Cute little store with a bespoke selection of wines and cheeses. The service is very good, they recognize the brands they carry aren't commonly known so they are happy to help you select your wine. Do expect to spend a bit more per bottle as is common for stores that carry wines from smaller wineries and smaller batches vs large corporate wineries. The price keeps me from going back often but always wish I'd stop by more often when I finally do. read more

Pricing is egregious! Their markup must be 400%. I get they are a small boutique and they need to make money but it's just not affordable for normal budgets. I would highly recommend World Market which is 7 minutes away and has many of the same products for a fraction of the price. read more

Heights Grocer is an amazing place to find unique wines at all price points - the perfect place to stop for a gift or a unique bottle to bring to a party. My spouse and I joined their wine club in 2020, and we love trying the different themes and selections each month. We do the $75 for 3 bottles. Contactless pick-up has been a life-saver this year -- just call and they put the wine in your trunk! Plus, you get an additional discount on all other wine purchases when you're part of wine club... but you can usually purchase month-to-month if you're not ready to make the commitment. The owners curate their selection from wineries and producers all over the world, and their wine selections are very trendy and cutting edge. They have natural wines, as well as more classic style wines. Oh, and their shop has adorable, eclectic household/gift items - so it's fun to look around. We look forward to continuing our participation in Wine Club 2021! read more

Love this spot in the Heights! James showed me around, and I loved the mix of red and white wines, snacks, candles and the overall vibe and layout of the shop. Picked up some roasted sea salt almonds for the road and some Chili and Lime Chips for the road but will definitely have to come back to check out the rest of the drinks in the near future! I stop in from time to time when I am looking for something special, like that perfect wine with a hint of cayenne for a special dinner I made, or cheese or chocolate to make an evening a little nicer, but I need to stop in more often. This weekend I ran in for a new candle and to see what impulse buy might bring me happiness. I got a candle, GARDNER, smells great, got June's Joy goat cheese, Yum, and bought a beer I hadn't seen before NOLA Brewing's Tangerine Wheat. Loved it. Such a great shop. read more

My bf & I LOVE wine. We are more than willing to blow some cash on wine without a question. My bf got me a freaking 2nd growth Bordeaux for Valentine's Day. Granted, we were dressed a little down today (bf had a long sleeve beer t-shirt on & I was wearing leggings), but we were very friendly and inquisitive about their selection. The man working behind the counter was very dismissive and pretentious. It is important to add, they did have a very well curated selection, in an accessible price range, and nice smelling candles. We were REALLY hoping to love this little shop. If it wasn't for the poor customer service, we would absolutely go back. If you're looking for a well curated, helpful, and down to earth wine shop you're better off at Houston Wine Merchant or Vinology. read more

The wine selection is very curated with handwritten reviews of the bottles -- staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Just passed by this shop while visiting Houston with my friends. There is so much wine! I like wine but don't know much about it. All the brands were new to me. Went in to check out their selection of DS & Durga candles. They are the only shop in Houston that sells them! Met the friendly owner, browsed the selection of home scents, fancy chocolate bars, and wine, and walked out with a Holy Ficus candle and a few ideas for my Christmas list! Definitely planning on stopping again when I'm in the market for a bottle or two. read more
