I came here for a second ACL tear and had two truly shocking experiences: 1. Front desk physically blocked my care. After completing all paperwork, having my ID scanned, and offering to self-pay and be billed later, the front desk supervisor literally got up and stopped the medical assistant from taking me back to see the doctor. This was not a billing issue; it was non-clinical staff inserting themselves between a patient and medically necessary care. 2. They sent me to the wrong place for my CT. The clinic told me they "don't refer anyone" and instructed me to schedule a CT at Rayus Radiology. Days later, another staff member called, apologized, and admitted there had already been a CT order sitting in my chart for Swedish Medical Center. Their own team had to fix the mess. This is not just minor rudeness. It is disorganized, unsafe operations that delay care for serious injuries. If you experience anything similar here, do not stay silent. Patients in Washington can file formal complaints. It is nearly impossible to through to the office for questions regarding post-surgical symptoms, so much so that I have had to go to my primary care provider when I experienced concerns with post-operative symptoms. The team will not return voice mails, and fails to offer clear guidance on post-operative protocols. I have been fortunate to have a strong care team through my primary care provider, sports medicine physician, and physical therapist, but I would be extremely reluctant to recommend this office. I have been fortunate only to have a few post-operative symptoms, but I would be extremely concerned for any patient having difficulty with their recovery to expect sufficient follow up care from this office. She said "he was the best I've ever been too." My mom is profoundly deaf without hearing aids and has been since her 50s. She has visited numerous hearing aids centers over the decades, last most recent being Costco. Accompanying her to her appointment, I saw first hand the respect and professionalism Zach has. He knew how to engage my mom without embarrassing her because she needed a little more support in the process. His evaluation of her current hearing level was outstanding. I've never experienced that with my mom's other providers. When it came to the 'selling' of the hearing aids themselves, there was no pressure, simply a description of each type of device, how it would benefit her, and even what he wouldn't recommend because the device would be more than she needs in her life. Although I was generally happy with my previous dentist, Dr. Lao and her staff are overall the most thorough, gentle, and personable I have been to. I have been to her office several times, so I can also affirm that work very efficiently and I am not sitting in the treatment chair for long periods of time. I was extremely impressed this morning when I went in to receive a build-up for a crown that was adjacent to one of my wisdom teeth, which had previously caused me frequent pain. After beginning work on the tooth that will be receiving the crown, Dr. Lao reviewed my dental X-rays with me and we discussed the state of the adjacent wisdom tooth. We decided on the spot that it could be removed at the same time. With just slightly more local anesthetic, Dr. Lao extracted my wisdom tooth on the spot. I have been wanting that removed for a long time and had no idea it could be done so effortlessly! That was several hours ago and I am now back at my office. I have since treated several of my own patients. My anesthetic has worn off and I miraculously have no pain and no swelling. Dr. Lao is truly amazing! I am very impressed!

I saw Dr. Downer as a second opinion about groin pain. I had already seen another orthopedic…read moreprovider and had a hip injection, which made things worse. I was already going to PT and not making much progress. An inguinal hernia had already been diagnosed, and once Dr. Downer heard this, he was not interested in evaluating me, but sending me on. He flat out told me I did not have a "hip problem." When I asked him if my pain symptoms went with an inguinal hernia, he said "I don't know, I am a surgeon." Specialists who fix hernias are also surgeons. Dr. Downer had me walk across the exam room as his only "exam." Last I knew, an exam involves touching a patient, which Dr. Downer needs to go back to medical school to learn. I had a recent hip MRI ordered by my PCP, and surprise, I do have a hip problem! Dr. Downer gets good reviews from hip replacements patients, which are big ticket surgeries. He can't be bothered with patients who don't need this procedure. Seem like a coincidence? I bet not.
