A great place to enjoy food and drinks with friends. I went to The Highlander with a couple of friends and we had a wonderful time. The brewery offers a variety of food options, including the amazing flatbread pizza that is attached to this post. The service was very quick and attentive, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and close, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We were able to find a spot without any hassle in a lot attached to the building. Overall, I highly recommend The Highlander for anyone who loves good food and drinks or wants to try something new. It is a great place to enjoy a meal with friends, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I will definitely go back soon.

It's places like these that are good for the soul. Simple, unpretentious, real & genuine. Within walking distance from the bungalow, The Highlander was last night's destination and place of entertainment.... Daily specials & food fitting for a bar. The crispy wings & burgers seem to be the favorites among the regulars. The Burger of choice is titled "The Lander". A double-patty monstrosity of grilled ground beef. Humorously titled just below it on the menu is "The Lander Girl". A clear attempt to shame the less hungry dive dwelling man into sheer embarrassment for ordering the wimpy one patty-version. The bartender Derrick is extremely welcoming and possess all the necessary characteristics of the perfect bartender. Despite manning the entire bar, as well as the few high-tops, Derrick somehow always knows when a refill is needed before reaching the last drop of swill. He's a calm, efficient and personable individual. A great host. Whether it's a lifelong mission, or just some misplaced drunken over-romanticized hope, I've been wanting to find a comfortable watering hole where everyone knows your name. A modern day Cheers if you will. The Highlander may be my Cheers of the Eastside. Sloppily raises glass of Irish Whiskey and toasts to The Highlander: That the joy and prosperity may reign forever! Sláinte!

Awesome small bar. The food was better than I expected with a huge portion size! I recommend the Lander Boy and tots.

The Highlander is a classic hole in the wall bar that you could easily walk by not seeing, but that is a mistake. It gives you everything you want: affordable cold beer, attentive service even when busy, a few TVs and delicious bar food. They have rotating daily specials, great onion rings, corned beef egg rolls that I haven't seen anywhere else, and the Lander Boy is one of the best burgers around. It is a small venue and can get pretty crowded at times, but as long as you don't mind talking a little louder and rubbing elbows with good people you should be fine. The Highlander is the neighborhood bar chains try to imitate and ruin.

    Great time!

We were in the mood for a good burger and we saw that this place had been voted "Best Burger in…read moreCleveland!" So we figured we'd try it out! If we were not looking for this place specifically, I know we would've driven right past it! It's a standalone little building and the only markings I saw outside was a little sign that said BAR. But it was 2 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon and there were several cars in the parking lot, which is a good sign. The inside is really tiny. There's a large U-shaped bar and about six tables. We looked in the menu and opted for their famous Smashburger. It is $14 and comes with fries. It is a double patty cheeseburger. I did not want a burger that big so I opted for just one Patty. They said that was no problem, but the price was still the same. I also got onion rings, which were $3 more. The food came out really fast and you could tell it came right out of the fryer because the french fries were super hot! This place is called a dive bar, and I guess it is - but on a Saturday afternoon, the place was filled with all kinds of people. On one side of us was a family with little kids. On the other side of us was a couple in their 20s. And then the rest of the place was filled with people from every age group. I have to say that the music they play there is fabulous! But back to the food. The burger was seasoned really well! It is a smash burger, but they're still able to make it crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Our server was really good. She did not hover, but she was around to see if you need anything. Depending on the vibe that you're looking for, if you want more of a bar vibe, you should go in the evening, but we were happy to just be in a relaxed little joint with good food. They opened up another Crowley's in Painesville so we will probably have to try that one too.

We went at a slow time (noon on a Saturday), so we had table service. You might need to put in your orders at the bar during busier times.

Not a big place, but enough high tables and bar seats to take in a small crowd. A few low tables are in a room off the main space. Large patio outside. I am sure it gets busy out there during nice days. Nice prices on my typical drink. Got a calzone which has to be the reason they attract people. It was quite good. Guy next to me had a Bigger Boy burger which looks to be their signature burger. It was big for sure, and nice and sloppy. Looked great! I will be back to check out a few other items on the menu.

I do not recommend going to this disgusting establishment. The owner Sam likes to get drunk and if…read moreyou're lucky enough, you'll find him there on Thursdays. (probably after a nice long day of golf) If you use the restroom, he's usually sitting at the end of the bar and will harass you when you leave the restroom. I've been in this establishment two times. The last time was June 18. I went to the restroom at 9:55 PM. This would be a good time to check your security cameras. Before even walked into the restroom, there were comments made to me by him that were inappropriate. Left the restroom where he proceeded to sit in his chair. Ask me if I went number one or number two. Then he proceeded to blow in my hair and tell me that I should be doing sexual favors for him on my knees as all of the men around him laughed. He proceeded to make fun of my hair, etc... Sam is supposedly a family man. This is supposed to be a family owned establishment which is posted online. It is not. It is trash. The owner is trash. How embarrassing for his entire family. All of the bartenders, of course, defended him as he was sitting there harassing me. Of course, at the time I didn't realize that it was Sam the actual owner. But of course, while I was taking up for myself, I was told by one of the female bartenders that "this isn't gonna fly here" when I was standing up for myself. I truly hope that maybe Sam can get his life together and stop harassing customers especially new customers. This is not a family, friendly establishment when the owner is completely drunk, falling off his barstool and using complete disgusting language to females that walk by him. I honestly have never had an experience like this before, but after it happened and speaking to other females that frequent that wonderful classy establishment, Sam is known for this. Save your money, time, and class...go somewhere else where you're not sexually harassed.
