This was a gem of a breakfast spot! My daughter had the sweet crepes and it was a big portion that could have been easily shared. I had the eggs benedict and was very happy and full. Additionally, I tried a piece of their thick bacon and it was epic. Truly the best bacon I have had in 20 years. We had a party of five and everyone left fully and content. Kind people work here. We travelled up from Parksville, visited Cumberland, and wanted to enjoy a Sunday breakfast. Meat lover omelette was meaty and a great protein fix, pops said it was delish, nothing left on his plate. Classic breakfast had their signature home potatoes, done to perfection (not the frozen potatoes), toast was good. I had to try the crepes, and I was surprised it came with a beautiful bowl of fruit. Wait is always brutal. Arrived with 3 people. A table for 7 arrived 10min after us. They wanted to bump us from the next table available to accommodate the 7. We would end up sitting right beside the door. We left. We don't go pay top dollar for a breakfast to be put by the door, where people stand over your shoulder and the door is constantly opening and closing. What happened to first come first serve? We went for breakfast today and had the veggie egg bennies. The food was good, but not very hot because they had left it on the counter for too long. It's a small place with basic furniture and when it's full (like today), it's very noisy. The main issue today was that there was a very long wait between ordering and getting our food. The kitchen didn't seem able to cope with the busyness of the morning. Probably during the winter months when there are fewer tourists, the service may be a bit more reliable. There were people waiting outside when we left due to the lack of space. While the food was OK, we wouldn't wait in line for this place. read more

We were visiting Courtenay to play a festival and we're put up in the super eight hotel and we're looking for a breakfast place within walking distance and happened upon this joint...and amen praise the baby Jesus we did! The entire family was not only completely in love with all of our food, but we all had leftovers and departed very full and satisfied. We arrived on a day when the cell phone towers and ATMs were all down across Canada and some nice local man named Tim bought us breakfast too. Thank you Tim! Had lunch here with my wife and daughter. We had waffles, crepes and eggs benny. We have been here before but it has been remodeled to add more seating. I noticed there was no special as there used to be but the menu appeared to be the same. The food arrived and was very good and met the previous high standard we expected. My only complaint would be in the past they always served maple syrup which has been replaced by the usual sugary syrup. I asked about it and was told you now had to ask specifically for maple syrup so there is likely an additional charge. All in all still a special place. read more

The service was prompt, attentive and friendly, and the food and beverages were outstanding! My husband's breakfast sandwich was so fresh that he had to let it cool down for a few minutes before he could eat it. The Belgian waffles were light and crisp, and came with hand-cut fruit salad (with no filler fruit like melon!). Rude rude rude waitresses. Bought my 2 Aunts for breakfast. One ordered sausages and asked for well done and to not have them split. My other Aunt asked for well done bacon. It was soft when it came. She asked her to have it made crisp. When she returned the microwaved bacon was no crisper. She asked her to take it back and make it crisp. the waitress replied with nose in air "if we cook it more it will be tough!" She was so rude and pretentious I was quite shocked. I have never been so pissed off at a waitress. When my other Aunt said to her if you wanna try tough you should have tried the sausages. Well the waitress had a full out belly laugh at the one.
