten me right in. I have been a client of the Hearing & Balance for a number of years and have found the entire staff to be friendly, courteous and devoted to their chosen vocation. My hearing difficulties have been addressed, diagnosed and corrected. So now I am seen twice yearly for periodic checkups, making sure that my hearing capability is always at its maximum. Drs. Mallahan and Kingham and all support employees treat me as if I were a family member, so visits to the facility are always enjoyable, productive, on time and parking is never a problem. I have been very pleased with the service that I have received from the Hearing Center. I started out trying the Lyric hearing aids. After several weeks working with them trying to get a good fit, I determined that these hearing aids were not a good fit for me. They proceeded to work with me on other sets of hearing aids until I was satisfied with the pair that I finally got. They then worked to make sure that we had the sound just right. I have worn hearing aids before I started here and I was extremely satisfied with the service I received here. I would definitely recommend the Hearing Center to others. read more

My employer has provided/required annual hearing tests for years so I knew I had a hearing loss, but it wasn't until I began having trouble understanding conversations in the car and with the grandchildren that I finally looked for some help. I was referred to The Hearing and Balance lab by my doctor - a lucky break. To make a long story short I was extremely impressed with their through the examination/evaluation of my hearing loss. in addition to the basic audiometric test I had every year they used my response to various phrases/words spoken by women, men and children. I did very poorly. The believed I had a work related hearing loss and filed a claim for me with L&I. After about 6 months the claim was accepted. The initial fitting included program the hearing aid to amplify the high frequencies I was missing. It took time to become accustom the the sounds I've been missing for years, such as when my wife turned on the iron as I walked by her sewing room and I heard a series of beeps I never heard before. She said the iron always does that. The noise caused by plastic grocery bags was something different to me as well. I know my hearing will never be "normal" but my hearing aids certainly make everyday life easier. read more
