Prices on the pieces I looked at ranged from $30 to several hundred $, so you should be able to find something in your price range. The woman staffing the store when I was there was knowledgeable about the works and the artists, so your questions will be answered in a friendly way. Great place to make a PEI purchase.

The gallery also features select works by Canadian, American, and European artists. The owner and staff put on temporary/seasonal exhibits that are fun and exciting to attend. In addition to the two- and three-dimensional art on view, you will find high-quality crafts such as pottery, art glass, and artisan-made jewelry on display. A small amount of fine antique furniture items is also part of the gallery mix. Whenever I have a special gift that I want to give or whenever I want to treat myself, this is the first and last place that I head to, because I always find something out-of-the-ordinary at Details Past and Present.

Georgetown may be a very small town, but stumbling upon Peter's Shoreline Design shop made our…read moreexploration even more special. A sign outside of the shop advertises sea glass jewelry which is something I wasn't all too familiar with, so of course I had to check out the goods. It's a small space, so some of us had to take turns going inside to admire all of the jewelry he had. Those of us that waited outside were kept in good company by Peter's black Labrador, Georgie. There were tons of jewelry sets, rings, necklaces, pendants, and earrings made with sea glass the owner had picked up right behind his shop (it's located on the coast). Peter had such a warming personality, and his mustache is truly signature - it curls at each end. We shared stories of why we were in town, and what we'd be doing, and he was so thrilled to hear about a group of artists in the area that he even offered to give us a demonstration on how he makes his artwork. Unfortunately our time in town wouldn't really allow for the opportunity, but if it had we most definitely would have taken him up on it. But not all was lost - just about all of us in our group bought something from his shop. I scored an incredible faceted black onyx ring made with sterling silver. It fit perfectly which meant I didn't have to resize it - although he offered to do that on the spot for any rings we bought. Shoreline Design is most definitely a gem inside Georgetown. It makes me wish we had shops like it back in Florida. If you somehow find yourself in this part of PEI, definitely stop in and check him out.

We'd really like to reward this lovely home/shop with something more positive because they have…read moresome attractive and interesting handcraft items for sale. Here's why we can't. We arrived in Pugwash on a Sunday morning on a shopping and sightseeing trip around north shore area and were drawn to a pretty home set back from the road in a setting of dense green foliage. We went inside and admired and planned to purchase a handful of items (jewelry, a dog collar, souvenir) when one of our party needed a bathroom. We asked the two young women behind a counter if they had a public bathroom and were told they had nothing that customers were permitted to use and that we would have to drive several miles away. This wasn't an option and we explained that. Same reply. We dropped our selected purchases and abruptly left. We were angry, and in reviewing our visit at first decided to give them one star, and maybe we should have. We believe that kind of behavior to be quite unacceptable. (We finally located a porta-potty behind the closed library several miles away.) But we like the products for sale and the store's use of local artisans. So two it is.....
